I am not a big NBA fan but we got the perfect finals. The best franchises of all time the Lakers and Celtics playing there again. It reminds me of the Magic-Bird era. It should be a great series, although I think the Lakers will win. Kobe is just amazing.

Heh I am sure you are sick of the Lakers fans there. I am not really a fan of either team which should make it a fun series to watch for me.

I've been a Celtics fan basically my whole life. I'm not really hardcore anymore, because the NBA isn't my favorite(it was when I was a kid). I much prefer college basketball for my hoops fix - and quite a few other sports overall. But the Celtics run has re-awakened my inner 7 year old. It's very cool seeing the Celtics back playing for it all again. :D

I've been a Celtics fan for years as well, the NBA game has turned me off some in recent years and especaily the Celtics as they have been horrible but this year was different. For the last 2-3 years me and the other fans at work had been talking about trading for KG and it finally happened with great results.
I'm not old enough to hate LA from those classic 80's series, I've always enjoyed watching them but I'm obviously pulling for the C's. Gonna be very tough as both teams are good and deep, C's won the season series 2-0 but that doesn't mean much here. Either team could win it and I don't see how it doesn't go 7 games.

I think it will go 7 and it could go either way. I think the series will be fun especially for me since I don't dislike either team. I remember the old rival back when I was a kid. I remember in 87 pulling for the celtics (back then I pulled for every Boston based team since I was from there). My father is a big Laker fan (it has to do with his boyhood idol of Jerry west playing for them). Lets say that series was interesting heh. That is the only time I remember going against my father in sports.

My Mom was a big Larry Bird fan, so she got me into following the Celtics even though I lived in the Dallas area. I suppose the Red Sox fandom grew out of that? Not sure(never got into the Patriots or Bruins, so why the hell knows). Basketball is my favorite sport....college ball anyways. But the NBA is pretty far down on my favorite sports list(I'd guess it's like 7 or 8 if I were to rank'em, perhaps lower).
Which is crazy because it was my very favorite as a kid, and I was really into it until probably around the time of the 1999 strike. The strike didn't decrease my interest itself, but for whatever reason my interest did lessen right around that time.

99 strike did it for. I loved the NBA in the 90's. I rooted for the Pacers at the time.
I also think all those young kids that came into the league hurt for a while. Every team had a high schooler and they were lousy outside of like a couple (Garnett and Kobe mainly).

The league has gotten better, the influx of European players who are young and have great all around games are pushing the 18yr old US kids out of favor as the US kids really don't know how to play ball yet while the Euro's having been doing it for years.
The NBA has to be loving this series, the last few years it has had some quality but lackluster finals matchups and how it nails the biggest rivalry in NBA history with two huge markets. Toss in the most stars in a Finals Series since possibly the Jordan vs Barkley/Malone/etc finals.

That was a splendid Game 1. Had a little bit of everything really.

Great game 1! What happens with Pierce from here on out will be key, if he's limited in game 2 the C's could lose the game and be forced to get at least 1 in LA just to stay alive.

Never updated after Game 3. Lakers had a big win.
But holy cow the Celtics just had a massive comeback and took Game 4. :D

I hate the NBA for the most part, but any time that Boston wins and LA loses is a good thing. Kudos :)
