I can't even begin to tell you how sad this makes me. Majel Barrett Roddenberry--Gene Roddenberry's widow, Nurse Christine Chapel, Lwaxana Troi, and all around great lady--died this morning of leukemia. I had the privilege of not only seeing Majel at multiple Trek conventions but also being able to speak to her personally at some of these events, and she's always been a particular favorite of mine. She was a smart, sassy, wonderful woman, and I am missing her dreadfully already. :cry

I read that on the TV screens in the food court at the mall today. Very sad.:(

I had heard that she was not doing well, but it certainly doesn't lessen the effect of the news. I give her so much credit for being such a great ambassador for her husband's vision after his passing, and for really embracing what Trek has meant to so many people over the years.

Rest in peace, Majel.

She was such an incredibly entertaining character as Ms. Troi. Sad to see her go :(
