Banner is your average 16 year old high-school student. She has a part-time Mc-Job in the small town where she lives, a best friend affectionately nick-named Parker and oh yeah...she can fly and is super strong. Being naturally "geeky", she decided to take on the role of local super-heroine. Dressed in a red and blue costume (sewn by her grandma), the press has dubbed her "All American Girl".

Ghost
Feb 26th, 2008, 02:11:02 PM
Name: Chris Wilde
Code Name: Ghost
Allegiance: Cullen's Institute (student)
Age: 19
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 150 lbs.
Nationality: English
Powers: Ghost form*

Bio: Chris grew up in Gloucester, England, where he lived in a small terraced house with his parents and younger brother. There was nothing remarkable about him; he played football during his school lunch breaks, he scraped passes in all of his subjects except religious studies, and when he got home, he rode his bike and played more football. He was the class clown and had his fair share of detentions, and for a year, he took a part time job stacking shelves in the local Kwik Save. A textbook childhood for every kid in his street.

However, when he announced that he'd be taking a GAP year before tackling university, his parents had an announcement of their own: for his sins, they had saved the money to send him off to Camp America. So instead of sitting indoors, playing Tekken and smoking pot with his mates, Chris found himself spending nine weeks surrounded by middle-class American kids in Iroquois Springs.

Being not much of a team player or a leader, Chris quickly found his niche as camp clown and kids would followed everywhere. However, his rebellious sense of fun didn't earn him any Brownie points with his colleagues and they waited anxiously for the opportunity to send him packing. During a climbing exercise, their prayers were answered: there was an equipment malfunction and Chris fell thirty feet into shallow water and jagged rocks. And when the ambulance arrived, his body disappeared.

Later that evening, he appeared out of thin air on the floor of an ER waiting room in a critical condition. A week passed, and the owner of the camp paid him a visit and informed him that he was no longer welcome on the camp because the children were afraid of mutants. As he laid in his hospital bed, Chris thought about what had happened to him and what had been said but couldn't accept that he was different.

He refused to believe he was a mutant, and with two weeks left to his big American adventure, he headed to the Big Apple in search of answers. He enrolled at Dr. Cullen's Institute for the Gifted and has opted to stay for higher education.

*His mutation allows him to slip out of sync with his surroundings. He is no longer physical or visible and percieves his surroundings in a vastly different fashion: everything is shrouded in a pale fog and he cannot see living beings. If he tries to glimpse his surroundings, supernatural phenomena occur. He can take objects into the fog with him and is learning how to effect his physical surroundings, which includes possession. Ectoplasm is also an issue.

Pan
Feb 26th, 2008, 02:31:45 PM
Name: Duncan MacLaverty
Code Name: Pan
Allegiance: Cullen's Institute (teacher)
Age: 23
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 168 lbs.
Nationality: Scottish
Powers: His skin rapidly heals living things when touched. His hindquarters are strong and allow him to jump much further than regular humans.

Bio: Duncan was born into a family of Scottish nobility. He was also born a mutant, deformed with the hindquarters, legs, cloven hooves and horns of a goat. Fearing mass media exposure, his parents secretly swapped their child with the newborn son of a poor widow and rewarded her sacrifice with a new home in the mountains and enough money to support herself and the child for many years to come.

When the political surge of the mutant rights campaign from America reached his homeland, Duncan applied to many public high schools after a childhood of home schooling and was rejected by all. As a young teen, he became an outcast of local towns and another victim of mutant prejudice and discrimination. During this difficult time, Duncan left home and went to live in the harsh wild of the Scottish Highlands, where he remained until after his eighteenth birthday.

Upon returning home, Duncan found his mother sick and bed-ridden. He cared for her and was forced to venture into the nearby towns to buy the weekly groceries. To avoid her son facing ridicule and abuse, Duncan's mother helped him to disguise himself so that he could move amongst regular people unnoticed. In public, he disguised himself as a wheelchair bound man, and in order to hide his abnormalities he wore a blanket over his legs and a hat on his head. During his shopping excursions, he overheard conversations between the locals, they spoke of a strange creature who lived in the mountains, half-man half-goat, and they called him "Pan". When he returned, he entertained his mother with the tales he had heard about the adventures of "Pan", the lonely goatman. Until one day, his mother passed away.

Now truly alone in the world, Duncan travelled to America in search of a new home and to help the fight for mutant rights so that one day, he could walk the streets again on his own two hooves.

Justinian Janvrin
Feb 26th, 2008, 03:53:18 PM
Name: Justinian Janvrin
Code Name: None
Allegiance: Unknown
Age: 21
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 160 lbs.
Nationality: Mexican-American
Powers: Telepathy/Telekinesis; is able to apply telekinesis abilities to augment physical attributes, though when done is is fatigued relative to his actions. Self training using Star Wars as a "curriculum" has led Justinian to develop his telepathy into a passive sort of radar that he can use to predict the moves of any foes, leading to seemingly advanced reflexes. However, his self training and his distaste for being a mutant has not led to stellar control of his abilities.

Name: Frances Jenifer Janvrin
Code Name: Phantasm/Fantasma
Allegiance: None
Age: 7
Height: 4'6"
Weight: 70 lbs.
Nationality: Mexican-American
Powers: Much like Ghost, Frances can turn her body from physical matter into a ghost-like substance; though she has learned to be seen when she transforms, looking very much like the stereotypical ghost. When transformed, she can walk through walls, and turn invisible, and anything she holds can be turned into Ghost form as well. Her weaknesses lay in her inability to interact with anything physical while transformed. Possessions and ectoplasm are matters she has not dealt with yet.

Note: I will include more detailed notes about his contacts with Haven and the Institute when they are ironed out.

Ethan Daniels
Feb 26th, 2008, 05:39:56 PM
Ethan Daniels - Ion
Allegiance: X-Men, Headmaster
Age: 35
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 210 lbs.
Nationality: American
Powers: Electrical Expulsion/Manipulation/Absorption

Ion is a living battery of electrical energy. He can absorb and store electricity for an indefinite amount of time, which can be used for various abilities, mainly for discharging electric bolts and disrupting electrical equipment. He can also manipulate an electrical field that can be used as a shield, as well as sense electricity in a 120ft radius.

Weaknesses: Once Ion runs out of juice, he is powerless. He would have to seek out an energy source to replenish his power. As for how much energy he can safely absorb? No one knows, but it has been proven that the more energy he absorbs past his comfort zone, the harder it is to keep that power contained within him.

Bio: Smart, athletic, a leader, these were the most spoken characteristics that Ethan's teachers mentioned at Ridgefield High School in Connecticut. Straight A student, President of the Student Council, and the quientessential Quarterback of the Ridgefield Tigers that helped get his team down state. With a Scholarship to Western New England College basically locked in, Ethan's future was a sure win ... Until something happened during their Homecoming football game.

Little did Ethan know, his ability to store electrical energy was quietly siphoning off the energy around around him. It had been building up for months and the odd flickering of lights, small electronic devices fizzling out, and rather sharp painful jolts of static electricity really went unnoticed. Try and tell that to David Scianno who tackled Ethan during the first quarter, suffering second during burns on his arms and consequently fell unconsious from the shock to his system. Everyone was confused and scared at what happened. Some thought it a freak accident. Others scorned Ethan and started calling him a freak, eventhough they had no idea how he was able to do that ...

Now enter Dr. Gregory Cullen, one of America's top geneticists. He had learned what happened to Ethan and opened his eyes to a world full of endless possibilities. The world of a mutant. Cullen was a mutant as well, gifted with Super Intelligence. His life work was unlocking the mysteries of the X-factor gene and finding others mutants to train, to guide, to teach ... To prepare for a world not ready for the next evolutionary step.

Ethan became one of Dr. Cullen's first students and with being ostracized by his parents, Cullen also became a father figure to the young man. That was why his death by (I think it's Dasq character here :p) devastated him. Having a former student and friend betray him almost destroyed Ethan, but he refused to let Cullen's life work die. As sole heir to Cullen's estate, Ethan continues to teach young mutants how to control their abilities and offer them a home in Westchester, New York. He also has built upon the wealth that was left to him and funded Argus Pharmaceuticals. They continue the Doctor's work, mapping and unlocking the genetic code in hopes to find cures for the incurable diseases. Many would use this information for ill purposes, so Ethan keeps a watchful eye as CEO and President of the company.

Over the last five to seven years, Ethan has grown into a self-assured leader, a far cry from the quiet and meek teenager that first entered the school. Even with all of the responsibility placed upon his shoulders, he has not lost his sense of humor and finds peace within the laughter of children that fill the schools halls. He holds a lot of power in his hands, not all of it mutant ability, and it's his duty to protect the children of today in order to secure a place for all mutants in the world of tomorrow.

Feb 26th, 2008, 06:21:34 PM
Name: Felix Franklin Fletcher
Code Name: The Feist
Allegiance: None
Age: 15
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 150 lbs.
Nationality: American
Powers: Felix can magnetize metal, causing objects to attract and repel to each other. He can also attract/repel metal objects to himself.

Felix was born in New York, and lived all his life in a small apartment with his mother and father. He has nearly always been the consummate geek; knowledgable about all things comics, gaming, cartoons, and movies. He has a hidden love of rock and metal...which really is only hidden by the fact that his tiny social circle is more into movie and cartoon soundtracks than anything else, and overrule his votes for music when they're together.

Felix's powers manifested slowly over the course of several days until they were forcibly released by a near-fatal car crash. Felix's nervous system generates an extra type of electrical pulse, which he can use to magnetize metal (and himself, to a lesser degree). His powers are diminished after their "breakout", and he must learn to control his powers if he is to build back to that initial display.

Weight: 110 lbs.
Nationality: American
Powers: Able to control gravity within 1 mile of himself. He can make it so it does/doesn't effect him or someone/something he is touching.

Jacinda Blake - "Tempest"
Age: 18
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 115 lbs
Nationality: American (New York)

Powers: Tempest has the ability to control the air. She has very few limits to what she can do with air currents. Flight, expulsion, tornados, etc.

Weaknesses: New to her abilities, Jacinda is still learning to control them and the damage they can cause. Her emotional state triggers unwanted responses from time to time, but she is learning control.

Spectre
Feb 26th, 2008, 07:17:00 PM
"Spectre" aka Jocelyn Kane
Allegiance: Brotherhood of Mutants
Age: 24
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 130 lbs
Nationality: American (Salem, MA)

Powers: Invisibility, Mind Control, Telepathy, Hand-to-hand combat

Weaknesses: Otherwise strong and healthy, prolonged use of her abilities leaves Spectre in a depleted state.

Dragon
Feb 26th, 2008, 09:58:15 PM
Name: John Rhee
Code Name: Dragon
Allegiance: Cullen's Institute (teacher)
Age: 31
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 160 lbs.
Nationality: North Korean
Powers: Can focus his spiritual energy into physical force, increasing his strength and resistance to injury. He can also manifest his spiritual energy as a dragon-shaped aura around his body, allowing him to perform superhuman feats such as blocking bladed weapons or slicing through solid metal with his bare hands.

Bio: Li Jung-Yong was a twelve-year-old boy living in an impoverished North Korean town when government agents took him into custody and placed him in a covert mutant development program designed to create an army of super-soldiers. Li excelled in combat and quickly became one of the program's top agents, but he soon tired of being the pawn of a totalitarian regime. When he encountered the X-Men on one of his sorties, he enlisted their help to escape to South Korea and build a new life. Ethan invited Li to join the X-Men at Cullen's Institute, but Rhee declined, feeling he would not fit in.

Li spent several years at a Bhuddist temple, where he learned to control his rage and achieved inner peace, but he was still restless. When he heard about the death of Dr. Cullen, he contacted Ethan and asked if he could help. He emigrated to the United States under the name of John Rhee and quickly became an integral part of the X-Men team. He now teaches self-defense and ethics classes at Cullen's Institute and is also one of the school's mutation counselors.

