Well, so far we are well on our way to breaking both the records for the number of recorded tornadoes per a year and the number of deaths attributed to tornadoes per a year, and I can't help but wonder how this year's hurricane season will pan out, which starts in just two days.

It is worrisome that after two quiet seasons in a row, people might let their guards down. But this season is ripe, even with low predictions, to bring disaster. Already the waters in the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, and Atlantic are a lot hotter than what they would normally be at this time of year.

And there are already two areas that bear watching. The first is Tropical Storm Alma, in the Pacific, that is about to strike Central America. Her remains could re-form in the Caribbean or Bay of Campeche. The second area is a strong tropical wave that has just moved off the African coastline.

Does anyone else have issues or discussion about this to bring up?

We may have TD#2 forming in the East Caribbean Sea over the Winward Islands. Right now Satellite presentation looks very impressive as far as build up of convection goes, and there is spin apparent embedded within the convection. I'm awaiting news on the 11PM NHC discussion to see what they say about it.

But here is a little snippit of the satellite shots:

Hi FL buddy. I'm not worried for some reason. I'm hoping there is a lot of shear this year and everything will just be wet and fall apart.
