I recently nearly crashed my computer. I fixed it, but lost my whole itunes library in the process. The thing is, my iPod still has all the music, but I can't find a way to put it all back into my iTunes. Anyone know how I can get my music back to my computer?

Did you actually lose the files or is your iTunes just empty when you open it?

Did the library bit crash out or was it the actual files?

So, I remember doing something like this when I migrated my music from a desktop to one of my various laptops.

I grabbed my laptop and checked the name of the software just for you!

You should feel special.

I appreciate it. Yeah, I lost the actual files. I'll try Khendon's program. I'll let you know how it works out.

I think its working. This is going to take a while though.

Situation under control! Thanks much for the program!

Since you have your problem solved I will just out and say it: itunes is an embarrassment to software on every platform and is a buggy piece of trash.

It really is. I don't think I'll actually need it for much. I usually import music from other sources for my ipod anyway.

I like my iPod, though.

Whenever my iPod breaks (again), I'm going to replace it with a Zune.

At least then I can program games for it using XNA.

Yes, I had a 4 year warranty on my iPod and went through 4 of them during that time. Apple doesn't know how to make jack squat. They just make things look good and act simple.

Can't say that I've ever had any problems with iTunes. Then again, I don't own an iPod.

Which is EXACTLY why they own the market. Because look good and WORK is exactly what is required. iPods are the most remarkably easy to use devices with much more uses than expected.

Pity Microsoft failed to grasp this with the crap heap called Vista / Office 2007 and just about every other damn product since XP.

I've loved all the iPods. I've had a couple of nanos and I now own an iTouch, it's great. I've never had any major problems with them. They've frozen every now then, but it's been pretty easy to reboot them.

Erm, work is debatable. Best Buy stopped replacing iPods with new ones because they had so many problems.

Like I've said, I'm on my fourth. I've had a harddisk die, a touch wheel, and a sound jack.

Just because more people use iPods does not mean that it's superior.

As for Microsoft, they've made some big strategic mistakes. That's why they're rushing Windows 7.

Personally, I'm loving my install of Ubuntu.