Saladin
Feb 26th, 2008, 10:17:15 PM
Name: Hektor Vespasian
Code Name: Saladin
Allegiance: The Brotherhood of Mutants
Age: 34
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 190 lbs.
Nationality: Danish
Powers: Saladin can project gravity-powered tractor beams of incredible power. He can target and manipulate objects from a distance, carry them, launch them at great speeds, and swing them as weapons. He can only generate two beams at a time, one from each hand, but, if he focuses both beams on one object, he can tear it apart with gravity shear.

Bio: Born an only child in Copenhagen, Hektor Vespasian was granted a full "genetic advantage" scholarship to Gladsheim University in Stockholm when he was sixteen years old. He quickly became an outspoken propnent of mutant rights on campus and was involved in the infamous and bloody Gladsheim Riots of 1990. Following his expulsion from the university, he was invited by Dr. Cullen to join his fledgeling school for mutants in Westchester County, New York. After graduating alongside the likes of Ethan Daniels, Maxine Flannery, and Francoise Dupont, Vespasian completed his collegiate education and returned to the Institute as a teacher.

Vespasian never lost his fiery passion for mutantkind, but he did not agree fully with the philosophies of his colleague. When Dr. Cullen was assassinated, he took it as a sign that Cullen's lofty ideals of reconciliation with humans could never be realized, and he grew more strident in his anti-human sentiments. Fearing his friend was fomenting rebellion, Ethan Daniels asked Vespasian to resign. Furious, Vespasian left the Institute and disappeared into Africa with a band of powerful mutant vigilantes called Ragnarok.

Several years later, Vespasian re-emerged and began recruiting his own Brotherhood of Mutants, an army with the ultimate goal of mutant supremacy over the earth.

Zero
Feb 26th, 2008, 10:20:00 PM
Name: Unknown
Code Name: Zero
Allegiance: Vanguard
Age: Unknown
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 218 lbs. (includes cybernetic suit)
Nationality: Unknown

Powers: Zero's cybernetic suit affords him superhuman strength, reflexes, and agility as well as computer-speed calculations. He is equipped with numerous utilities including infra-red vision, magnetic grapples in his feet and hands, and active camouflage which renders him nearly invisible when moving slowly. He is skilled with a variety of weapons, but he favors senbon at a distance and, up close, a ninjato with an adamantium blade and tang.

Bio: Once a Spec Ops officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, Zero's body was recovered after his mind had been wiped by a powerful telepathic mutant. The body was secretly transfered to a Vanguard facility at the request of Colonel Gideon Vasher, and a substitute body was buried with full military honors in its place. Zero is the pinnacle of cybernetic technology and the realization of Colonel Vasher's dream - to create a human soldier capable of engaging and destroying any mutant threat.

General Gideon Vasher
Feb 26th, 2008, 10:23:05 PM
Name: Colonel Gideon Vasher
Allegiance: Vanguard
Age: 55
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 209 lbs.
Nationality: American

Bio: Having served his country as a military operative throughout the Cold War, Gideon Vasher has repeatedly been decorated for his valor and dedication and just as often come under suspicion for skirting the ragged edge of the regulations. In an attempt to contain the maverick officer, his superiors assigned him the directorship of Vanguard, a fringe project under the oversight of the Department of Homeland Security.

Officially, his function is to speculate on future terrorist tactics and provide recommendations for effective countermeasures. However, through a combination of personal networking, bureaucratic manipulation, and corporate arm-twisting, he has turned Vanguard into an independent clandestine research and development organization with a focus on what he deems to be the greatest threat ever in American history: the mutant strain.

Vanguard has developed a variety of anti-mutant countermeasures, some of which are already finding use in military security and law enforcement agencies - restraining collars, blood tests for the X-gene, adaptive tranquilizing agents, advanced tactical weaponry and body armor. However, it is Vasher's goal to develop a new breed of soldier that can match mutants force for force, even if it means tapping into the power of the X-gene itself.

Damien E. Dervish
Feb 27th, 2008, 12:42:25 PM
Name: Damien Edward Dervish

Codename: N/a.

Age: 17.

Date of Birth: April 25, 1991.

Height: 3'6"

Weight: 45lbs.

Hair Color: Black. All over.

Eye Color: Red.

Other Descriptions: Black, fine hairs covering his entire body; black, velvety wings on back; black, bifrocated and prehensile tail; tiny claws for hands; sharp teeth for a slightly carnivorus appetite (is still omnivorous, but has a penchant for meat); topped with two inch, tiny horns.

Mutant Traits: Look at him! Negative darkvision that flickers on as night falls; incredible reflexes (though it isn't a classifiable super-speed);a good judgement and sense of aspects that could potentially alter the difficulty of his various physical antics; a weaker body, due in part to size.

Biography: Well, if it weren't for the looks and for being born to a Southern Baptist family, Damien would've had a normal life. But fortunately, his parents would love him and raise him the best they could, despite his various issues: looking like Satan, being sickly as a young child, and being almost three months premature. But, despite everything, Damien not only survived; he seemed to thrive in his environment.

Damien, despite everything, grew to become an intelligent yet stunted young man. Unfortunately, he was also diagnosed with a passing form of ADHD, though most think it's "normal," his mischievious nature matching his fiendish appearance. But despite it all, he studied long enough between various pranks to get A's in middle school. After studying his situation, the school guidance councilor found that he could study at other schools for "gifted" individuals. And one such school was the Cullens Institute of Higher Learning. Hearing of this, Damien packed his belongings, and headed off for the Institute.

Malachi Rayner
Allegiance: Brotherhood
Age: 19
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 190 lbs
Nationality: North American
Powers: When suffering a fatal incident body will heal itself of all impurities. Wounds, illnesses, scars, etc. Resurrection takes a few minutes. Has been shown to regenerate from any 'death'. Shooting, stabbing, suicide, natural causes, etc.

Weaknesses: Body will not heal until point of death. All wounds/illnesses suffered remain until that point.

Bio: Has been on his own since the age of 12 - when he and his parents discovered his mutation after he first passed away. A sickly youth, he died of natural causes, only to resurrect on the way to the hospital morgue. His parents, being extremely religious saw it as a devilish omen and cast him from the family, going as far as to hold a funeral for son.

He has died multiple times since then. Once when a friend's gun went off, once through an suicide attempt, once from a hate-crime stabbing, once when hit by a truck while attempting to save a little girl in it's path, and then the next day when her brother - blaming him for her injuries shot him in the face. As well as several since, including stepping in front of a bullet meant for a young mutant girl.

He has a dislike people in general and tends to stay by himself, has had no real friends or associates until his recent involvement with the brotherhood.

Pagan
Feb 27th, 2008, 07:28:53 PM
Jason Heller aka "Pagan"

Allegiance: None (for the moment)
Age: 22
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 170 lbs.
Nationality: American (New Jersey)

Background: Jason Heller has had a simple, and carefree life for the most part. He grew up in a loving home, with parents who cared for each other, and nurtured their son to be creative and follow his heart. He had always taken an interest in the macabre, and occult, as a result very few children ever wanted to be his friend, or hang out with 'the spooky kid.'

The lack of childhood companions brought upon the creation of multiple imaginary friends, the three most notable being Padre, identified as a priest who would protect young Jason and impart wisdom to him. The troublemaker, Mr. Stix, who always seemed to catch the blame when Jason found himself in trouble. And Oaf, a gentle and shy giant. Jason's fondest childhood memories were the games that he and his closest friends in the world would play together.

At age 12 his mutation made itself known. And the friends he had played with for so long, started to manifest themselves in more real ways, and young Jason found out they were very protective of their 'real' friend. After a tricyle hit one boy who was trying to beat Jason up, and sent him to the hospital for a broke arm his problems with the other local kids became worse. It was between the ages of 12 and 14 he got his nickname - some kids called him a witch, most simply called him a Pagan, after the taunts began, the name stuck.

Despite all the social problems, Jason managed to grow up well adapted, though he never let go of his imaginary friends, they had become too real to him - especially when he was able to communicate to them, and see them affect things in the real world. He learned to keep them quiet, though, subdued when there were crowds around.

At age 19 his life hit a wall, his father passed on from a heart attack - and his mother fell into a deep depression, becoming a sometimes violent alcoholic. No longer feeling as if he belonged at home, despite his concern for his mother's well being, he broke out on his own, disappearing for 3 years. He's recently resurfaced in New York...

Powers: Jason has the ability to give life to inanimate objects, imbedding a part of his own subconcious upon the object. These splits of his subconcious identify themselves through the imaginary friends he developed in his childhood. The objects that he animates have the ability to move on their own, though they are in fact simply using telekinesis that Jason possesses, but seems to be unable to use conciously.

Objects retain the strengths/abilities/weaknesses of whatever the object is. Jason can hear and communicate with his 'friends' though no one else can hear them.

Weaknesses: Has been unable to animate more than 3 objects at a time - with training and experience this number may increase. Has no direct offensive abilities of his own.

Natalia Fedorov
Mar 1st, 2008, 02:53:12 PM
Name: Natalia Fedorov
Code Name: Masque
Allegiance: Cullen's Institute (teacher)
Age: 23
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 115 lbs.
Nationality: Russian

Anita Stern
Mar 1st, 2008, 08:43:02 PM
Name: Anita Florence
Code Name: Sage
Allegiance: Cullen's Institute (Librarian/Teacher)
Age: 26
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 120 lbs.
Nationality: American/Canadian (Holds dual citizenship with Canada/USA)

Powers: Gains and permanently retains knowledge through direct contact with any item/object or being she touches. With living individuals, this may be seen as telepathy/mind reading, but that is not actually the case as she must have direct contact to get anything. Anita has been likened to a book.

Weaknesses: High-level mind readers/telepaths that are able to bypass mental barriers. Overall, she is also a non-combatant, usually resorting to beating her assailants with a purse/pipe/flowerpot (whatever is handy) or pummeling with fists, biting and kicking, if she is attacked.

Bio: Soon/eventually...

Francoise Dupont
Mar 1st, 2008, 10:10:37 PM
Name: Francoise Dupont
Code Name: The Oracle
Allegiance: Cullen's Institute (teacher)
Age: 28
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 110 lbs.
Nationality: French
Powers: Francoise has the power of psychometry, in that she is able to sense the past and future of a person or object by making psychical contact with it. She wears gloves at all times, to ensure that she is not constantly bombarded with visions. In times of particular stress, she can be struck by visions that she has not initiated herself, though these are few and far between. Alongside these powers, Francoise is suspect of having limited telepathy/empathy, and is often creditted by her peers as having a 'sixth sense' - though it's unclear whether or not he intuition comes from telepathy or is merely an extension of her precognitive powers.

Weaknesses: Whilst glimpsing these moments of time, Francoise is no longer conscious of the world around her and will empathically feel any emotions experienced by the person she is reading. If she were to touch someone who had undergone severe physical pain, she would share their suffering.

Abomination
Mar 2nd, 2008, 10:36:54 AM
Name: Kasumi Amaya
Code Name: Abomination
Allegiance: Herself, currently.

Height: 5'0 [6'2]
Weight: 100 lbs.
Nationality: Japanese
Powers: Shapeshifting - the creature ushered forth through several genetic mutation processes can only be described as a compilation of Earth's most devastating and vile fauna. Tess Abrahams
Mar 2nd, 2008, 11:44:52 PM
Contessa "Tess" Abrahams - Cirque
Allegiance: X-Men
Age: 16
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 120 lbs
Nationality: American
Powers: Hypersensitive reflexes and flexibility
Weaknesses: Because of her anti-violent views, Tess' powers do not extend much beyond novelty at this point; they are merely physical mutations and thus makes her an easy target. What is more, her generally isolated childhood (limited to home and gymnastics) has made her somewhat of a social cripple and Tess finds it difficult to form friendships.

