Hey, guys.

I used to roleplay around here eons ago, and I tried to get back into things a year or so back, but real life ended up getting in the way, as it has an annoying habit of doing. Roleplaying has always been a good relaxation and stress relief activity for me though; figured it was about time I got back into it! Rather than try to get myself back in the groove with my old characters, I figured I was better off starting from scratch.

Before I go all-out with character backstories and stuff, could you give me a quick idea of what's going on with the Alliance nowadays? Are there any active Squadrons or SpecForce units about, or is most of the action on the Fleet side of things? Last time I was around I had a SpecForce Sergeant in a Rangers unit (Tristan Tahmores (http://www.sw-fans.net/forum/showthread.php?t=15939)); is there still scope for that sort of thing, or is most of the focus elsewhere?

As far as the fleet goes we are not very active. Spec ops and intel is the main force with the rebels right now.You should have no problem falling in on some mission. Im sure someone from the rebel spec forces will get with you sone. Until then welcome back and good hunting.

I have a character (Amos Iakona) that should fit in pretty well with the SpecForce bits and pieces. Is there anyone in particular who is heading up the SpecForce side of things, or is it a free-for-all? Should I assume that I'm a lone individual who'll get assigned to wherever I'm needed, or would I be part of a specific unit? Am I part of someone else's unit, or do I run my own?

I really enjoy piloting posts, and would love to get involved with that side of things with this (Jaden Luka) character if at all possible. A-Wings are my fave fighters, but the only Squadron I've spotted is Rogue Squadron, who obviously fly X-Wings. Is the fighter scene stagnant at the minute too, or is there something I can latch onto?

Intel is still the main focus for us, but you are free to create a SpecForce character if you want one :) You can create NPC's to be part of your unit if needs be.

As far as Rogue Squad goes, the pilots involved use more than just X-Wings... but dogfighting and fleeting is still as inactive as it has been for years now.

Would anyone mind if I had a couple of played characters in the same unit? I'd like to use Jaden and Amos; if I stick them together initially, I can always find a way to spread them out a bit as events unfold, like if fleeting picks up again or whatever. Also gives me a bit more scope to run off and do other things too.

What sort of ranks should I be aiming towards?

It just so happens that I have an elite A-wing Squadron."Valkyre Squadron" I have used them very little in the past but they have been introduced. As of this point they are stationed on the MC-40a Light Cruiser Valiant. Also deployed is a B-wing Squadron. The Valiantand its fighters are currently operating as commerce raiders gathering supplies and weapons for the Rebellion. If you like you may take command of Valkyre Sqaudron and the Valiant.

Operation of a spec ops unit from this platform would also work. Just use the Valiant as your base of operations if you like.
Or you can operate off of the MC-80 Cruiser Imonsterg's Trust. It was the base of operations for the rebel army and a group of special forces at Sarapin.

Random question - roughly what sort of time is all this stuff taking place? Roughly how long after Endor, etc?

Roughly two years after Endor, now, I think.

Fleet wise
The fleet is still catching up. Valiant was sent out 10 mounths after Endor. We are trying to wrap up Sullust, Sarapin, and Lisanna. Then I will do Kashyyk. That will take us to two years. Valiant will be recalled then to the Daka system.
