Anybody catch this new show? It is very creepy and reminds me of the X-Files. It stars Joshua Jackson, Anna Torv, and John Noble (he played Dethmor in LOTR). Noble in particular is great, he is a cooky scientist who the get out of a mental hospital to help them solve cases. Joshua Jackson grew on me as the show went on. If you missed it, it will be on again on Sunday.

ARGH we were just going to sit down and watch it and it turns out that the DVR recorded an hour and a half of NOTHING. :shakefist

There were a couple of big plot holes that were a little too glaring, but overall I enjoyed it and will definitely keep watching it.

And wasn't it ironic that the show started with a disaster on an airplane, considering this is a JJ Abrams series? Deja vu! :lol

LOL I know Abrams must not like Airplanes.

:D I loved it.

I will definitely be making a routine of watching it. :)

Yeah Noble was really great, and I agree Jackson grew on you as the show progressed, which I sort of suspected he might. He's got that kinda face. :lol

I enjoyed it. The labeling of locations--while at first was humorous--got on my nerves after the third one, though, and felt highly distracting and made me disconnect from the show.

Overall, on a scale of one to ten I'll give it a four. Didn't do a good job of making me connect with the characters, and the direction of the show from what we've seen so far is fairly lackluster. The actors genuinely seem to be trying to make it work, though, and I'll give it a few more episodes to climb up onto an interesting level.

Anyone still watching this one?

I find my self queuing it up quite often.

I still watch every week, and I'm still convinced that the writers must be eating shrooms or dropping acid since the stories are just so weird and wild. :cool

I am absolutely, completely, utterly in love with the comedy stylings of Peter and Walter Bishop. Walter is already unhinged, but watching him teetering on the edge just waiting for Peter to realize that he's actually Peter 2.0 is fabulously tense stuff. :thumbup

Took me a while to get into it, last season the FBI chick was a bit too whiney for my tastes after her partner/whatever dude dies and was in her head. She's gotten better. I can't wait to see what funky powers she's got from the experiments as kid.

I like wackey, I have to admit, I keep watching it now for the wacky.

Last night's season finale was great. What a cliffhanger they left us with...I'm so glad it will be back for a third season, otherwise we really would've been left hanging. :ohno

I just hope that Olivia finally basically telling Peter that she loves him won't ruin the show.

AHHH I love Fringe! Its my security blanket now that LOST is over (tomorrow).

Did you see the writing on Walternate's blackboard in the old Harvard lab? Unscrambled it reads Don't trust Sam Weiss, and the glyphs spelled out WEISS as well. Glyphs reference (http://fringepedia.net/wiki/Glyphs_code)

The acting in the finale was really good. Anna Torv really sold being Fauxlivia, and her Olivia interactions with Scarlie made me :3

John Noble deserves a shelf full of Emmys, and Leonard Nimoy picked a great role to retire on.

*whew*

With Lost leaving us tomorrow, I do think Fringe will help to fill the void it will leave behind. Plus JJ Abrams has a new show coming on this fall, but it doesn't have any sci-fi or mysterious overtones. I'll probably still tune in, though, just because it's got JJ's name on it.

Didn't know about the glyphs or what was written on Walternate's blackboard, I love little tidbits like that :D.

I read somewhere today that the alternate Fringe universe should have its own spinoff series...I could go for that! :cool

Well I think with how the season ended we'll be seeing a lot in Universe B next season.

I have yet to watch an episode of this, but I just picked up the complete season 1 DVD set for pretty cheap so I'll be having a marathon viewing :cool here's hoping it was a decent investment.

Thanks! I really enjoyed the pilot, am watching the second episode at the moment. I have to say, both episodes have had reeeeally creepy intros. This second one especially with whatever the hell that woman just 'gave birth' to. The Bishops are my favorite characters so far, I think.

How many seasons has the show been running now? How many seasons behind am I? ^_^;

It was a decent investment. I hope you like it!

The biggest complaint I heard about the earlier episodes was about Anna Torv's acting, and while some of that was probably on purpose for the character, she does improve quite a bit as it goes along.

edit: there are two seasons. We just finished the second season last week and IT WAS FANTASTIC! :eee

The Bishops are my favorite characters so far, I think.

The Bishops make the show for me, you will revel in John Noble's acting in particular. It took me a long time to warm up to Olivia, but it finally happened this season. Anna Torv has really grown into the character, and Olivia kicks ass for sure.