Bio:

Raised in the quiet community of Gold Beach, Oregon, Tess Abrahams didn't have much to do as a child. Her parents, Thomas and Genevieve (a civil rights lawyer and PETA board member respectively), decided early on to homeschool their daughter. Worried that she would not gain the social skills that public education provided, they enrolled her in a gymnastics program at the local family centre. Tess excelled at the sport and progressed in leaps and bounds; she was nationally ranked and competing cross-country by age 10. Her extremely quick reflexes and freakish flexibility generated a reputation for the girl, although behind closed doors there were rumours and whispered accusations also born.

When she was three Tess' parents adopted a baby boy from Ethiopia, her younger brother Todd. An avid animal lover from early on, Todd soon had a small herd--mostly animals rescued during one of his mother's various crusades. One of these causes, a beagle pup named Ursula who was saved from a medical research lab, attatched herself to Tess and the pair have been inseperable ever since. Ursula travels to meets with young Ms. Abrahams and is the girl's only real companion.

As a passionate vegetarian and uber-pacifist Tess has learned to take criticism. After a recent meet however, during which her cotortionist-like beam routine set people to murmuring, accusations were hurled and a lot of heat has been directed at her. Unable to avoid scrutiny and find protection at home, Tess quit her gymnastic team and is now trying to find someplace, anywhere, where she can just blend in.

Name: Jack Wednesday
Code Name: Prime
Age: 27
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 160 lbs.
Nationality: American
Affiliation: Vangaurd
Powers: None.

Bio: Captain Jack Wednesday is the commander of the special operations unit within Vangaurd. He reports directly to Colonel Vasher only and beyond that has a very small public profile. Little else exists in any known record or file about Captain Wednesday.

Wednesday has undergone advanced gene therapy and uses advanced military technology to be considered an efficient tool in combating mutants. With both advancements, Wednesday earned the code name Prime, as the primary and forefront example of Vangaurd. He particularly leads the Primari squad, the elite even by Vangaurd's standards. And while the other soldiers have been given the same treatments as Wednesday, the Captain has tended to take to the gene therapy quickly and has made unexpected developments in areas that the R&D did not think was possible at Wednesday's given stage. Some of the scientists even went as far to say that he was still a non-mutant but what they might consider border line to the mutated homo sapiens.

Locksmith
Mar 9th, 2008, 03:54:19 AM
Name: Johnathan Parker
Codename: Locksmith
Allegiance: X-Men
Age: 6'1"
Height: 6'1
Shoe Size: 16
Weight: 502 lbs
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Nationality: American
Occupation: Cullen Institute Maintenence Lead, Automotive and Mechanical systems Proffessor.
Powers:
Molecular manipulation. Stuck at a constant state of nearly double human molecular density, John Parker can make himself incredinbly dense, to the tune of weighing it at several tons, but can go no lighter than 502 pounds unless he went on a diet. Decades of practice have made John very adept with controlling this ability, though it does mean he can't swim, and he took several structural engineering courses to teach him what was safe to talk on, and what wasnt, when at his maximum density.

Superhuman speed. While he's not the Flash or quicksilver, John Parker can move and run--and to a limited extent think--far faster than a normal human. However, due to his large normal mass, and the incredible weight and mass he can attain, running at high speed carries great dangers to both himself, and those around him.

Bio: Johnathan Parker was born in Dearborn, Michigan, to a blue-collar family. He enjoyed a modest chilhood which bore little difference to many, and as his father worked in the Ford production plant, he learned much about cars at an early age. By sixteen, he too found himself working at Ford, and his prior knowledge carried him on to several promotions, and garnered him a great deal of training until at the age of nineteen he was already supervisor of an engineering team.

One night, to celebrate meeting what had seemed to be an impossible deadline, John took his team out to a local bowling alley for drinks and a few rounds of fun. Being too young to drink legally--not that he'd not been drinking for a few years already--John cleaned up that night in his bowling scores, until in the fourth round, he swung his arm so rapidly that the ball flew nearly three quarters of the lane before touching down. Thinking it a fluke, he shrugged it off, picked a different ball, and went at it again. This time, as he swung there was no great speed, but he did feel a great heaviness, and as his arm carried forward, releasing the ball, he felt as if a ten-ton weight had been dropped upon him. What he came to realize as he fell toward the lane was that the weight was him, and several layers of hevily-varnished and sealed maple shattered and splintered as he crashed through the wood of the lane.

There was no explaining it, and his friends helped him up without problem, but neither of his experiences repeated themselves that night. Still, shaken up, John bid his co-workers good night, and headed home. Over the next few months, John's powers returned more often, and in private he learned to control them. But as they grew, so did his weight, but with no discernable change in physical size. Through the next year he hid it well, but too many signs were being seen at work, and though he was next in line for for the lucrative promotion to department manager, Johnathan Parker left th Ford Motor Company to take a construction job in Westchester, New York.

It was there that he met Dr. Cullen, who was building a school, though from the plans John could see it was far more than just a school. And there were others there, others with strange abilities as well. John began to feel at ease with the doctor, and he stayed on even after the two years the construction took. In that time, John learned that there was more going on than met the eye, and Dr. Cullen discovered John's powers and helped him to focus and refine them, becoming far more skilled than he ever hand been. Eventually, John was introduced to a small group of students that the doctor called the X-Men, and he learned that he could use his powers for more than just personal good.

For three years, Johnathan Parker remained at the school, helping to build and design upgrades when he wasn't on missions with the X-Men. He was given the name "Locksmith" only because at the time he was introduced, he was going to install and key a series of locks in the sub-basement, and Dr. Cullen introduced him as "the locksmith." Beyond that, his name had little to do with his abilities. John was not happy on missions, however, and began to withdraw from active duty. It wasn't that he didn't think that the cause wasn't good, he just didn't like to constantly be put at risk, and be counted on to protect the others and be the heavy hitter of the group. Five years after first arriving in Westchester, Johnathan Parker packed his things and left, bound for the Midwest once more, but he left his X-Man uniform hanging in the basement, wishing to leave that part of himself there.

He returned to mechanical engineering and machining, this time keeping his head down and focusing just on his work. From shop to shop, company to company he roved, eventually making his way to the west coast. Then at the age of thirty-eight, a letter from New York found him, one with a familiar name on it. It was a request to return to Westchester, to Dr. Cullen's Institute, but from a fellow student. After a week of deliberation, John quit his job, packed his things into his van, and drove across the country to return to the school, only to find it very, very different than it had been when he had left fourteen years ago. Dr. Cullen immediately put him to work on many serious upgrades to the facility, and even placed him in a teaching role, both academically, and privately when it came to the X-Men. It took several months before he agreed to take another mission, now with a much different team, though a few faces were the same, but again he did not feel the draw to it as they did.

Five years later, now forty-three years old, Johnathan Parker is a fixture at the institute. Much of the mechanical systems and the newer levels of the sub-basement were designed by him, as well as many of the non-aircraft vehicles. He maintains his teaching role in the realm of mechanics and automotive sciences, but is generally thought of by the students as being the school's caretaker and general handyman. While John does have a few good friendships among the staff--John Rhee being his closest friend--he still feels an outsider sometimes, and often feels looked down upon by the other professors for having no real formal education beyond high school, and for being rough around the edges.

Twitch

Hey guys, I guess I should catch up on what everyone else is up to.

Name: Joseph Ironwood Patterson
Code Name: Twitch
Allegiance: None
Age: 16
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 135 lbs.
Nationality: American
Powers: Twitch has superhuman reflexes. Any other abilities are unknown.

Bio: Joe is soft spoken with a light southern accent and has a minor speech impediment, along with some inner-city influenced speech. He has nearly no idea bout the extent of his abilities. His only prized possession is his late Father's Pontiac Trans-Am WS6.

Twitch's father, Brian Patterson was an officer for the Atlanta Police Department. He was working undercover to infiltrate the Russian Mob's move into Atlanta. Patterson was a known contact to have connections that did minor supplies to Atlanta's local gangs, a mix of Hispanics, Blacks and Whites. The Russians cornered Patterson when his contact with the FBI sold out for 1.1 million dollars.

Brian Patterson was shot and killed returning to his car with his son from dinner on October 17, 2006.

Alisha Ironwood Patterson is an extremely successful lawyer and Human and Mutant Rights advocate. The Ironwoods are originally from Kentucky but moved to the East Village when first Alisha Ironwood and then Steven Ironwood earned scholarships to Pace. Alisha is 2 years old than Steven and is very much a big sister. Alisha and Steven were heavily influenced by Dr. Cullen's work before meeting him and becoming his lawyers for two years.

Alisha is often overseas or at conferences. For Joe's safety, he was placed in protective custody. Alisha, despite her outward activities, was in denial about Joe's abilities.

His powers have become too obvious, and, in January 2008, is sent to the Cullen Institute.

Erebus
Mar 9th, 2008, 08:37:51 PM
Name: Dante Donovan
Code Name: Erebus
Allegiance: ???
Age: Unknown [ seemingly in his early 30's]
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 165
Nationality: Greek
Powers: Fissures split his skin, revealing the darkness within him. With its highly flexible nature, Erebus can emit tendrils and walls of the opaque substance that can both maim and absorb anything in his immediate path. He can also shape the shadows into wings and duplicates of himself. The severity of his power varies depending on the opposition and his environment. Because the darkness is apart of him, it automatically reacts when he is about to be struck, even if he himself is unaware of an attack.

Weaknesses: While he is still capable of using his powers during the daytime, they are considerably weaker. Excess light proves to be distracting and painful. The shadow replications are dismissed upon being attacked.

Weight: 128 lbs.
Nationality: Unknown, currently resides in the US

Greel
Mar 12th, 2008, 11:15:15 AM
Name: Unknown
Code Name: Greel
Nationality: American
Age: 18
Alliance: None. Has yet to met any other mutants.

Powers: Able to change all or part of his body into a blank jell-like substance.
The goo parts of his body are highly durable and incredable strong. He seems to be able to control the goo when torn from his body and reatach as well. The goo has been known to change from acid to non acidic as well. It seems that he has a form of regeneration as well as he has replaced goo that has been destroyed.

Weakness: It cause Greel great pain when pieces of himself of trn off. During this time he has trouble focusing his powers. Even though Greel can regenerate lost pieces of himself it leave him very depleted. Extreme cold seems to stop his ability to change forms and cause his goo form to solidify and become extremly brittle.

Bio: Greel is a kid trying to come to grips with what is currently is. He has gone from star student, to mutant, to runaway, to outcast in only little a year. He stared out as a Star student at his local high school. After he found out about his powers he started to keep to himself and drift away from friends and family.

He learned a hard lession after that. Aways look both ways when crossing the street. When hit by a car he splattered into his tar like form in the middle of the street with people looking. He ran away. Just like when he ran away from his friends when he got his powers, he ran away when he was 'outed'. Kids are cruel with long memories though. An old school 'chum' saw him when Greel was sleeping in the park. A fight broke out with Greel using his powers to restain the other boy. Greel learned a little more about hi spowers that day. In the heat of the moment his turned acidic and ate away a good chuck of the boy's body as well as the boy's skin. Greel had killed another. He did what he was used to again. He ran away.

Greel is coming to terms with himself now. He is being taught control by his mentor Slab. He understands that even though it was not his faught the boy died, but he has to own up to he needs to control his powers. Stop running and do what needs to be done.

Greel wants to be an X-Man, but doesn't know where to start. His powers are not real 'user friendly' and is worried on the path before him. He has a strong dislike for how he was treated and is starting to wonder if maybe The Brotherhood is right on some things.

