This evening, in the course of a few short minutes, I have read about not one...not two...but THREE proposed remakes. Ugh. Can't anyone have an original idea anymore?

Arthur - Please don't insult the memories of Dudley Moore and John Gielgud this way. Please please please.

Romancing The Stone - For years, I called Romancing The Stone the best of the Indiana Jones rip-offs, until it was toppled by The Mummy. Remaking it is completely unnecessary and just plain silly. Don't touch it.

Dark Shadows - Okay, okay, this one I can probably live with. The idea of Tim Burton directing and Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins is admittedly quite delish.

But still...original ideas, people! Come on! :shakefist

I hear they are also remaking an old John Carpenter movie They live, although that one bombed pretty bad and I think also stunk so I could live with that one.

I'm probably the only person who cares...but the trailer actually looks decent!
Hopefully the guy who plays Jason is good though. "FvJ" was disappointing because Jason was too tiny :(

Honestly? As much as I think this might suck, there are some classic Ft13 elements in the trailer that I love. >_>; The tent scene reminds me of one of the opening scenes in #9 (which was horrible!).

As long as the actor playing Jason is good, it's not hard to make a good Ft13 movie (IMHO - I love the originals and have watched them an embarassing amount of times but the newer ones are just as cheesy and awesome).

Speaking of creative bankruptcy: Ridley Scott is directing Monopoly: The Movie, except he's giving it a bit of a sci-fi twist in the vein of Blade Runner. It speaks for itself.

I'm holding out for the movie version of Scrabble.

Haha so they're actually using board games for ideas now. It's like that Robot Chicken sketch come to life. Now I just want to see Hungry Hungry Hippos and Chutes & Ladders.

Dang it, does Johnny Depp have to ruin EVERYTHING that was good? Dark Shadows should not become a movie. It's perfect in its low-budget, poorly filmed and acted self as it is.

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp? AGAIN? When will this madness end?!

Christopher Lee and Helena Bonham Carter to co-star? :mneh
