Well, it was inevitable that this topic would raise its head today. It's New Year's Eve and we all have ideas about what we want for ourselves in the year to come but for now, let's talk about the traditional resolution we may make in anticipation of '09.

Mine is simple, I want to learn how to cook. I'm a creative person, I think cooking is a real skill and one I want. I was watching a Jamie Oliver Christmas cooking programme a couple of weeks ago and I realised that at exactly the same time the following Christmas, I want to be planning and preparing to cook my own Christmas meal for the family. I've spoken to people with experience and a few have suggested this book (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Cookery-Course-Delia-Smith/dp/0563362863/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1230746833&sr=8-4). This will be my first purchase of the year and I can't wait to get stuck in. See you at the next SWFans Iron Chef!

So what's yours?

I already cook, but for me it's not such a fun creative thing, yes there's tons of creativity and ingenuity involved but it feels like work when you're not doing it because you want to. Anyway. I want to learn how to bake! I'm not talkin' "Let's bake a cake!" or "Let's BAKE cupcakes!". Anyone can do that. I wanna learn to make stuffoli or ricotta turnovers, I want to make some delicious pastries! D+ I already started, you should too, start now. I make resolutions all the time, New Year's is too cliche.

I'm not quite sure how much I weigh right now, but I'm pretty sure I don't need to lose weight as much as get in shape. So... I'm working on that already.

Resolutions? ... Ehh, I'll keep it simple.

I will have a better year this year. All around. I'm determined.

You hear that? Hold me to it.

I dont do resolutions.

I'm simply going to do 40 things someone 40 shouldn't be doing. Including 5 big ones that are going to be seriously challenging. First things first, back down to racing weight.....

Mine is pretty simple, exercising minimum on a weekly basis (except when I am on vacation). I have more ambitious goals than that, but the resolution should be easy to follow, because I am tired of breaking them..

My real goal though is to get ripped / buffed. :D