Takashi Koji
Mar 12th, 2008, 04:11:28 PM
Name: Takashi Koji
Code Name: Malice
Allegiance: N/A
Age: 21
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 145lbs
Nationality: Japanese
Powers: Mass Empathy

History
Takashi Koji was born November 11th, 1985 in Tokyo, Japan. His mother, Myra, worked at cashier at a superstore and his father, also named Takashi, worked for the Japanese Yakuza. His childhood was just as eventful as any child growing up in Tokyo. While he was learned to walk and talk his mother was absent, working late hours everyday at the superstore. His father, although an agent of the Yakuza- The Japanese Mafia, he found time for his son. Even though the time he found was only minutes, he spent just as much time with little Takashi as his mother. When he was six his father was promoted within the Yakuza and money become more abundant in their family. By the time he was going to school his mother quit her job at the superstore and allowed her husband to become the sole provider for the family. His father took more hours and was away more, this saddened little Takashi. He preferred being around daddy instead of mommy. School was more or less uneventful, he was neither smart nor dumb, but rather the middle class of student who did not excel but did not fail either. He was small, even by Japanese standards, as a child and was, of course, picked on by the bigger kids. This change as he grew older and taller. He became the bigger student, naturally lean and muscular, not to mention energetic. He excelled in sports and exhibited great hand-eye coordination. Of course at the end of the day he could be found taking part in Japan's biggest industry: Video games. He was not the best when it came to those electronic games, but he loved them all the same. The video game arcades were a personal favorite place to hang out for Takashi and his friends. Throughout all those days Takashi's father found time to be with him, to take him places, talk with him, and even help him with his homework. A seemingly unbreakable bond was created between father and son and no one compared to the love they shared. He loved his mother, but not in the same way as his father.

But happiness is not to last. One night, shortly after he'd turned fifteen, his father disappeared. They could get no answers from the Yakuza, and where too afraid to push their questions in harder, just in case the Yakuza pushed back. This devastated not-so-little Takashi and he plunged into serious depression. The doctors could do nothing for him and no matter of pills solved the problem. His grades in school fell with his joy and shattered like his heart. He never did bad enough to be expelled, he just did the minimal. Then at that time the popularity of Western culture in Japan exploded and everyone wanted to get on the bandwagon. Kids dyed their hair blond, wore Western style clothing, and tried to be like the foreign Americans. Takashi learned of a style of being in America known as "Goth". Goths were sad, desperate kids like him who wore dark clothes and make-up. So Takashi began dressing in dark clothing and wearing black eyeliner and other dark make-up. He stood out for a year or two until everyone else started getting into the look. His look then morphed into a style of his own as he neared the end of his education. His styles incorporated the dark undertones of black, drab clothing with other colors. Sometimes he could be seen wearing a black dress shirt, slacks, and a green tie. His emotional status changed as well and, without knowing it, he'd conformed to the "Emo" lifestyle that would one day become popular in America.

After his father died Takashi's mother returned to the superstore, getting her old job back and working all day long in order to afford their house rent, his education, and food on the table. Takashi worked small jobs on the side, but that money went towards personal things, such as clothing and other items. Then the unthinkable happened. His mother began dating an American living in Japan. The man was a former U.S. Marine who'd moved to Japan awhile back. The man's name was John Locke and before Takashi knew it the man had moved into their little home. Takashi did not take kindly to Locke, in fact he down right refused to acknowledge the man who, in his mind, was trying to take the place of his father, and he would not allow that. Eventually his mother forced him to talk with Locke and get to know him. Takashi resented him to the very last moment, but Locke did prove useful. The amount of Americans in Japan grew and so did the use of English. Takashi learned English from Locke and within a few years of this was able to actively converse with others in English. He even took an English class during his last year of school.

Yet before even Locke had showed up Takashi was at work in the underground of Japan. First it was beating up people for money, but it escalated into car racing. He found the sleek, small racing cars so attractive that he could not put it down. He worked on his driving and caught the eye of a racing car manufacturer who sponsored him in races. He did rather well and made some money. But things went crazy when Drifting became popular and Takashi's style of driving proved ineffective. He could drift fairly well, but not good enough to win races. He lost too many times and his sponsor kicked him out and sponsored another, more promising racer. Takashi changed his plans for the future.

His plans involved going to America, to get away from Japan and his mother and Locke. He just wanted to get away and be on his own, to do something successful and make his father proud. Despite what his mother said Takashi knew his father was watching over him, he could sense his presence with him wherever he went. Sometimes he even thought he heard his father talking to him, his mother called him crazy. The end of November '06 came and Takashi, recently turning twenty-one, boarded a plane and left Japan, heading for America. His plane landed in New York and Takashi was faced with a new world to cope with. His English skills came in handy now to converse with the natives. There was still many things to learn: Slang, larger more complex words, and the names of important locations and places. He found an apartment room, using what money he had saved up to rent it out, and then began to explore the city, looking for employment.

Unknown to anyone, even Takashi, his father had been a mutant and Takashi carried dormant x-genes within him. His powers would be unleashed soon enough, whether he was ready for them or not...

Expanded History
Takashi's powers manifested and as a result he took control of the emotions of a crowd of protestors outside a hospital giving out a so called "Mutant cure". Infuriated by the death of one of the protestors, Koji spread his unsurpasing wrath through the crowd and launched them all into a screaming frenzy that left the guards and doctors dead and the hospital thoroughly destroyed.

Koji believes that it is his destiny to lead a revolution against the United States Goverment, which he views as corrupt and evil, trying to destroy mutation which is clearly the next step of the evolutionary theory they cling to so strongly, and to kill mutation is to kill the future of the human race and thus welcome extinction. He will not let that happen, so he now carves a bloody path through society, leaving messages to the Government behind with demands to be made of the Government, which they disregard. Koji is convinced that war is the only thing they understand, and he is determined to make this one as bloody as can be. He does not fight for mutant rights, but for the future. His folling is mostly human, his power of mass empathy filling them with his near-religious zeal, effectively pushing them beyond moral limitations. He has created an army of monsters.

Slab
Mar 17th, 2008, 12:08:12 PM
Name: Brian McLanahan.

Codename: Slab.

Sex: Male.

Nationality: Irish-American.

Birthday: March 17, 1968.

Age: 41.

Height: 6'0". In Stony Form: 6'6".

Weight: 200lbs. In Stony Form: 400lbs.

Eye Color: Green. In Stony Form: Emeralds.

Skin Tone: Pale. In Stony Form: Marble with the density of reinforced concrete.

Hair Color: Red. In Stony Form: Reddish Clay. Same density.

X-Gene: Present and Active. Mutant Abilities: Can assume a form of living stone that doesn't require air. In this form, his strength is magnified to superhuman levels, and his endurance is increased nearly to levels of invulnerability. Is also able to perform basic manipulations of rock.

Affiliates: Formerly of the X-Men; Gained a collegiate education at Cullen's Institute for the Gifted.

Past Biography: Brian MacLanahan grew up in the same township as the Institute's present location. He had a normal life, or at least, as normal a life as a cop's son could get. He was quite active, into playing baseball, football, wrestling in the backyard with the boys.

Some time during his adolescent life, his father had a case go incredibly sour. This resulted in Patrick MacLanahan turning to alcohol as a means to escape. And this, in turn, resulted in abusive behaviour, though no actual violent behaviour occured until he was older. One day, when Brian returned home, he found his mother, Sarah, on the floor of their kitchen crying, a trickle of blood coming from her lip, his father standing over her. More determined than angry, Brian stood up to his father, telling him to get help, to stop it. When his father went to strike Brian, Brian found himself with a broken nose. When he went to get back up, Patrick struck his son again, only to draw back a completely broken hand. The father then watched in abject horror as his son transformed before his eyes, gaining almost six inches in height, almost doubling his weight, his skin and flesh transforming into pale, white marble-looking stone, topped with a shock of reddish-clay. His eyes were emeralds as Brian straightened himself up, and told his father to back down. Even drunk, Patrick stood down. Patrick then lost his job, and his family. When it became clear that a mutant was involved, a doctor by the name of Cullen's approached the remainder of the family, and Brian was accepted into Cullen's Institute for the Gifted.

During his stay at the Institute, Brian recieved a collegiate education in Criminal Justice, and was able to attend police academy at the same time. In addition to these, Brian also became an active member of the X-Men, serving as an additonal strong-man and tank for the group. He was involved in several missions of varying degrees of difficulty and lethality.
Once it was available to him, Brian joined the local branch of the NYPD, and has served the law for twenty years, several stints of property damage keeping him from achieving outstanding ranks. But when asked, members of his unit, including his supervisors, declare that Senior Detective Brian MacLanahan is a outstanding and extraordinary individual, responsible for saving the lives of many. Those same individuals will also mention the enormous amounts of property damage that MacLanahan has caused, with a smile or a laugh.

During his time "on the Force," MacLanahan would occasionally come to the aid of his former fellow X-Men, such as a difficult mission in the mid-90's in North Korea to stop a super-soldier program exploiting mutants. This led to the rescue of one mutant, who later became known as Professor John Rhee.

Present Biography: MacLanahan still directly deals with the security of Cullen's Institute, occasionally being called upon to offer assistance in whatever means he can manage. MacLanahan also looks out for young, troubled mutants, and makes an effort to get them "rehabilitated" at the Institute. Senior Detective MacLanahan is currently in his twentieth year with the NYPD, and plans to retire soon.

Age: 17

Height: 5’6

Weight: 125 lbs

Eye Color: Emerald Green

Skin Tone: Pale

Past Biography: Jesse Croft is a foster child. No one is quite sure what happened to her parents. She was a child of the system for years, being tossed from foster parents to foster parents. At 13 years old, she was settled into a house in Florida with Karen Stone and Kelly McDowell, Karen’s other foster daughter. Karen was never sure why Jesse had been tossed back and forth between other foster parents. She had always found Jesse to be a well-behaved child.

The truth was that whenever things would begin to go sour in one of the other houses, Jesse would run. And not just run, but also get away. She had never stayed more then a year at any of the other foster care homes. But the last couple before Karen had actually sent her away because of “odd occurrences.” In truth, it was the development of her mutant powers.

Karen was exactly what Jesse had needed to calm down and settle in one place for a while. And for years, that is exactly what she did. She played the position of Big Sister to Kelly very well. Always tried her best to be a good roll model to the younger girl. Karen did her best to keep the three of them together, working two jobs to get the bills payed. But come closer to Jesse’s 18th year, it was getting tougher.

That is when Jesse knew that it was time to disappear again. She knew, this time, it would be for good from the system. She would miss her beloved foster family, but she knew they would be better off without her. So she left.

Present Biography: Jesse is wandering about in New York City, unsure of where to go from here.

Background
Uncanny led a pretty normal life for the first 17 or so years of it. He was a popular kid in school with plenty of friends, the class clown, loved skateboarding, a hit with the girls. He had a good thing going on. But that changed around his 18th birthday. One night Zack was watching a movie with a girl from school in her parents house while they were away. As the night went on their emotions grew higher and higher until they could barely control their passion. Then in the heat of the moment when everything was going great, the girls cat brushed past Zacks leg, causing him to suddenly morph into a cat himself.

When the girl opened her eyes, she sat up confused, and brushed the cat off her lap. Puzzled by her more-or-less boyfriends' disappearance, she stared in bewilderment at the sight of two cats. Her own pet obviously didn't like the unknown stray as it hissed and clawed in its direction. The mystery feline retreated to the girls feet, cowering behind them. But her own cat arched it's back threateningly...

The next thing she knew, she banged her head on the ceiling and fell off Zacks shoulders onto the couch once more.

That was Zacks first transformation. But it certainly wasn't his last. It took him a while before he could control the transformations, but not before his spontaneous shapeshifting had caused his friends and relatives to shun him for the mutant he so obviously was. He ultimately decided to run away after his parents had tried to persuade him to see a doctor over his 'condition'. Deep down he knew they would have disowned him - he just knew it. In less than a year his life had gone from being damn well brilliant to lousy as hell, and there didn't seem to be anything he could do about it.

