It was a bright morning on the planet of Meras – or at least, as bright as morning could be on a world of such deep-seated darkness. Amongst a grove of trees, the landing ramp to a sleek silver starship lowered with a hiss. A lithe figure emerged from within, ducking his head low before emerging from beneath the hull of the ship. Clad in pale robes, with a gleaming lightsaber hilt hung at his hip, there was a regal air to his features and stance.

He cast dark eyes about, his senses encompassing the nearby area, in search of any other lifeforms. A matter of days ago, the Jedi Council on Coruscant had received a distress call, indicating that a young member of their noble order had become stranded on Meras, a world known to be the den of a number of nefarious individuals, a number of which Jedi Knight Dasquian Belargic had encountered before – and would doubtless encounter again, as he searched for the missing Padawan...

I had been Dasquian Belargic's padawan for sometime, we had been through a lot and the master/padawan connection we shared was nearly unbreakable. He was more of a father figure to my life and I respected that above all else. I was a Jedi mechanic by nature, and he made me into a good fighter by will alone.

The leg brace I wore clicked quietly as I exited the starship's ramp, my padawan robes were in order as I threw a sensory glance about. I had never been here, but the darkness I felt was enough to last me a lifetime.

"Why would a padawan willingly come here, Master?" I asked quietly as my hand brushed by my lightsabre hanging on my hip.

“This place is a... nexus of the Force,” Dasquian mused quietly, as he scanned the area for any further signs of life. “It calls out to those who harbor doubt and desire in their hearts.”

Even Dasquian, an accomplished Knight of the Order, felt the weight of the Dark Side upon him. In such a place, it was impossible to deny its presence completely. Even the soil beneath their feet had become tainted with it, the trees drawing it up through their roots and into the canopies which spread like covetous talons across the sky.

“It's difficult to sense anything here,” the Knight sighed quietly. “The Dark Side... clouds everything.”

I stayed alert, but I also felt a dark shroud over me. I felt its temptations and closed my mind from it.

"Where do we start?" I asked as I wanted nothing more than the warmth of the Force to surround me. This feeling I felt was like a strange taunting and it took a lot to ignore it, but I refused to let it in.

I stood by my Master, awaiting his answer.

:: A darkside signature reached outwards like death with wings to greet them. The sound of a riding beast broke the stillness, and in the distance, the creaure and it's master appeared. A Trandoshan Warhorse, snake-scaled & claw-toed, uttered a cold rasp as it pawed at the earth. Upon it's back rode a blonde woman in form fitting obsidian bodyarmor.

Beast and Mount galloped towards them, and stopped within five feet in front of them.

"Greetings, Belargic."

:: Her vocal tone was as beautiful as she was, but full of hatred. Her eyes fell upon Jacali, then returned to Dasquian ::

"You've brought another lamb with you. Do you think you can save her too?"
