This game came out in 2007, and was also released for the X-box360, although the PC version gets better ratings. I saw this game in Gamestop going for 10$ brand new, so I picked it up and tried it out...
And this game is freaking awesome!
I haven't found anything this addictive since way back when I first started playing WoW. Basically you the play the role of the Overlord, Lord of Darkness, and your mission is to build an army of minions and become as evil as you want to be.
You can kill anything, animals, plants, enemies, innocent humans, etc. While there is a size limit to your army, it can get pretty big. My army size limit right now is 35, and I'd guess I'm about halfway through the game or so.
Has anyone else on here played this?

I played the Xbox 360 version, and it was freaking awesome, for the few scant hours it lasted. It's not a very long game, although you can sit there and horde gold to fully pimp out your tower. Once that is done all there is left is the short campaign and then your done. I did that much in a five day rental period, had a blast, returned it, and never considered picking it up again. I know there was additional content released via the Xbox Live Download, but I never got around to seeing what that all entailed.
Its a solid game, even if short and a little weak at times. It can be incredibly frustrating when your entire gang gets wiped out by some land hazard or particularly tough enemy and losing all their accumulated gear. Regardless, it was incredibly fun and filled with good humor. I would not have promoted it when it first came out or advice buying it at full price, but if you can find it in a bargain bin or use cheap, then I'd wholly suggest the game for a pleasant romp on the other side of fantasy RPG fence.

Maybe the campaign will be longer when they release Overlord II:

I haven't reached the end of the campaign yet, and it's lasted me several days. I can't seem to find what to do next, I've killed the Dark Paladin guy, but I haven't found any new zones yet, nor have I any current quests.
EDIT: Turns out I skipped past the Dwarf Fortress and the Dwarf King guy. I massacred him, and took a while trying to get the darned Jewel onto the teleporter, so now I have to liberate spree (although the stupid ninjas keep attacking the minions I need to bring down the flying eyes ((think overlord from Starcraft, but with eyes))).

My general strategy was to have an even amount of each type of minion and then just throw them at the enemies until everything was dead. If that strategy proved less than effective then I just camped on the spawn pits and just sent a neverending stream of minions at my enemies. I farmed for minion numbers for blacksmithing so I could do that. You might not have that many minions to sacrifice to lack of tact.
Blues are more or less worthless. Sure they can revive your fallen minions, but they tend to just wade into the massacre and get themselves killed. They die in usually a single hit, and then your remaining blue end up reviving just the other, dead blues and now you've lost all your browns with the decked out armor. Silly blues. Its almost better just to replace blues with more browns or greens.