Life on his own wasn't so bad. He soon discovered that he could transform into any animal he had physical contact with. It was then a case of grabbing a mouse in a pet shop and gaining entry into several houses until he'd aquired a nice amount of funds to rent a small apartment in the centre of town. But his conscience soon got the better of him and he knew he couldn't go on like this for too long. So once he heard about Dr. Cullens he jumped at the opportunity.

Additional
Although he seems to have learned how to use his power, he still doesn't fully understand it. For instance, god knows what happens to his clothes when he changes - yet when he reverts back to his own form - there they are!

Dallas Walker
Mar 20th, 2008, 04:01:35 PM
Name: Dallas Walker
Alias: None currently
Allegiance: Himself and the Need
Age: 26
Nationality: Unknown
Power: An energy vampire who saps the life from living beings by looking directly into their eyes. Victims become shriveled, dried up husks of flesh with direct eye contact; anything less has less severe effects. He does not need this energy to live off of, he kills because he enjoys it. His skin has turned a dark, sickly shade of grey, and his eyes have a reddish glow to them - these are the only physical signs of his mutation and have no effect on him (Re: he can go out into the sun, eat garlic, etc).

Background
Not much is known about the boy named Dallas Walker. What is known, to a select few, is that he suffered a severe traumatic event at age 4. This caused his powers to manifest at a rapid rate. It also caused him to become labelled as "damaged"; he was left to flounder in the mental health system for most of his childhood years. Because he gained his powers so young, he has grown up thinking of himself as imhuman, and does not think, feel or act like a normal human (or mutant) would. Currently he is being held in the Jericho Center for Genetic Medicine, awaiting transfer to a more secure facility.

A private military contractor similar to Triple Canopy, Executive Outcomes, and Blackwater LLC, Praetorian operates with wide authority throughout the theatres of armed combat that the Western World is invested in. Initially saddled with special tasks in the War on Terror, Praetorian Consulting was contracted by a division of the Department of Homeland Security known as Vanguard. Their mission extends beyond all borders, including within friendly western nations. They are given sizeable allocations of resources to the aim of controlling the worldwide emergence of the mutant threat.

Praetorian Consulting Corp. utilizes Vanguard's rich arsenal of technologies, specifically tailored to deal with the mutant situation, and is the market leader in providing security resources to answer this challenge.

Sorry, I don't want to cause problems, but that's very similar to Chimera's abilities (see previous page), only Chimera doesn't have so many limitations. At this point her abilities are primarily limited by inexperience and immaturity.

I don't think it's impossible to have two illusionists, but it might limit the kinds of stories we both can tell unless you can distinguish your character more clearly. Plus, I was hoping Chimera would remain somewhat unique seeing as she's highly gifted for such a young girl.

It's only natural that we should have some duplication of abilities.

Francoise can also produce illusions, to a limited degree, and her colleagure Natalia Fedorov is also able to mimic the physical appearance and voice of others, which I suppose could be classed as an illusion too.

Yes, you're very true. I apologize that I haven't really explained my character well.

Mirrora can only make the illusion of scenery; no people or animals. She also has to be a part of the illusion, whether she is infront, behind or beside. She cannot create an illusion and then leave; it's stationary and she must stay within feet of her illusion, it cannot move. Her illusions can't be very either big, they may only take up a section of whatever she produces.

I also could create a different power in general, if that would be easier.

PMed. :) Hopefully we can talk on AIM and work it out?

Just to be clear, I'm more concerned about the characters than the powers. I want to be sure they have their own identities to grow and discover and develop. Similarly-powered characters can have interesting relationships. Heck, if Akkrabim wanted to bring back Kirian Graves, his katana-wielding illusionist/assassin, it'd be sweet to see how he'd interact with Jamie! :)

Mar 23rd, 2008, 06:48:52 PM
Name: Maleigha "Mirrora" Scott
Age: 21
Allegiance: Unknown/The Brotherhood
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 120 lbs.
Nationality: American
Powers: Like her name, Mirrora has the ability to produce a mirror-like substance from her limbs which creates a reflection of the scene or setting infront of the substance. If applied to a surface; wood, concrete, metal, skin, etc., this substance will dry into a solid state.

The solid mixture, once again like a mirror, is very fagile and thus breaks if hit hard enough. However, if the substance is spread over a surface and something breaks the dried solution; the solution and the surface underneath it will shatter.

Weakness: Mirrora is not completely immune to her own powers. With the exception of where the substance in produced in her limbs, if she were to get the substance on her, it could dry and once it does the mirror-like creation will never be removed and also the risk that she could lose the function her own body parts or even completely lose a part of her body.

The substance itself drys instantly or at the most (if her concentration slips) about ten seconds; thus her powers not always immediately effective.

Mercure
Mar 28th, 2008, 10:00:23 PM
Name: Issachar Aloise

Alias: Mercure

Age: 22

Allegiance:

Height: 5'10

Weight: 140 lbs.

Nationality: Quebecois. Not Canadian.

Powers: Is able to elevate body temperature to the extreme; the phrase, "makes the blood boil" is literal with Issachar, and during displays of his power it is unwise to make physical contact as his skin becomes super-heated. It also naturally has effects on the surrounding environment, although it has not thus been generated at a high enough level to go beyond a radius of a few feet.

Weakness: Issachar has limited control over his abilities, and has thus far not figured out a way in which to avoid personal harm when they erupt. He suffers from frequent heatstroke, had a heart attack when he was seventeen from the strain, and often blisters and burns his own skin during bouts of rage.

He never went to school and is illiterate, and has a slight grasp of the English language.

Background: Issachar Aloise was born in Montreal, the son of a prostitute and who-knows-who (although he suspects it was one of the local ecclésiastiques.) His mother, unable and unwilling to raise him, sent him to a Catholic work-home for despairing children where his strange abilities and frequent heat-induced sicknesses ostrasized him.

In an effort to make friends, the lad took up the popular, sinful sport of bare-knuckle brawling. He was excellent but sadly it did little to help his popularity rise, especially once his opponents began to walk away from matches with small, but painful, burns. Like any good French boy, Issachar was a heavy smoker from a young age, and it was widely assumed that he cheated during the matches (although it should be noted that no one ever saw a cigarette on his person while he was fighting.)

Issachar was fully aware of what he was, and he kept it as quiet as he could, barely acknowledging it himself except when his abilities posed serious health dangers.

At age fifteen, tired of the discipline and pious hypocrasy at the work-home, Issachar took his leave and left the city with his only boyhood companion--also a mutant-- eventually getting a job at the Blouin Luc sawmill in St-Jean-d'Orléans. He was fired after getting into one-too-many brawls with fellow employees (none of whom, he is quick to point out, were actually from Quebec. This is a very valid reason to knock someone's block off. Obviously.) More specifically, he was fired after a co-worker, a pleasant father of three from Newfoundland that was in for the winter season, ended up in the ICU burn-ward on the brink of death.

With no education to speak of, no responsibilities, and a warrant for his arrest, Issachar decided it was a choice time to travel. He thumbed his way across the border and has been on the move since.

Age: 64
Allegiance: The United States of America
Height: 5'5
Weight: 140 lbs.
Nationality: American

She has been in government in one form or another since she graduated from Yale with a masters in political science at the age of 25. She is in her second term as Senator and is currently running for President of the United States.

Party: Republican
Political Soapboxes: Matilda is vocally against open borders and vows to end the flood of illegal aliens into the US. Paticularly she promises to deliver legislation that will document and deport all illegal mutants that are caught inside the country, regardless of their home country's stance on mutant rights. "The mutant issue is tough enough without importing more problems from other countries."

She has voted for mutant rights several times during her terms as senator, though the growing terror concern has caused her to admit that the current administration's policies may need re-examining once she takes office.

Daniel Cohen
Mar 28th, 2008, 10:49:22 PM
Name: Daniel David Cohen
Alias: N/A
Age: 49
Allegiance: Let me check the Gallup polls.
Height: 5'11"
Weight: Don't ask, don't tell.
Nationality: American
Powers: Strong public appeal

Biography: A dark horse in the 2008 Presidential primaries, Daniel David Cohen joined the political scene only six years ago, rising quickly from a seat in the New York state legislature to the governor's office in Connecticut. He has pioneered a number of new government programs for studying and addressing the mutant phenomenon, including compensation for families whose mutant children volunteer for medical research. His administration has seen the founding of the Jericho Center for Genetic Medicine, an advanced facility where mutants receive the advanced care they need entirely at the state's expense. His progressive stance on the mutant phenomenon is widely credited to his experience as a senior corporate officer with the GenTech pharmaceutical company.

Political 'Soapboxes': Shaw is a strong advocate of equal rights amongst humans and mutants alike. He opposes the idea of a national register of mutants, and instead wishes to encourage the development of human-mutant relations.

Vipul Chandrashekar
Mar 30th, 2008, 12:13:47 AM
Name: Vipul Chandrashekar
Alias: Legion
Age: 25
Allegiance: Non-aligned (for now)
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 160 pounds
Nationality: Indian
Powers: Body Mitosis (creating identical copies of himself), and collective thought & awareness between his duplicates.
Weaknesses: Cannot recall duplicates, which will exist until killed. Too many duplicates and/or too many tasks for each to do causes confusion and problems without training to control them better.

Biography: Originally a polymer chemist for Dow Industries in Dehli, Vipul found his gifts in a sudden fashion. Late for his live-in girlfriend's birthday, and forced to work overtime at the lab, he felt a sudden panic at having to be so many places at once, and in a sudden violent reaction, spawned a second body which grew from his side. Bewildered and frightened, he realized that this doppelganger was somehow also himself.

He tried to take full advantage of his gift, but when a third doppelganger spawned, he found it difficult to live his life and avoid exposing his secret. Confiding to his girlfriend, he was devastated when she ran shrieking from him. He couldn't sweep this under the rug, and something had to be done.

Taya Robbins
Mar 31st, 2008, 01:03:14 AM
Name: Taya Robbins<o></o>
Age: 16
Allegiance: Cullen's Institute (student)
Height: 5’1” (not including ears)
Weight: 94 lbs.
Nationality: American
Birthplace: San Mateo, CA

Powers: Taya’s mutation has morphed her into a catlike form with a feline face and ears, enlarged hands and feet, retractable claws, a coat of tawny fur, and a long, flexible tail. With her feline appearance have come heightened senses, athleticism, and balance. If she possesses any other superhuman abilities, she hasn't discovered them yet.

Bio: The only child of an affluent couple in San Mateo, California, Taya's mutation began to manifest itself during her puberty in a drastic and terrifying fashion. Her body began a process of change down to her very bone structure, and upon examination, she was diagnosed with an active X-gene. Fearing she was suffering from a random physical mutation, her parents began seeking ways to halt or even reverse her transformation, and they spent the better part of a year hopping from hospital to hospital to investigate emerging treatments. But after one such treatment nearly killed her, they resolved to wait out the transformation in hopes that her body was following some sort of genetic roadmap.

Meridian
Mar 31st, 2008, 11:24:18 PM
Name: Marianne C. Randall
Alias: Meridian
Age: 24
Occupation: Scientist at Area 51
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 130 pounds
Nationality: American
Powers: Originally, Meridian's abilities consisted of radiating and storing charged particles by using a constant electro-magnetic field; her entire body served as a Penning Trap. This unique mutation enabled her to generate ideal measurements of ions and subatomic particles; however, her research in Roswell has influenced and even warped the precedent. Antimatter allows her to charge inanimate objects with antiparticles and causes them to explode once they meet their target. Overall; Lethal accuracy, composition altering energy, and substance detonation.
Weaknesses: There are limitations on her abilities as she has the tendency to overheat easily. The bigger the object, the longer it takes to alter.

