I know there's a bounty hunter's guild somewhere (Kazaar keeps membership in it). But I don't think we've ever had that 'official'.

I don't think we need anything more than maybe telling people to follow the written rules for bounty hunters (but they should do that anyway if they're trying to RP them correctly). No need to over think this.

Just do whatever it says here under Galactic Civil War? So the guild is technically destroyed due to the Bounty Hunter Wars. Perhaps a few of our hunters might RP putting it together again?

edit: and then you can just say your hunter is a part of one of these, smaller guilds if you want I guess?

Since we really only have one BH who ever had a successful roleplayed bounty I thought I'd start it off by contacting Ecks first, and get him "on board"... then the thread would continue on to an actual meeting of all "proper" BHs.

I figure the NPCd BHs are all reckless upstarts :p and only the BHs with proper accounts are those of some caliber :evil

Anyone who wants to be contacted "directly", so to speak, like in the other thread I started about Kazaar, give me a shout.... I chose to contact Ecks first because he was the only one with "real" credentials, but if anyone else wants to be in on the initial stage, you're welcome to it and I'll set up another RP for it.

Apart from that, once the other meetings have progressed a little bit further, we'll get on with the big meeting.

Would be good if whoever is a BH and is around would post in here once so I'd know which BH's I should include in my "invitation" post.

I figured it might be a bit more fun to go meet each other BH personally and "check them out", so to speak, whether we really think they're Guild material or not. At the end of it would be an invitation to the first guild meeting, so as these separate threads progress, updates from them would be posted in the main thread.

I'd be interested in one of those. My Bounty Hunter, Chir'daki, is supposed to be working for Black Sun, kind of on a permanent retainer; a personal encounter / visit would help a lot to make him getting involved "on the side" seem like a more plausable thing.

Anyway, about the Guild Meeting. Here's an update:

Since a lot of the current BHs still need to be invited, and want invitation threads, AND since I'm not going to be around as much as now for the next four weeks, I figured we'd have the meeting once I'm fully back, and until then we'll try and get the other threads done.

Okay, the Recalling the Guild main thread has a new post: a message to all bountyhunters calling them to the meeting. So whoever wants to take part in this, make your way into the thread and post about it. The meeting is at the Black Blood's pirate hideout above Nar Shaddaa - anyone who doesn't know what that's like please go read up on the place on either the wiki or the group's main forum; there's a description of what the place looks like. The pirates are absent, of course. It's a good place to use for a meeting because it's not easy to access, and largely unknown.

Anyone who contacted me in the past about doing a separate thread about meeting up before this big meeting and who hasn't had a thread, please contact me via PM so we can establish a final version of how the various characters might be linked (if they should be). I know in some cases we already talked about it, but as the weeks progress people change their minds or something happens to the character that doesn't work with the original idea so it'd be good to figure it out before posting so no one gets confused and posts something wrong.

The meeting is taking place roughly a month after Miranda becomes Empress.

Just to check the timeline so I can work out where various people fit in:

Presumably (given the timeline on the wiki page), the start of Recalling the Guild took place in "1 Year 12 Months AE" as the wiki says, but that it took a month or so to deal with all of the meetings and what-not, so that the actual assembly itself won't happen until some time in 2 AE?

Just want to see if Riko and his family, and Chir'daki would have been spoken to prior to the "conversation", or if inviting them is maybe a result of it.

I'm sure the Montegues would turn up, what with Hugo probably being a Lieutenant and all. I doubt anyone would have had the opportunity to officially invite them though; the network coverage in Imperial prisons is a little sketchy at the moment. ;) We'll make some sort of dramatic entrance or something.

...although "dramatic" probably relates more to family drama. Damn kids. >_<

Yes. Recalling the Guild started out at 1y12m (about two weeks before the coronation) but it took over a month to get everything rolling so the meeting would be at 2y1m.

The meeting with Chir'daki took place a few days after the coronation, and that with Riko right afterwards. Darven sent that multi message to all bountyhunters (anyone in the galaxy who considers himself a bounty hunter, that is) while he was visiting Riko, so he would have told him personally where to go. The message would also have gone out to all of those Dar and Ecks talked to personally.

