Fanatics and Terrorism

Some time ago, a great idea was suggested regarding a fresh spin on the Sith and their role in our own little galaxy. The analogy was simple; what if the Sith are the Star Wars equivalent of the religious fanatics which plague our own world with violence and terror? There are some who I'm sure will claim that is what the Sith are supposed to be anyway and to an extent this is true, the fanaticism is there but I just don't feel it is here represented solidly in our own roleplaying community.

When that thread came to an unscheduled and abrupt halt, I was very disappointed and I'm sure there were others who felt the same; we had the opportunity to have our characters be a part of a group which sought to impact the galaxy in true fundamentalist, no-holds-barred fashion. I'm not sure what went wrong but what I would like to know is who, if anyone, is interested in pursuing this again or indeed for the first time. A fresh approach would be needed and if there is still interest, we could use this thread to throw around ideas and melt them down into something with which we can work.

A band of Sith who are uncompromising and fanatical about their believes and how these beliefs can be used to drastically change the face of the galaxy in their vision. Personally, I think it is a perfect vessel for engaging, action-packed story arcs and I wonder if anyone else feels the same?

I don't know if Kuklos Ataxia is going to be involved, but, once she's suitably corrupted, Akasha may be up for something like this.

I like the idea, but I dont think I have a character that will fit at the moment.

I love the idea. This character wouldn't fit, but I have somebody that may. The way I could see it get executes was on a "terrorist" sort of way. Something that is far more unadulterated than the Rebels, and isn't like guerilla warfare, but in still on a decent scale to be galactically noticeable.

This idea kind of sounds like the chaos to the KA's order, if you catch my meaning? Certainly not something Salem would buy into.. far too crude and noticeable ;) I think this has more of a pre-movies (i.e. back into the EU) Sith vibe about it, as opposed to the KA's Palpatine inspired cloak and daggery.

That's fine, though, as a mobile agent, I'm sure Akasha will have the opportunity to run into this crew and either render aid or throw a monkey wrench as it suits her (oh, I meant Salem's) agenda. ;)

This idea could also provide some much-needed action for the thumb-twiddling Jedi...

Right. I guess it fit more then. Although we have never actually used the name in-character since the reset. I don't think I would have even classified us as a faction until recently, since our numbers are beginning to increase.

I'm glad to see there's still plenty of interest in this idea. And now to strike while the iron is hot, I think. Rather than spend too much time mulling over the possibilities, I have an idea how to kick start this little band of merry evil-doers, it's quite accessible except it requires characters to be on Coruscant briefly, if that's not too much of a problem for anyone? I promise action, blood, and cake! I mean guts!

Lilaena is not a Sith, so its highly unlikely she'd ever get involved in this. So its unlikely that Akasha, as her apprentice, would either (at least for a while). ;) Sorry! ^_^;
