Greetings,

I am looking to get into the RP on SW-Fans. I have watched the forums for a while, and finally decided to come out and step into the adventure. I am seeking to establish a Jedi character, and would appreciate the chance to start as a Padawan (in truth, my main goal is to eventually attain Jedi Knight, and mostly stay around that rank - I'm in no hurry).

I have read and understood that few know of Vortex, and I would like to have it that my character has been involved with the Jedi for some years already. Perhaps he was inducted into their Order as a younger child, as he now is around the age of nineteen.

Are there any specifics I should be aware of (biography-wise), or are there any Jedi characters willing to take the steps to help Aran be seen as 'established' as a Padawan in the Order? Obviously having other Jedi accept he is a Jedi would help the situation immensely...

So, with that, I await any and all replies that might help me get started.

PS: Also, if there are any threads going currently that require a Padawan (not necessarily for training), please let me know and I can stretch my legs with the character.

Hi Aran :)

With your character only being 19, and the Jedi Purges happening 25 or so years before our "present day", it would be unlikely that Aran had been part of the Jedi Order! However, that doesn't mean that he couldn't have been part of some small group, formed after the Purges, by Jedi who were in hiding from the persecution of the Empire.

I'm not sure where we're all at, as far as active storylines go, but I'm sure we could get a new thread started to bring you into the fold, so to speak.

I thought about the timeline, also, and decided to go with his parents being Jedi, and raising him away from the Order. I figure that Jedi (those that went into hiding) would have still been hunted down, even after the 'purge' period (once found), if only for Palpatine's want to keep the numbers quelled...

None the less, I've posted a quick 'flash back' of Aran's past, which I've made open in case others want to join and start some interaction.

Looks great, I'll work on a reply either later today or tomorrow (my days off from starting a new full-time job - and I just worked the week straight, for 10 hour days).

Edit: Speaking of which, are we going to go with the understanding that our characters know of one another, even if they aren't overly close friends?

Basically, Aran could be new to this Jedi group (aboard the frigate, the one from Vortex), and could have been shipped there from another (smaller) Jedi group prior to the reunion, so to speak. Namely a bunch of students could have been sent to Vortex by their Jedi masters, and were then whisked away aboard the Frigate above Anoth...

Perhaps Aran could know Lianna from the bacta chambers; he could have been involved in helping with her recovery - as even Jedi need to sleep, and can't keep their healing techniques going constantly - and he could be serving as one of the Jedi aiding with healing in general, to both Jedi and Rebels.

Apologies, I've been busy at the job I started last fortnight. We're basically outfitting a new store to open in 2 days time, so I've been working long hours to get stock, shelves and posters in place for our grand opening... who would have thought it would be so much work? :P

Anyways, I'm sorry for the unexplained leave, and will get a reply up in the next few days. I'm just brain dead by the time I come home, and I think it will be that way until after opening in two days.

Just recovered from the flu (thanks to one customer who, literally, coughed in my face), and am now back at work following two days off. The store opening went well, as far as I know, <strike>so I'm looking at getting that post up later tonight after work (9 hour shift, joy!)</strike>. :)

Appreciate the patience, especially as sometimes things are out of my control...
