So...has anyone here been watching True Blood on HBO? Oh my goodness, it's definitely over-the-top, wildly colorful, gothic, Louisiana-steeped fangtastic CHEESE, but to me it's also turned out to be one of the most consistently entertaining and fun shows on TV right now. I've been so hooked on it that I've already bought the first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series that it's based on, and if I like the first one, I'll buy the rest of the series. This series is just so good that it makes Twilight even more laughable to me...I'll take this series ANY DAY over the silly icky gooey teenage vampire romance that Twilight turned out to be. I swear I was ready to burn that book before I was even half finished with it.

There are only 2 episodes left in this season, and I am already starting to mope over it. At least I've read that there will definitely be a second season, but since it's HBO, I figure it will be another year before a new season starts.

If you haven't seen it but are interested, please note that it's rated TV-MA for a definite reason. The sexual content is pretty extreme at times...I never thought I'd see the day where I would see Anna Paquin naked! :eek

I heard about this on NPR a few weeks ago, and it seems like a fun show. Sort of like Alien Nation for Vampires.

:D I love this show! I always watch it the next day on demand since I work evenings, but I think that's a great way to explain it. Vampires have 'come out' as it were, working for equal rights. So some are trying to assimilate but there are still Vampires out there that are nasty evil ;)

I agree about the right kinda cheesy, over the top goodness :lol It works really well and I am glad there is something other then Twilight out there to quench my Vampire watching bug :rolleyes Course, there's a lot of Supernatural goodness involved.

I watched the first episode of this over Halloween weekend at my friend's apartment, since he's hooked, and I must say, it was good. I'd love to watch more of it (mmm, Anna Paquin ^___^) but alas, I do not have the HBOs. :(

We watch it. I like it, although I still have last week's on my DVR waiting to be watched... my hubby has lost interest in it. I'm trying to get him to give it a chance again.

I got the first book, Dead Until Dark, to read, and I liked it. Although, you shouldn't read it yet if you don't want spoilers as to the central mystery of this season!

My favorite episode so far has been the one where we got Bill's back story and found out how he was turned. The scene of him taking his last look at his family was really sad. Stephen Moyer is my new heartthrob :love. He can bite my neck any time he wants!

I also LOVE the song that plays over the opening credits. It's from an out of print album, but ever since the show premiered, it's caused a real stir. Fortunately it's available at iTunes, it's called Bad Things and the singer is Jace Everett...needless to say, it got downloaded to my iPod this morning. :)

I have seen a few episodes, I have liked what I have seen. But I don't have HBO here and have only caught it when I was at friends or when I was back home. Hopefully the DVD will be out rather quick.

Not back till next summer! ^_^;

Questions, I have questions!

Dang, but this first season was great. Really entertaining stuff for sure!

I watched it all on on demand the past few days. I really liked it. Reminded me of the Interview with the Vampire books but with other mythological creatures thrown. Is Michelle Forbes a witch? Or a Meaned? Of course they are both very similar.
