Seeing as we have X-men and World of Darkness also mixed in with the Star Wars RPing....

Has anyone thought of incorporating a Battlestar Galactica type of rp as well? Maybe not on the Galactica itself. Could do it on a newly made one say ohhh.... the Battlestar Cerberus or something lol. I know I read a big thread about the series, and with that kind of interest it could make for fun writing. Like the thread title says... Just a thought. :)

I don't know the series, but if others wanted to do something along these lines, it would have my full support. The General RPing settings have been a lot of fun so far, so I'm sure something equally good could be made out of this concept :)

I know nothing about Battlestar Galactica, to be honest.

Though in the vein of the whole general rp'ing section, I have thought that it might be neat to set up a western verse.

Seeing as a large portion of the BSG sim would revolve around Fighter operations I do not see it happening since we have so few fighter jocks.
I would love the idea and would love to work on bringing it into the light but it would more or less be a small group of people taking part. nothing like the Xmen or Darkness sim worlds.

I have been wanting to do a Warhammer 40 k sim but i have found little intrest in the idea but my dream is still alive.

Im up for it then. Just a few things. The Cerberus is an exsisting Battlestar in a couple of online fan sims. I would want something original to Fans. Also a battlestar dosnt opperate alone. We should do A full group. its only three or four ships generally. One Battlestar and smaller Warstars and Gun stars.
We would need a Commander, an XO (colonel), Colonels for the 2 escorts, A CAG, A Chief of the Boat, Squad leaders and pilots. the rest could be npc or if someone just wants a minor roll.

We can explain our exsistance by being a deep space exploration group which was out of range of the network durring the cylon attack. or smoething else if anyone else has any ideas. Also a new class would be good. The Acropolis Class is old. and i would like something differant then a Mercury. so something in between. A guy at Scifi-Meshes came up with somethign that will work if we decide to do this. It is the Polaris Class. We can name it what we will. I will contact him and ask for permission to use his design for this if we want.

Now as for what chars this would need, I already have a pilot in mind and I would also grab one of the two colonels for one of the escorts. And the reason as why they were not in the devastating cylon attack you mentioned is very doable imo. Of course, it depends on if this does come to being.

OK well I have done some looking. I know I want to be one of the colonels with an escort and I know the escort. I have ask for the permission to use a few differant types. As far as the Battlestar goes we can chose from a couple of differant designs. The Polaris is a brand new design Smaller then the Novas, and Mercurys but bigger then the Acropolis and Colombia classes. It looks like a Small Nova Class with some very original Carrier pods.

As far as Escorts I want to command a Strikestar of the Cygnus class. and I will also do a Squadron Commander over the Cygnus' Scimitar Squadron

We would of course have to set aside room on one if not more of the ships for survivors as we find them. I think a defender class would be a good choice. turn the hanger into housing. thats what they did in the series. if you look every once in a while you will see a defender warstar flying around.

I figure people can do alot of day to day normal living sims and have enough diversaty between three of four ships. even the people who dont know much about Battlestar Galactica can just create a character aboard one of the ships and just go about there normal lives oblivious of whats going on around them.

As for my Colonel char, I'd have to choose the Sentinel class. It just screams "Pick me pick me!" lol

As for the BSG We should do a separate thread and see what type of interest we have. I would like to for sure do it but lets see how many people we get on board before we work out the final details.
