NaNoWriMo Help: Name My Main Character?

In the process of coming up with the concept, plot and characters for my Nano this year, I have managed to name everyone and everything except the main character! Names are something I spend far too long thinking about, even for Roleplaying purposes, but I can't visualize the character properly if they don't have the right name. So, I need your help, ppls.

The name of this guy ideally needs to have a classical antiquity sound to it (Ancient Greece/Rome), but I'm not sticking strictly to the naming conventions. The name is for a young, fairly inexperienced soldier-sort. Any help you can offer would be fantastic :)

I like Silus best, that is if it is pronounced SAI-LUS and not SEE-LUS, if it is the latter then I retract my vote. It rolls off the tongue and of all the choices sounds best for a soldier type character, on top of that it sounds fresh and young, whereas I find a name like Alecto to sound more like someone who has age and wisdom.

I was all set to disagree with Droog here, but I took a ganders at the names and found that the man was right. Lucian was a close second for me, but it still reminded me of an older person, if not much older than Silas.

Silus/Silas isn't the name I would have originally gone for, though the meaning "of the forest" does suit the character well - but the more I think about it, the more I prefer it to the others.

That and the fact that I can't think of anything better. I used up all the good names on the supporting characters :lol
