If you're looking at the box score for the Chiefs and Buccaneers, no, that third TD by the Chiefs is not an error. WR Mark Bradley took a reverse and threw downfield to a wide open QB Tyler Thigpen for the TD. They broke in to show it on Fox. Wild play.

So, what's up with the Chiefs, the Bengals, and the Lions? They're playing to win all of a sudden!

Great game between the Packers and the Titans so far.

I know Lions and Bengals might finally get a win. Hopefully, the Chiefs don't blow it like last week. The Titans have the Packers where they want them. They tend to keep the game low scoring (except for a few games) and then turn it up in the second half. I think that is more because they wear teams out with their pounding running game.

Okay, the league REALLY needs to do something about the roughing the passer call. They just flagged Justin Tuck of the Giants for a hit on the Cowboys' Bruce Bollinger as Bollinger was throwing - they claimed he drove Bollinger into the ground, but Bollinger was jumping for some reason, so of course the impact was going to send him to the ground. What the heck was Tuck supposed to do? It was a completely clean hit, and not at all the kind with a high risk of injury. It was very much the same as the call against Lamarr Woodley when he hit Derek Anderson as he threw, and just two drives later they overlooked a play where Shaun Rogers took three steps after Ben Roethlisberger had thrown, lowered his shoulder, and shellacked him.

I'm sure "driving the quarterback into the ground" must have been a point of emphasis this year, but it's completely failed. It doesn't provide any additional protection for the quarterback, and it just adds another way for refs to misinterpret and punish perfectly clean hits. It's already ridiculously hard to hit the quarterback legally. Now it's getting to the point where attempting a sack is like trying to block a punt - if you don't keep the ball from leaving his hand, you're getting a personal foul. It's pathetic.

EDIT: In other news, how in the heck do the Broncos have only 7 rushing yards with under ten minutes to go in the fourth quarter?!?!

While the Raiders finished with a net offensive yardage of 77. Is this even a pro football team?

The Broncos suck. The winner of that division might go 8-8.

I enjoyed the Giants-Cowpies game very much :dance.

BTW, if anyone had told me at the beginning of the season that the Titans would be 8-0 at this point, I would have laughed my butt off. Wow.

They are definitely the surprise of the season. I am lucky I am going to school not far away from them. Should be fun if they make it to the SB.

Here we go, Steelers, here we go!!!

EDIT: Argh, the offense is playing terribly so far. Come on, guys, stop hanging the defense out to dry.

Four drops so far... >_<

Got us a field goal, but Santonio Holmes dropped a pass at the 2-yard line. Fortunately, Ward still converted the third down, but the rest of the receivers need to get their heads in the game.

Something needs to happen, like maybe a BLOCKED PUNT! ALL RIGHT SPECIAL TEAMS!

EDIT: Well, what should have been disaster with Ben going out with an unspecified shoulder injury has turned out to not be quite so bad - Byron Leftwich is actually playing more efficiently than Ben was and is proving himself to be the capable backup we all hoped he'd be. Obviously, I don't want him starting next week, though. I hope Ben's all right.

Leftwich still has some talent. At least you guys have a good back up.

Great job by Byron Leftwich. It was nice to see the offense go with a faster-tempo passing attack; I really think they need to find a way to do that with Ben: shorter drop, quicker passes. I know there's all that wisdom about not interfering with a quarterback who has a gunslinger mentality, but he used to run those kinds of plays all the time, and I have to think that opened up some of those big plays.

But once again the defense were the stars of the game. They held Clinton Portis to 51 yards on the ground, sacked Jason Campbell seven times, and reeled in his first two interceptions of the season. James Harrison leads the team with 9.0 sacks, and Lamarr Woodley is right behind him with 8.5. Unfortunately, the refs still felt compelled to call the obligatory roughing the passer on a play where the Steeler pulled up - this time James Farrior was the victim. But the refs hating our linebackers seems to be our biggest defensive weakness. I'm excited to see how this D fares against the Colts next week. If the Steelers offense gets back on track, that should be a good game.

We'll just have to wait to hear what the word is on Ben. :(

Wow, a tight field in this round. But I felt it was worth noting that Park and LD were the only two to predict the Bengals' upset victory this week! Now all that remains is to see when the Lions get their first win (and when the '76 Buccaneers get to crack open the bourbon).