Biography: Coming soon

Bandage
Apr 8th, 2008, 08:43:21 PM
Name: Unknown.
Alias: Bandage.
Race: Unknown.
Sex: Male.
Ethnic Background: Unknown.
Mutant: ----
Age: Unknown.
Height: 5'9".
Weight: 160lbs.
Hair Color: Unknown.
Eye Color: Unknown.
Mutant Traits/Powers: Exhibits strange extrasensory and psychic abilities; extremely powerful telekinetic abilities; unknown potential healing factor or self-sustaining ability.
Current Residence: Not on file.

Perhaps the strangest individual currently under observation at The Jericho Center for Genetic Medicine, this creature is kept in the very sublevels of the facility, an entire floor devoted (a better term might be deserted) to keep the creature there.

Initially, a refrigerated container showed up as an extra part of a shipping manifest to Jericho, and upon opening the container, its contents were revealed: a body, male in sex, unknown in origin, severely burned, and barely alive, seeming to be in a comatose state. Upon seeing it, the doctor in charge thought the shipment to be a joke or a hoax, and thought of ordering to have it euphanized. But, before that order could even be given, the thing in the casing awakened, sitting up. Armed guards who were at the doors were suddenly telekinetically disarmed of all their weapons, along with all the staff who carried anything that could be used as a weapon. The doctor in charge found himself being slowly choked by his tie, and was later completely asphyxiated with it. Upon the doctor's death, the thing's assault on the room ceased, and the weapons were dropped to the ground, able to be retrieved. No individual thought to fight back. The thing was then escorted to an area where it would recieve treatment.

The treatment would've consisted of the use of hypodermic needles, but upon impact on the charred skin's surface, the needles seemed to be bent or flexed irreversibly, ruining them. Any medication was rejected. Any drugged food seemed to somehow find it's way back to the individuals who sent it, causing several cases of personnel being hospitalized for drug-related injuries. The only real medical treatment allowed by this thing was the changing of the bandages that surrounded its dessicated body. And even analzysis of the samples left on the bandages were somehow tampered with or otherwise unusable in analysis.

The subject is able to, and is allowed, to wander Jericho's grounds, but is seldom seen unless he wants to be seen. This leads to viewing of the burning man, and starts up rumors of the grounds being haunted by a man who was destroyed in a fire some time ago. The subject seems intelligent enough to communicate verbally, but either does so empathically, or simply chooses not to. It's mental capacity seems almost like a child, inquisitive in nature. Though while the inquisitive nature seems to make it child-like and harmless, the thing is indeed capable of complex thoughts and processes. This can lead to disastrous results, which lead to the belief that though this thing exhibits mutant-like traits, it may not even be human.

The staff around it dubbed him Bandage, due to the wrappings surrounding it's body. It currently resides at Jericho, and is fed and taken care of by the staff, though they are reluctant to, and are court-ordered, not to divulge information involving this subject.

Note: I'm planning to transfer Bandage over to the X-Men universe. Any Star Wars related biography or information on him is irrelevant to this setting.

Apollo
Apr 9th, 2008, 05:13:20 AM
Name: Lucca Fratellini
Alias: Apollo
Age: 33
Occupation: Nightclub owner
Allegiance: Neutral/himself
Height: 5'11"
Nationality: Italian
Powers: Highly accelerated healing factor, immunity to illness and disease. Although he may sustain sufficient injuries to be 'out of comission' for some time, these wounds will always heal. He is also able to extend his gift to others, through physical contact - though the limitation of his power in this respect is unknown, and often requires greater time than healing his own injuries. Whilst healing himself or others, Lucca radiates an intense white light. When his ability is passive, the light manifests as a soft golden aura.

Biography: Owner of the exclusive nightclub 'Domus Area' (Golden House), Fratellini is a luminary amongst the mutants and non-mutants alike. His mutant-exclusive club has gained a large amount of national press, making Lucca something of a celebrity. In spite of a number of high-profile interviews and photoshoots for magazines such as L'Uomo Vogue, very little personal information is known about him.

Name: Jan Claasen du Toit
Allegiance: Praetorian Consulting Corp. (subordinate to Vanguard)
Age: 44
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 190 pounds
Nationality: South African (Afrikaner)
Powers: Innoculated with the genetic resequencer Phenodyne, invented by Vanguard. Gene manipulating drug enhances all senses 50% beyond mean human sample population, as well as increasing strength, speed, and endurance by 25% above human sample population. Side effects include nosebleeds, extreme mood swings, and insomnia.

Bio:

1980's - Served as a Lieutenant in the Apartheid government's 32 Battalion "Buffaloes", an elite covert operations unit designed to fight communists in Namibia, Angola, and elsewhere.

1986 - Operation Orange. Supported anti-communist insurgents in Angola, rumored to have committed human rights atrocities after South African intervention ended.

1987 - Njambe incident. Communist leader Charles Njambe assassinated in Namibia. The attack is rumored to be carried out by proxy by 32 Battalion . du Toit is detained in Namibia with a tourism visa, and eventually expelled without being charged.

1990's - Apartheid ends, and 32 Battalion is disbanded. White Afrikaners within the Battalion find work in other military units and the private sector. Most black veterans remain unemployed outside of Pretoria.

1995 - Executive Outcomes forms as the first of many private military contractors funded by Western corporate interests. Jan du Toit joins as a contractor, tasked to go into Angola to train government forces under the de Santos junta against UNITA rebels. The actual truth is that Executive Outcomes is manned almost entirely by former 32 Battalion members. The operation puts EO forces into direct combat along with the Angolan government against UNITA, which successfully protects British oil interests in the region.

Soon after Angola, Executive Outcomes is disbanded.

1997 - Sandline International is formed from the ashes of Executive Outcomes, and Jan also seeks employment with this new mercenary company. His resume with Sandline includes contracting on an aborted mission to Papua New Guinea, as well as attempted regime change in Sierra Leone. Each incident is rumored to be motivated by material acquisition. In Papua New Guinea, it is copper. In Sierra Leone, it is diamonds. du Toit is one of the few white mercenaries in each operation to escape international prosecution.

2003 - After a period of odd jobs and a listless existence, du Toit signs on with one of many of the new private military contractors that have sprung up in recent years - Praetorian Consulting. His experience is sought directly by Jack Brocius, who considers Jan's sage experience in the bush wars of Africa to be vital in his upcoming plans.

Phobia

Name: Esper Donovan
Alias: Phobia
Age: 17
Allegiance: Cullen's Institute (student)
Height: 5'5"
Nationality: Greek

Limitations: Certain fears are difficult or impossible to mimic. Only one form can be taken at a time.

Chartis
Apr 18th, 2008, 05:16:12 AM
Chartis

Name: Clarity Cleine

Allegiance: Independant

Age: 32

Height: 5'0

Nationality: Swiss

Powers: Clarity is an exceptionally powerful teleporter. She has the ability to travel to any location with unfailing accuracy.

Although only playing a small part in her power, it is of interest to note that Clarity's brain tissue contains high levels of magnetite--the same iron oxide found in sea turtles. It's presence allows her to draw upon variations in Earth's magnetic field, which give each geographic area a distinctive magnetic pattern. Clarity can detect and distinguish the magnetic fields in different locations, enabling her to compile a mental "magnetic map" for aid in navigating to specific areas.

Weaknesses: Like many mutants, her powers take a toll on her physical reserves when used for prolonged periods or complicated tasks.

The high levels of magnetic particles in her brain make her a target for those mutants who are able to manipulate such elements.

Ironically, she is very nearsighted.

Bio: Born in Zurich to a Swiss diplomat whose wife soon thereafter died, Clarity Cleine was taught by the finest tutors and travelled extensively by typical means until she was fifteen.

An unexpected teleportation to Egypt during an archeological history lesson cemented the need for a different sort of instruction. Sent to the United States, Clarity attended the prestigious Cullen's Institute where the extroverted youth thrived. She remained there some years after completing her secondary education before departing to attend Cambridge University.

After obtaining her master's degree in developmental psychology, Clarity took a job in her native Switzerland working with troubled mutant youths. She was a frequent visitor to Cullen's until a few years ago.

Clarity currently lives in George Town, Grand Cayman with her son.

Randall Rudd
Apr 20th, 2008, 08:32:36 PM
Name: Randall Rudd
Allegiance: Non-Aligned
Age: 40
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 180 pounds
Nationality: American
Powers: Complete cellular regeneration. Can regenerate from any injury within seconds to a few minutes, even if only a single living cell remains. The downside is that severe injuries can leave behind chronic, possibly psychosomatic trauma and pains, which Randall often turns to painkillers and alcohol to lessen.

Bio:
Randall owns his own plumbing business in Monogah, West Virginia, and has been raising his young daughter alone since his wife Shirley Faye died in 2006. Now, he's struggling to keep his family together and above the rising waters of financial ruin in this poor Appalachian town. His daughter has a secret that could save his family, or ruin it utterly.

Name: Viktor Voranova
Alias: Cryo
Allegiance: Himself
Age: 23
Height: 6'2
Weight: 168 pounds
Nationality: Russian
Powers: Police records show that the serial killer known as "Cryo" has extensive control over thermal energy; enabling him to dispel and absorb heat from objects that are both organic and inorganic. Curiously, the only hint of Cryo's presence at the crime scenes are shards of frozen remains from his victims and a dense mist that is both eerie and frigid. Other details concerning the murderer are classified.

Freight Train
Apr 23rd, 2008, 08:48:12 PM
Name: Doesn't matter.
Alias: Freight Train
Age: 14
Allegiance: Cullen's Institute (student)
Height: 4'6"
Nationality: American
Powers: Freight Train's powers are always active. When she walks or runs, her body exerts more force than normal. The amount of extra force generated is proportional to how fast she's going. At a stroll, she simply bumps people a little harder than normal. At a sprint, it's a little more like being hit by a dumptruck...or, as her name more accurately implies, a Freight Train. While moving she gains supernatural durability; she can plow through thiick walls without sustaining damage. However, her endurance does not increase, and while still she can be hurt normally.

Bio: Chelsea Elizabeth Wagner was born in northern Ohio to a middle-class family. Her parents encouraged her to be active, limiting her time indoors, especially in front of a TV or video game console. She tried several sports before choosing basketball as her favorite. She practiced hard with her father, who signed her up to play recreationally starting at age seven.

Her powers manifested on the playground while she was in the sixth grade. A group of high schoolers had approached them and tried to bully them off the court. Chelsea, not to be shooed off without a fight, tackled one of them when he threatened them with violence. The force of her 80 pound shrimp body sent his 200 pound, all-muscle physique skidding nearly eight feet across the court. His compatriots laughed, and one of them said the phrase that she would later draw her codename from:

"Babygirl done freight train'ed yo' sorry butt, son!"

However, both her opponents and her friends quickly realized that such a feat should not have been possible, and Chelsea ran from the court, afraid that they would turn her in and feeling guilty about what she had done. Her parents withdrew her from school for a year, helping her to cope with her new powers and researching helpful institutions that could help her further. At last they settled on Cullen's Institute, and sent her with their well-wishes.

Chelsea has fully accepted her mutantcy, and feels a great amount of pride in her powers. She refuses to be called by the name her parents gave her, partly because her codename helps to fuel her sense of pride, and partly because she never much liked the name "Chelsea" to begin with. She also refuses to call her fellow mutants by their given names, choosing instead to use nicknames, or their own codenames, should they reveal them to her.

Powers: Ms. Cato, or as she prefers simply Cato, is immortal. She has lived since presumably the dawn of time, watching and observing the goings on about her. While she cannot be killed, she can get sick like any other person, and feels pain like any human.

Bio: Evelyn Cato is a rather private person, and consorts only with those she chooses. She has spent considerable amount of time writing accounts of the mutants that she has met throughout the ages, and collecting trinkets and odds and ends from each period of time that she has lived through.