I've been chatting with Mara, and we're wondering if - since the main Recalling thread will take a while to get going - it might be worth "pulling a Jedi" and just jumping forward to a point where the Bounty Hunters Guild is properly established. That way, we can actually get on and start with some bounty storylines, and what-not.

I forget what's written earlier in the thread, and I can't be bothered to go back and check, so I'll give you a quick run-down on how things are going to be organised (correct me if I'm wrong, Mara >_<) -


The Bounty Hunters' Guild is led by the Guild Council, which is made up of a bunch of senior Hunters who bugger about and handle all the paperwork, politics, and beaurocracy. The Council is led by the Guild Master - Ecks - and consists of various members, most of whom are Guild Lieutenants (with a couple of exceptions). Darven is the second-in-command to Ecks; appointed to fill in if Ecks isn't there, basically.

A Guild Lieutenant is the administrator of a particular "group", "family" or "house" of Bounty Hunters, who are usually held together by some common theme or speciality. Most Bounty Hunters are grouped under one of these Lieutenants; the Lieutenant is responsible for handing out assignments, and for dealing out the money afterwards.

To get things moving along, it'd help a lot if we could work out who slots in under which Guild Lieutenant. Below is a list of the members of the Guild Council, and their particular "specialist subjects", as well as any known Hunters who work for them. If you see where your character might fit in, holler; if you don't, holler anyway, and we'll work something out - arrange for a new Lieutenant, or whatever.

You can remain Independant of any specific Lieutenant if you wish; we'll have to work out who assigns you and pays you later, if anyone chooses that option.


Ecks - Zephyr
As well as being the Guild Master, Ecks specialises in hunting down Jedi. If that's your particular field of interest, he's the guy you want to be working for.

Darven - Nya Halcyon
He specialises in "military" targets - namely, any targets that have military training or assets. This encompasses individual defectors, as well as mercenaries, pirates, and private armies.

Hugo Montegue - Vittore Montegue, Cambrio Montegue
He specialises in what he calls "exotic" targets. That's a pretty vague and amorphous term that includes anything unusual, from dangerous creatures like Krayt Dragons and Rancors to humanoids with supernatural powers like Shapeshifters and Lupines. Basically, if it's weird, Hugo will kill it.

Grym Kandle - Chir'daki
Not a Guild Lieutenant per se, Grym is the representative of Black Sun, and is a Vigo within the organisation. His role puts him in charge of any Hunters who are on the Black Sun payroll, regardless of their speciality. He is also personally a fan of assassinations, so if you aren't Black Sun but want to leave no survivors, he might be a good call.

Mace Riko - Saesee Riko, Agen Riko, Kit Riko
Another "not exactly a Guild Lieutenant", Riko is the head of a band of mercenaries. While they can get sent out on their own for generic mercenary missions, their main role is to provide back-up to other Bounty Hunters where needed - like when Darven goes after a private army, or when the Montegues take down a big and nasty (or large number of) evil critter(s).

Of course there can be more "houses" or branches, and their leaders can be NPCd, too, if necessary, so if you think you want to belong to a branch specialising in something but you don't want to be the only responsible for it, you can mention that, too.

And of course, it's always possible to ask the leader of a branch other than one's own to get permission to go after a particular piece of merchandise.

Managed to grab Mara for a brief chat yesterday. The Rikos' relationship with the Bounty Hunters Guild is a little bit more complicated, because they're technically mercenaries "on retainer", rather than Bounty Hunters. The solution we've hashed out is that in the Recalling: Riko thread, we'll have the Rikos hired to provide security at this particular meeting... then we'll work out their permenant status with the Guild later on. So if you want to just hang around and look intimidating - maybe glare at a few people - then feel free.

Remind me to tell you my thingy idea tomorrow. I'll forget, otherwise.

Depending on what happens in the next few hours, I'll either try and get a reply out tonight, tomorrow morning, or tomorrow after work.
