In the a recent issue of Final Crisis, Darkseid killed Batman with his Omega Beams. Wow I can't believe they killed off Bruce Wayne. I guess Dick Grayson will take over as Batman now. I know DC comics has gotten really dark they have killed off several major heroes and Darkseid now rules Earth.
Edit apparently Batman killed Darkseid right when Darkseid killed him. Of course knowing the comic book world both characters will be back.

They're doing "Battle for the Cowl" to see who becomes the next Batman, as far as I know.

It should be Dick Grayson really, he deserves it, hopefully he wins it. Of course they could find a way to bring Bruce back, they did bring back Barry Allen.

Well, he's been "alive" for a long time. Suppose he had to go eventually.

Don't worry, DC's just playing out all their little fantasies before hitting the cosmic "Reset" button on everything as they've been planning to do for a few years, now.
I mean, you can't honestly tell me that the multiple Lantern colors in the Green Lanterns is supposed to last, right? There's tons of storylines going on in DC right now that are unsustainable. Total reset's coming in about two years.

Marvel kills Captain America.
DC kills Batman. What are they trying to say about our heroes? Haha

Aye it was a bit of a shocker to see Batman die but in the comic world iconic super heroes never stay dead for too long...far too profitable:lol
I like the whole Batman breaking his vow and killing with a gun and bullet no less. It was suitable.

Only 2 deaths in comics are ever permanent: Uncle Ben and Gwen Stacy. Bruce will be back, either because of the Power of the Plot or Retcon or the aforementioned Cosmic Reset Switch. I'm entirely unconcerned. :)

Make that four with Thomas and Martha Wayne :p
I keed, I keed...
Ah, Batman will never be the same...he'll come back eventually, like it was said before, Barry came back, Harry came back, even Sue and Ralph came back...it's all about making things interesting. Though that's a bit to interesting for me since Bats is my favorite superhero-comic evah!!!

Not true, they'll be coming back to join the Black Lantern Corps.
I swear I am not making this utter garbage up.

Jason Todd.
And stupidly brought back by Judd Winnick simply because he was one of the fans who voted to not kill him.

I doubt those two would come back. I do like the idea of the Black Lanter Corps as long as DC is smart about it. But I like Geoff Johns (the writer) so I admit to being biased.

I actually had heard that before from a friend but nothing ever has materialized.

He's not really dead. He's sorta just lost in time.
