View Full Version : Winamp's acting wierd...

Alright, so Ogre/SW-Fans.net replied callously to my tirade against iTunes with a simple, "Winamp rules!"; so I decided to check it out and see how it worked. I like it. It's a bit wierd to me seeing as how unused I am to it, but recently I found that for everysong in the library that had been played and rated (you know, the whole stars thing), there was a duplicate either above it or below it. I went through the library and found that the songs that weren't rated weren't duplicated. Any thoughts on why this happened, and how I can get it to stop or some such thing?

I made the jump from Winamp to iTunes a couple of years ago... never looked back.
Sorry I cannot help ^_^;

I hate them both. But then again, I'm using Windows 7 and Linux at home so.... I use some Linux player that works pretty well.

Sorry, I used to use Winamp non stop, that is until I got an iPod about 3 years ago, then I switched and like Desq, never looked back. I'm unsure as to what would cause this problem though, I never had it when I used Winamp a while back

I don't use either program but it's very likely there is a "remove duplicate" function. It's also very likely that iTunes did something stupid/annoying in it's music organization.

I use Winamp to manage my Wife and Daughter's iPods and never used iTunes. I have never been impressed with Apple's proprietary software and load of crap that usually comes with installing it on a PC. As for the issue you are having I can't say I have seen it, but I don't rate songs either. I just use Winamp as a player and iPod manager. ^_^;

That's what I use it for as well. So much lighter than iTunes. I just got in the habit of rating them, so yeah, perhaps it's something that I should kick.

I use a Zune, too. The Zune software only exists as a conduit to put things on my zune.
I use Foobar2000 as my music player of choice.

Random fact I discovered yesterday: Terry Pratchett uses iTunes.
And he plays Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.
That man rocks.
