So yeah I won't be around for awhile in all my various accounts. I am currently typing to you all from my ps3 which has a descent browser but a crappy interface due to sony improvements. *cough* sarcasm *cough* So I won't be posting and hopefully this only lasts a week until I get a new computer. My powersupply died and in the process it fried my mother board so yeah that was great. cya all around and you can pm me if anyone needs anything I can read them and respond as well. It's just they will be long and drawn out like this post because I can't break things up in this interface sorry. :(

I'm looking for something simalar to waht I had just a better power supply. 2.80 ghz intel celeron I will probably look for something with at least 3 ghz. 1.5 gb of ram. 120 gb hard drive. Also a dvd/cd combo drive with the ability to burn both cd and dvds. Also something to be able to connect to the internet using cable internet. at least 4 usb ports. Not sure how big power supplies get but something bigger then 250 volts. um can't think of much else on specs at the moment.

I assume you are on a budget. I would look into Intel Core 2 Duo CPU's as they give the most bang for the buck for the moment (stop staring at the GHz, and start reading articles and benchmarks at Tom's Hardware (http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/index.html) and Andandtech (http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/)). Also when you buy a power supply, look for a reputable brand so you don't have to experience frying your motherboard again (brands such as Fortron, Antek, Corsair, Enermax, Seasonic etc). There is no such thing as a 250 volt PSU, I assume you mean watts. What you really need to look at is the amount of Ampere on the 12V lines. Read this article (http://www.silentpcreview.com/article28-page1.html) to learn some fundamentals.
Actually, just stop whatever you are doing and ask Morgan for some advice. I am sure he can find you a nice cost / performance system.

lol. Yes I meant watts I wrote that in a rush and wasn't paying attention. As for stoping what I am doing well I really haven't started anything. I am in the process of just starting to look since it just happened yesterday. As for morg's help yeah that's why I posted the specs up there. I am basically going for the same machine I had just slightly better and a better power supply. So the said specs where mostly from my old computer. I have a great video card so I don't need to worry about that until I decide to upgrade it again wich I upgrade video cards like every six months to a year. As for a name brand power supply well that's a little harder to get ahold of in the imdiate area I live in. In fact if my computer wouldn't have gotten fried yesterday the plan was to take a road trip to go buy a better power supply in a bigger town that actually has descent eletronics stores. I was slowly in the process of get rid of the base machine and having a custom built PC. It was all depended on when the money came.

Ok, are you going to buy this in a store or something? The prices on-line are usually worlds better :(
If you're going to a store please let me know which one so I can study their inventory.

well the computer I am looking at is at wal-mart. I know the internet prices are far better but since I have no way of purchasing online as you know morg I really can't get it from there. The machine I am looking at, at the moment will run me about 284 bucks because I get a discount. it's running an AMD syphron (sp). 160 gb hard drive. 1 gig of ram. comes with windows XP home which is good since I loath vista. all and all it's pretty much the system I had just a different motherboard since it runs amd where as my old one ran intel. The brand is e-machine there not great but there cheap. I just wish they would tell me what kind of power supply they where running.

well if you think that one is the better one then maybe I will have to wait three weeks to get one. How ever I already seemy problem with that particular computer. It has vista which means I will hate operating system on top of that the majority of my video games won't work wich is also another problem with vista. I don't know I just wish I had allot more money then I wouldn't have to worry about all this **** I could just build what I wanted. :(

It's like this also morg i am very limited on where I can get a computer from in this town. I have wal-mart (as far as I know target doesn't sell computers). I have office max and then various rent to own centers. the rent owns charge way to much for crap. I'm not sure what office max has for computers cause they open so late in the day I never get a chance to stop by there.

Really? If you don't want Vista on it, format it. Put on whatever OS you want.
Games not work on Vista? What games? Homeworld2 wasn't working on XP 64 bit for me; but, runs fine on Vista 32 bit. It's not a great operating system. It'll get the job done, though.
If you want a great OS, boot up something open source.

With a little massaging pretty much all of my games run on Vista.
Blade, the computer I pointed out is BY FAR the best option you have. Seriously though, :(
