My internets is broke?

No idea what the problem is. Apparently there is "limited or no connectivity".

I tried using wireless, plugging myself directly into the wireless router, plugging myself directly into the modem... and no joy.

Tried the "Repair Connection" option and it says that it was unable to renew my IP address?

I've had that a few times; tried everything. Turns out that Virgin Media decided to do some unannounced maintainance on their internet servers, and cut off everyone in the area for a few hours. Could be something like that? :huh

It does seem to be a problem with the connection itself, rather than the router...