Pedro Calaveras
Apr 26th, 2008, 11:18:26 AM
Name: Pedro Calaveras
Code Name: n/a
Allegiance: Who wants to know?
Age: 25
Height: 6'
Weight: Heavy enough to knock you out.
Nationality: Mexican
Powers: Has the ability to transform his entire body into diamond-hard stone. When he transforms, he gains at least a foot in height and doubles in weight. In this state, he has superhuman strength, stamina and durability.

Beau Green
Apr 26th, 2008, 05:50:10 PM
Name: Beau Green
Code Name: Strike (he's testing out nicknames at this point in time)
Allegiance: none
Age: 31
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 195 lbs.
Nationality: American
Powers: Bio-electricity. Beau can generate electricity with his body, resulting in a charge that will shock whatever he touches. If given enough time he can generate a large enough electric charge to create a spark between him and a near object/person.

Weakness: creating electric charge uses energy - if he is tired he won't be able to create a huge charge, and charging up will tire him after time. If electricity is not dispersed by grounding it is possible for him to cook his own brain. In theory. He chooses not to test this hypothesis.

Roo
Apr 27th, 2008, 05:35:55 PM
Name: Rudolph Mitchell
Code Name: Roo
Powers: Limited shape-shifting abilities. Has a pouch like a kangroo, which is usually full of shoplifted goods and cigarettes.

Nuro Alston
May 9th, 2008, 03:05:04 PM
Name: Noru Alston.
Alias: N/A (possibly be "Free")
Age: 18
Allegiance: Cullen's Institute (student)
Height: 6'0
Nationality: American
Ethnicity: Ethiopian/Haitian
Powers: Noru has the ability to shapeshift inanimate objects to the limits of his imagination, as well as living organism only to that of another at which he has contact with. All shapeshifting of objects and organisms requires contact through his palms or hands. The complexities of human shapeshifting/alchemy is beyond him, but he can siphon human energy to surge his own. He unconsciously conserves this energy, which is the same type of energy he siphons with shapeshifting. This energy keeps his body attuned at peak performence in dexterity and endurance (unlike Captain America...more like Nightcrawler).

The energy change would only have the side-effects on the target in terms of mood, and/or intensity of behavior, nothing biologically noticeable or physical. Full body contact is required to siphon energy, such as a hug or tight hold or other forms of complete physical interaction. However, to siphon energy in these manners of full body contact he must have had physical contact on more than one occasion previous as a way of familiarizing the body. Also, he has on one occasion shifted a sound frequency to be something to his likened. The amount of energy required for such an act is expensive, and is unknown if it can be replicated.

All of his powers are focused on contact. So basically touches thingys, and can change them at will...under some physical conditions.

Weakness: In spite of being a mutant, he still is a human...basically. All of his powers are double-edged. In conservation of these energies that he takes on, his mind becomes all the more scattered and the string of "random" thinking and chaos mentally can be overhauled because there is no conscious temper to these energies. It is as though he was in a Starbucks Drinking contest, after coming 2nd to the most hyper kid in a Sugar Intake toournament. Everything becomes nonsensical, and leaves him for an extreme high that makes for a heavy fall which is comparable is a drug addiction of sorts.

This high is characterized as unable to stay still, focus for more than .1 second and inability to interact directly with any person on a communicative or physical level, ruling out touching someone for more than a second and/or body language. So, basically he can not conserve excessive amount of energy at one time under his present control of his powers. He burns out this energy with excercise of these energies, such as physical excertion.

Also, he requires social interaction for his powers to even manifest. Even if he tries to shapeshift an inanimate object he must be in the vacinity of another being (whether human or animal).

Stern
May 9th, 2008, 03:30:05 PM
Name: Michael Stern
Alias: (He like Stern)
Age: 21
Allegiance: Neutral
Height: 5'6"
Ethinicity: Caucasian
Powers: Stern generates light. He can project beams of light from his hands like a flashlight and can focus the beams to burn things. Stern can also manipulate the color spectrum to a degree and possibly the invisible spectrum as well.

As part of his mutation, his hair is clear. It takes the color of the spectrum of light he is dealing with at the moment. His eyes are also very photo-sensitive, which requires him to wear goggles with a heavy tint when in anything but very faint light. Stern also glows faintly in the dark.

Stern needs sunlight to maintain his mutant powers. If he spends a great deal of time underground or in total darkness, his powers eventually fade. His skin indicates the amount of energy he has stored for his powers: As they decrease, he gets paler, whereas a full charge leaves him very tan.

Stern's powers are continuing to evolve, so more on those as the story progresses.

Weakness: Apart from the risk of being blinded by his own powers, Stern is very achluophobic. This fear is offset only as long as his powers remain and he can project light around himself. If his powers go out while he is in the dark, he is overcome with fear.

Todd Abrahams
May 23rd, 2008, 03:39:42 PM
Name: Todd Abrahams
Alias: None at this time
Age: 14
Allegiance: Cullen's (student)
Height: 5'5"
Ethinicity: African American
Powers: Animal mimicry; is able to temporarily mimic the abilities of animals he has come into contact with. In order 'borrow' these attributes he must have direct physical contact with the subject.

Biography:

Boring. That's what Todd Abrahams thinks about his home town of Gold Beach, Oregon. So it's a good thing that his parents are absolutely mental and were always dragging him and his older sister off to foreign countries to feed starving children, build wells in poor communities, and launch attacks against facist governments.

Adopted as an infant from the Ethiopian village of Gesuba, Todd had no idea of how fortunate he was. Thomas and Genevieve Abrahams, active and vocal demonstrators in the fight for mutant rights, were very adamant in their desire to adopt a child who was likely a carrier of the X-gene. If they hadn't been so insistent, he most likely would have been left to die in the bush.

Todd has had a fairly normal life (as normal as one can have, with parents like his.) Unlike his sister Tess, he chose to attend public school where he achieved little academically but was well-liked. He and his friends did all the usual things--built forts in the woods, dared each other to jump over the ravine with their bikes, tormented their sisters, etc.

Since early childhood Todd has always had an affinity for animals and as he grew older and his powers manifested themselves, it became clear that this was no mere chance. One day while tying a noisemaker to the tail of his sister's old beagle (just about the only animal he doesn't like), Todd found that he could quite suddenly smell everything, and began to drool uncontrollably. Subsequent (much cooler) experiments proved that it was not an isolated incident.

When his big sister Tess went off to the Cullen's Institute, Todd was a little miffed. After all, she wasn't the only one with powers--but Thomas and Genevieve were still a little sceptical. After hearing nothing but raving reviews from their daughter, however, they changed their minds and Todd was told that he would be attending after they returned from their six-month stint in Serbia.

With his constant companion Makepeace, a three-legged grey squirrel, in tow, Todd finally returned home and packed his bags to head off on his own grand adventure.

Name: Naida Lekkas
Code Name: Triton
Allegiance: Cullen's Institute - Soon to be student
Age: 21
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 145 lbs.
Nationality: Greek
Powers: Healing Factor/Underwater abilities (Swimming, breathing underwater, depth tolerance, speed and strength increases while in water)/Empathic Bond with Aquatic Life
Bio: While enjoying an evening of boating off the coast of Kythira, Naida and her friends inadvertently were caught in a storm. They were not able to get to shore quick enough as the sea violently lurched the small boat into a bed of rocks.

Naida had no idea how long she had been out for, but when she awoke underwater, caught between the jagged rocks off the coast, one thing was certain ... She was no ordinary human.

Since loosing all of her friends in that accident, Naida has spent more time in the sea then on land, exploring the wonders and dangers that mere humans could never truly appreciate with their wet suits, oxygen tanks, and easily fogged up goggles.

Stuntman
Jun 12th, 2008, 11:05:51 AM
Name: Donald Carradine
Codename: Stuntman
Allegiance: Vigilante hero
Age: appears to be about 40 years old
Height: 5’8”
Nationality: American
Species: Human
Powers: Super-agile and stronger than the average human. Has an uncanny sense of situational awareness. An Olympic-level athlete and experience stuntman, capable of piloting and driving most any vehicle on Earth. An accomplished acrobat and martial artist, with blackbelts in both Kung Fu and Muy Thai kickboxing. An experienced marksman with various martial arts and retains knowledge of demolitions, picked up while doing independent action films at the beginning of his career.
Equipment: A suit of Kevlar and flame-retardant material, steel-toed boots, gloves with metal knuckles and a ballistic motorcycle helmet with a UV resistant shade, police scanner, and voice changer. The cape is purely aesthetic.
Backstory: Donald Carradine is an accomplished news reporter with a wife and two children. This was not always the case. Donald Carradine was once famous stuntman Gene Howard. Prior to Gene’s success, he became involved in the black market, selling stolen equipment from movie sets as a small-time stuntman for independent films. It was through mob “connections” that forcibly imbued him with his abilities. Throughout his double life as both a guinea pig mob thug and stuntman, he fell in love with his wife, Charlotte, an aspiring actress who helped him accomplish himself as a superior stuntman. His fame drove him further from crime and closer to starting a family with Charlotte, unknowingly being an expectant father. Upon news of Charlotte’s pregnancy, Gene confronted the leader and announced his “retirement”, fronting a large sum of cash as a bargaining chip. Displeased, the leader sent out a hit on his family. One night the mob broke into his home and killed his newborn daughter, leaving him a wreck. He fled to the police and with his and his wife’s influence, they expedited their identity change through the witness protection program, sending them far to the east coast of the United States. It was here that Donald decided to use his abilities for good after prolonged hiatus from film. Through his piloting experience he landed a job as a helicopter reporter, mostly reporting traffic and sometimes flying a media chopper and reporting from the sky. Now, Donald uses his vigilante persona Stuntman to fight crime that plagues his past under the banner of justice.
Avatars: Evel Knievel (costume and bike), and Timothy Olyphant.

Captain Untouchable
Jun 17th, 2008, 10:32:48 PM
Name: Captain Thomas J. Harriman, PhD
Alias: Captain Untouchable
Age: 32
Allegiance: Independant (at the moment)
Height: 5'10"
Nationality: British (Scotish)
Powers: Martial Arts Training, Kinetic Field *, Propulsive Telekinesis *

- - -

Background:

Born in the city of Inverness in Scotland, Harriman was always a smart kid. A high-achiever at school, he went on to study Quantum and Cosmological Physics at university, achieving a first class (Honours) degree in the subject. Always an athletic individual - Harriman trained in a number of martial arts including Kung Fu, Kendo and Karate - he decided that the prospect of spending the rest of his life stuck in a research lab didn't really conform to his goals, and instead decided to join the military.

Harriman joined the British Army as an Officer, and served with distinction as a Paratrooper for a number of years, eventually achieving the rank of Captain. During his time as a 'trooper, he gained quite a reputation as a boxer: the fact that his opponents seldom managed to land a punch earned him the nickname "Captain Untouchable". Eventually however, the source of his prowess was revealed: Harriman posessed the mutant X gene. With the world still wary of mutants, the British Army recommended that Harriman take an extended medical leave of absense until his condition could be "cured".

With over a decade of his life "wasted", Harriman found himself without anything to do, until he was contacted by a former lecturer who had taken up a professorship at the City University of New York. He had heard of Harriman's "situation", and was intrigued by the mutant phenomenon in general; he offered Harriman a placement as a postgraduate student in exchange for the Captain's assistance in his research. Harriman earned a doctorate for his studies in Particle Physics and Quantum Forces, the studies of which helped him come to understand the nature and limitations of his own mutant powers.

Harriman grew restless in the lab however, as he had expected. Eventually, he decided to fashion an identity for himself that would combine his Martial Arts experience, military training, and of course his powers. Taking up his old Army nickname of "Captain Untouchable", he set out to become a ninja vigilante not unlike Robin Hood: protecting the innocent from the crimes of the corrupt.

- - -

Equipment:

Katana - Because what self-respecting ninja doesn't have one?

Throwing Knives - Untouchable is able to accelerate these with his powers. However, unlike normal throwing daggers (which tumble through the air), the nature of Untouchable's powers causes these to fly in a straight line, like a dart.

