Who is the king of stealth? Who is the sneakiest sneak? Altair (Assassin's Creed) or Garrett (Thief)?

What, no Hattori Hanzo from Samurai warriors? For shame.

Pfft... he's not in the same class.

This is a really difficult question, because they're two different kinds of stealth. Altair is "social" stealth, and Garrett is all about the shadows, baby!

I'm going with Altair. Anyone who can disappear into a crowd gets my points. :)

I haven't played Assassin's Creed so my vote is biased. I think the Thief games are incredible so it's Garrett for me.

The main character is the reason I haven't bought Assassin's Creed - I just can't stand how he looks. He reminds me of some dodgy hoodie-wearing teenager who's just too angst-ridden to lighten up and realise he's wearing that bloody stupid outfit in broad daylight.

But Garrett's awesome. He'd wipe the floor with Altair. The best assassin in the world is useless if he can't even find his target to begin with :p

Garret. He wouldn't win in a fight, but who cares? He'd already be out the front door with the loot.

Oh, such a tough choice. Altair would wipe the floor with Garret in a fight, but I have to agree with Morgan's assessment. Garret would be out and gone into the night before Altair could get close enough to kill him. I don't think it's a very good comparison to begin with. Garret is a thief who murders when required (I can remember trying to beat levels without killing anyone), and Altair is an assassin. I don't think their even in the same league with each other.

Garret gets my vote.

No, garret would be crippled by his own dodgey phsy engine, and altair would be dicking about on a rooftop somewhere becuase deep down he really wants to be the prince of persia.

It's not my fault you suck at Thief.

I don't suck at theif I was just pointing out the biggest issues with both the games. ( As far as it relates to them being stealth games )

As it turns out, changing some of the words in Droo's quote summarizes my experience with these games quite nicely. XD Hope you don't mind, man. :)

Psh. Dissapearing into a crowd is easy. It takes real skill to never be seen at all.

Altair has got the hidden blade and the leap of faith. Altair I am uncreative four-fingers" is da mann.
Has anyone ever used the hidden blade for counter kills? It works!!!

I have to go with Garrett. He laid the foundation for stealth based games.

Well he was the first in FPS games but Hideo Kojima made Metal Gear Games even before the PS One came out :)

The Thief series were the first solely stealth-based games, though.

Has anyone ever used the hidden blade for counter kills? It works!!! The question was "who is the king of stealth" not who is the baddest.

I'm not even sure why this is up for a vote. Anyone voting Altair never played Thief.

Morgs got a point. garret can have is pinky toe in the shadow and somehow be compleatly out of sight to any passer by.

I'm excited about sassins creed finnally being on a powerful platform, I can't wait for its release, I may even actually pay for it.
