Simple question - what are everyone's vacation plans? (if any)
No matter if you're working all summer, going on a weekend trip or going away for a longer time, tell us!

I don't know!
I don't have any vacations booked. Right now I am just looking for work, and trying to get started on (finally) writing something, with a view to being published.

I'm going to attempt to find a suitably sized freezer to hang out in. Or maybe a walk-in cooler will do.
For reals, I'm just going to be working. And staying out of trouble...for the most part. :p

I might be going on a trip <del>this month</del>, still up in the air though *fingers are crossed and prayers have been said!*
If not, I'll have like...$800 or so saved up for whatever. Other than that, work and bonfires at my mums are my big exciting plans XD

I booked a flight to go to Ireland for three weeks.... but only today did I finally finalize the plans: For the first weekend in August I'm celebrating Lughnasa and the August Bank Holiday weekend by helping out in this really cool celtic garden (http://brigitsgarden.ie/), and then Nya (my daughter) and I are off to the Coast and a quaint little wacky hostel, where I'll be playing chef for 3 weeks. Yay for paid vacations! I'll only be cooking in the evenings and on weekdays, so the rest of the time is mine. And Nya's got a bunch of friends there already, so she is happy, too....
Hey Jen, why don't you come over - they're still looking for someone to do bartending in exchange for free board and a bit of pay (enough to get food with and some extras) ;)

Hehehe.... well, the place is called Old Monastery Hostel (http://www.oldmonasteryhostel.com/news.php), and it is an old monastery done up in a really wacky but lovable way. Check my facebook profile for groups, and you'll find one called the Old Monastery Hostel group or something - if you follow it, there are bunches of pictures of the places and surroundings.
Last year they had a french guy doing the barkeeping. From what I remembered he just got stuck there while travelling around, and all he did was look after the handful of customers in the evenings. There are bound to be other things to do around the place, too.
Just use the contact form and send it to a guy called Stephen (the manager), and tell him that you talked to me and you were wondering if they'd possibly need another person, too, to work.

Ha, looks like a nice place. :)
I'll have to look into how I'd be able to get to Galway... *ponders*

That's easy. There are busses going there. If you fly over and land at Dublin Airport, there's an Express bus going from there right to Galway. Otherwise the same bus also goes from the city center.
And from Galway to Letterfrack the easiest way is to skip the bus (which only goes once a day I think, if it bothers to go at all) and simply hitch a ride. That's the default mode of transportation over there in the west - and safe enough that I had no qualms doing that with Nya in tow last year.

Oh I also have my last day of work tomorrow and will becoming a full time homemaker. I'll be working on writing with an aim at getting published for a little bit every day. :D Can't wait to become disciplined.

I'm working for the most part. Hoping to finish a book to be able to send out to try and get published too. Aside from that, maybe a trip to Golden, Colorado to visit a friend.
