Description:

When the Mon Calamari went to war against the Empire, they immediatly converted their Passenger liners into armed warships. Among these converted liners were the MC-85 class, of which examples are the Home One and Liberator, both destroyed at the battle of Endor. The immediate conversions however fall short of normal military standards, being that a complete rebuild would take too long. Therefore the ships went into service with their as built civilian grade powerplants, which as a result the ships didn't have as nearly many weapons as could be embarked, among other things.

However, several MC-85 cruisers which had just been laid down as civilian liners could undergo a more extensive refitting from the ground up, and the result is this here battleship, the MC-88. The basic design has not been changed, other than to add a pair of manuevering sublight drives up front for a little boost in speed and turning radius potential. But military grade reactors and other technology has been added, allowing the ship to bear a much more potent array of weapons as befetting for a vessel her size.

With the new weapons complement and starfighter carrying capacity, the MC-88 is capable of engaging entire Imperial Taskforces with a good chance of coming out victorious.

We actually do not need a new command ship design. what we need is something small, around 500 meters, to act as a heavy cruiser. WE have the Independence which was the only other MC-85 cruiser built. The liberty was an MC-80. but that's beside the point. the biggest ship we have to worry about is a Imp Mk II. and I am more worried about the new Vics then an Imp.
We have 4 MC-80b cruiser coming off the line and the stats of your ship just are too advanced to in character make sense. The 88 is more powerful then a Mediator and its way down the line in the EU. I have been talking, with a couple of people, about a cheep, easy to build ship which can be built out of Sullust. They have in the past built daultless, liberator, quasar fire, and hornt carriers. along with some smaller odd ships.

Don't get me wrong, its a nice design and you put alot of work into the stats but we do not need something that would take years to build and cost more then 4 ships of equall usefulness. remember we are poor, scattered and we dont have taxes or tariffs to provide us a budget. we fight with our cusins hand me downs.

So please give me a medium cruiser design. the Assault frigate is a very poor ship in ship to ship battle. and dreadnaughts have to have another ship for anti fighter support to be of any real use, we need something that can work on patrol alone and hold its own against a ship of the same class. such as assault Frigates and Carracks. We could also use something in the 700-800 meter range. WE have 2 Mc80m, some poeple call them MC-60, cruisers which fill that sppot but they are just 2 ships. so a good heavy cruiser and patrol cruiser would be of alot more use to us. something pretty cheep to build and that can be built at Sullust.

Thanx for the design

Description:

The Requiem class Heavy Cruiser was designed by Sorosuub Corporation as a cheap reply to the threat posed by Imperial Dreadnoughts and Victory class Star Destroyers. The Requiem is nothing fancy to look at, and wasn't intended as such, the ship's square sides and simple construction allowed for to reduce both cost and building time needed to get them into service.

The ship is very simple in it's design, with crew quarters, and most essential systems, including the bridge, in the forward third of the ship. The middle third contains the hangar bay, with doors that open into space both on the port and starboard quarters, while the final third contains the propulsion and drive systems. The ship boasts enough weapons to take on a VicStarII, while it's starfighter complement allows for both an adequate screen and enough left over to aid in an attack on an enemy vessel.
