To whom it may concern:

I will be travelling from 12.45 PM to approximately 11.30 PM as I endeavour to make it home for the holiday season. Be aware.

I tried doing this yesterday, but the snow-storm in Detroit (my connecting airport), caused first a delay, then a cancellation. They rebooked my flight today as there were no substitutions available (and these guys were Northwest...). I ended up in the airport for about seven hours just to stand around and get sent home.

So, keep me in your thoughts, prayers, and whatever else while I try and not die in a freak airplane crash in the middle of a snowstorm, since they have me going to Detroit again.

Sincerely,
Me.

Good luck, you're gonna need it. Nearly everything at PDX is canceled right now, because of our storm and the storms in other parts of the country.

I'm alive! There was a delay, of course; but I made it out of Ottawa almost an hour late. Not bad, in my experience. Then in Detroit, there was a delay as the crew was flying another plane in from Chicago, and didn't make it until 9.15PM. Then we sat in the airplane for about an hour as they unfroze the brakes and all that, only to find a hook in the door or something had bent and they couldn't unbend it. So we were sent to another gate, and another plane.

I didn't end up at home until 2.00AM. But I didn't die, and that's always a good thing. Right?

Great success!

I'm glad you'renot stuck - we've got stuck travelers all over the place in Portland - mostly Greyhound bus and Amtrak travelers. Lots of cancellations at the airport, but not because our airport is too bad, just because there aren't many planes here from other places. :)