Longbow - A fan of archery in his youth, Untouchable is able to accelerate the arrows fired from his bow, increasing the range and accuracy considerably (although, as far as the soldier in him is concerned, its no substitute for a good M16).

Retractable Kama - A pair of piercing weapons similar to an ice pick, the head on this weapon is separated from the grip, held in place with a long, retractable chord. Untouchable is able to "fire" the head of these weapons out with his powers, and can then activate the retraction mechanism to withdraw the head back towards him. This allows them to be used as a whip-like reach weapon, and as a crude "grappling gun".

- - -

* Powers:

Kinetic Field: Untouchable has the ability to generate a "force field" around his body. This functions by providing negative momentum to any object passing through it, so that slow-moving objects will be propelled away from his body, while fast-moving objects can be slowed down or deflected. This makes it near-impossible for anyone without super speed to physically touch him, and also allows him to deflect (but not stop) bullets: a direct hit will still make it through, although at a slower pace. The forcefield also only affects objects with mass (including electrical and plasma attacks), but cannot stop non-physical affects (such as fire/heat-based attacks, telekinesis, etc).

Propulsive Telekinesis: Untouchable's telekinesis powers are limited in that they can only repel an object away from his body. This allows him to accelerate thrown objects like darts and shuriken, as well as "punch" opponents over a short distance, but doesn't allow him to pull objects towards him, or manipulate objects that have passed outside his Kinetic Field: he can only use this power in a straight line.

Decibel
Jun 18th, 2008, 01:06:32 AM
[ Not sure if there is someone that needs to okay this character, so I'll post this here and if there is any concern or questions about him please pm me. :) ]

Name: Hunter Ryan<o></o>
Code Name: Decibel<o></o>
Allegiance: Cullen's Institute - new student enrollment<o></o>
Age: 18<o></o>
Eyes: Blue<o></o>
Hair: Brown<o></o>
Height: 5' 10"<o></o>
Weight: 168 lbs.<o></o>
Nationality: American<o></o>
Powers: Decibel can turn ambient sounds into concussive waves of energy from emitting a small pulse from his hand to a full 360 degree dispersion. Extent of damage can range from moving an object/person out of the way, to blowing it to pieces. Decibel is also a telepath, his only way to communicate.<o></o>
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]-->
Weakness: Decibel's ability to turn sound into physical energy is also his weakness. Like Cyclops with his eyes, so is Decibel with his ears. He has no control at all in the amount of sound he takes in. He must wear a specially made headset to filter noise for him to hear properly. If the headset were to be taken off, all the ambient sound would assault his ear canals and in short overload his power threshold. It would result in him writhing silently in pain before blacking out. Once he goes unconscious, Decibel's body will continue to take in all noise and build up power. Being unconscious, the only way for his body to relieve this overload would be for it to releases energy in waves every 5 seconds. <o>

</o> Only way to stop it would be for someone to get to him, passed the sound bursts and completely cover his ears.<o>
</o><o></o>
Special Equipment: Decibel must wear a custom made headset, which attaches on the back of his head and envelopes his ears. The headset digitally and safely filters noise in order for him to hear normal sounds. Use in conjunction with his power, the headset is controlled remotely with a switch on his belt buckle. The switch controls micro shutters to open and close. The more open they are the more noise is allowed in and the greater the force of his blasts. And so forth in the opposite.

Bio: *In the works and posting it soon*

Aidan Fox
Jul 10th, 2008, 10:01:58 PM
Name: Aidan Fox
Code Name: Firestorm
Allegiance: Soon to be Cullen's (student)
Age: 17
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 160 lbs.
Nationality: American
Powers: Aidan is a powerful fire elemental. He can project blue-colored flames from his body at short range and shape them into whatever form he chooses. He can expand and intensify the flames by burning up fuel around him. The results are spectacular and devastating.

He can also shift to an elemental "fire form" which greatly increases his resistance to injury and grants him a variety of abilities, including the ability to move as fire - to fly when there is sufficient wind or to pass through flammable barriers. This facet of his mutation is a recent development and is not fully under his control; at present, it leaves him profoundly exhausted.

Bio: Very little is generally known about Aidan's past, and he prefers to keep it that way. In fact, anyone who tries looking into his background may well come away with the impression that he doesn't have one. Clearly there is more to this lone wolf than meets the eye.

Quane
Jul 21st, 2008, 05:39:00 PM
Name: Charlize Quane
Code Name: Quane
Allegiance: Independent
Age: 24
Height: 5'4"
Nationality: Canadian
Powers: Quane has powerful invisibility abilities on herself as well as on objects, up to thousands cubic feet of volume without causing any visible distortions in her surroundings. She can also generate almost indestructible force fields. When straining herself while using her powers, she can cause herself mental pain and usually needs a long period of sleep to recover. As of yet, she hasn't gotten any training in armed forces or martial arts, making her rather physically weak.

Bio: Quane still hasn't realized that she has mutant powers. More to come.

Verde
Jul 27th, 2008, 11:00:42 AM
Name: Carlos Salva-Mar
Code Name: Verde
Allegiance: None
Age: 23
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 165 lbs
Nationality: Argentinian
Powers: Plant based, though at this point all he can do is command greenery.

Bio: Born in Códoba, Argentina, Carlos Selva-Mar lead a relatively normal, albeit poor, life with his familia outside the city. However, when his mutation became apparent a wary eye was turned towards him and his familia. Strange and unusual plants began to spring up in the neighborhood and often in uncommon places. Locals suspected many reasons for the occurances but no one suspected that the mutant population had increased by one in the city of Córdoba; least of all Carlos Selva-Mar.

Then it happened. While simply walking home his mutant potential exploded within him. His senses became attuned to the plantlife, he understood the strange occurances in the city. His skin cells filled with chlorophyll and then the whole world knew it was him. The plants were coming to him, speaking to him. They had a message.

His familia had been taken hostage. While he knew nothing of the mutation the federal government was two steps ahead. The plants had been trying to warn him the whole time that government agents were planning the attack. What did they want from him?

Most mutants, when they turned up, simply disappeared shortly thereafter. It was assumed the left the country, if one has wings why not fly to heaven. Some believed there was a mutant avalon out there. When they flocked to live in their Homo Superior society. Others suggested the government coearced them to into service. There was a new arms race: mutants.

Carlos Selva-Mar fled. They only kept his familia captive because they would lead them to him. If he cut himself off from them, they would be fine. The federal govenment was ambitious, but not monsters. It would be best to leave, so he told himself.

He fled, across the continent to the Rio Grande, where he swam to free land. Land where he had no legal right to walk on. Without citizenship he couldn't get a job. Plants were at his command and the drug trade was a cash only business. It was an evil that would serve its purpose, regrettfully. At this point anything to keep away from Argentina would do.

Since that hot July day when he swam across the Rio Grande, Carlos has never been stationary. Using the drug trade to feed and clothe him, he has kept moving. All the while he's learning about the real mutant world in the most powerful nation on earth. It's a big, bad world out there and he's going to get his slice.

Ricky Rider
Aug 4th, 2008, 08:24:26 PM
Name: Ricky Rider
Code Name: None, yet
Allegiance: Independent, for now
Age: 19
Height: 5'6"
Nationality: American
Powers: Ricky's body absorbs energy from natural and artificial light and transforms it into concussive bursts of energy, which he can fire from any point on his body (though he favors his eyes, palms, and chest). The concussive energy can be reflected from mirrors. He is not immune to his own powers.

Bio: In the Making

Boulder
Sep 14th, 2008, 06:34:35 PM
Name: William Johnson
Alias: Boulder
Allegiance: Independent
Age: 22
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 234 lbs
Nationality: North American
Powers: Geo-control. Boulder can control and manipulate rocks and minerals whether they be in the ground, cement, bricks, asphalt, and any other substance with many natural minerals in them. Also has tremor sense. (can sense vibrations in the ground that correlate to objects / people. A second sight of sorts)
Weaknesses: Hurting people smaller or less strong than Boulder since Boulder was bullied in his past. If possible, Boulder prefers to just get people out of his way. (Note: Due to character development, this hindrance has been repressed due to his involvement with Feral.)
Bio: The Boulder has always been drawn to the earth from a young age. As a boy, he used to love going outside and playing in the dirt, which, for a kid growing up in the slums, was not too unusual. Collecting rocks is a hobby of The Boulder's, as he loves the uniqueness that each individual rock holds. Upon entering the local elementary school, The Boulder found himself moving rocks without touching them, but when The Boulder tried to repeat it again, The Boulder was not able to do so, and so, ignored it. In Middle School, The Boulder began having troubles with bullies, and when The Boulder got mad, bricks in the walls of the school would break loose and fall to the ground. The Boulder began taking note of this, and began trying to harness his inner abilities again. The Boulder began doing work outs with rocks, large and small, ranging from free lifting, carrying long distances, and throwing, to moving him with his ability in order to bulk up to deal with the bullies of the school system who followed The Boulder into High School. As the years passed, The Boulder was able to gain control over rocks and, coupled with his size (The Boulder grew quite fast during The Boulder's growth spurt) The Boulder brought down The Boulder's justice on the school bullies. A few broken bones, beat-up bullies, and walls reduced to piles of rubble later, The Boulder was promptly expelled from school. For a few years The Boulder tried to get jobs, but was fired when walls started shaking or other unexplainable things happened around The Boulder. Now, The Boulder tries to make life better in order to get The Boulder's family out of the metro slums the only way The Boulder knows how. Smash and grab. Emphasis on smash.

Doktor Klaus Heidegger
Sep 14th, 2008, 07:52:31 PM
Name:Doktor Klaus Heidegger
Alias: None
Affiliation: Jericho
Age: 30

Doktor Klaus Heidegger runs a facility in Warsaw. As Europe's leading geneticist, he has made his life study of the mutant gene. His work is apparently benign. His work mostly includes suppressing the mutant genome, removing it from a person's DNA structure, and replicating the mutant gene for study.

Heidegger's motivations for studying the mutant gene is largely unknown. There are various rumors, but as far as most can tell he is only curious.

His methods of acquiring mutant DNA samples is sketchy at best and at worst violates the rights of the person he is sampling. Heidegger will not hesistate to kidnap or knock out mutants for transfer to his facility and will go to great gains to acquire new samples.

Though he shows no outward cruelty towards mutants, the results of several of his experiments have been known to cause severe damage to the mutants involved.

Oddity

Nationality: Italian-American
Powers: Probability Manipulation; the ability to alter probablity, causing unlikely things to happen, or likely things to not happen. (best explained here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domino_%28comics%29#Powers_and_abilities))

Bio: While studying abroad, Ilaria happened to see a newscast about a certain handsome, rugged mutant hunk named Feral. After several failed attempts to catch his attention at his crime scenes, she was finally able to catch his eye...by having a HUGE flare-up of her own powers. (ooc - hopefully will rp this out! Gary Cannon
Sep 24th, 2008, 05:17:31 PM
Name: Gary Cannon
Code Name: Cannon
Allegiance: Independent
Age: 38
Height: 70" (5'10")
Weight: 87.7 kgs.
Nationality: British

Powers: None. Tech based. Nanomachines injected into Cannon augment his natural abilities, giving him increased speed, strength, and agility. The tiny robots also repair his body and maintain vital functions if for any reason his body should fail to do so. Given commands, they may be directed to do a variety of other tasks. Many, many weapons. Traditional handguns, a laser beam gun / heat beam, freeze beam / ice beam, small missiles, an atom smasher modified to become a weapon by smashing atoms into his targets (very large power drain), launchers for knives / stars, a variety of hand blades such as a katana, knife sized blade that vibrates at high velocity (medium power drain), cat claws (think wolverine) for close quarters hand to hand combat. These weapons would take up more space than a person has on their body, but due to technological innovation, Cannon has several pouches in his armor that access an interdimentional rift, where most of his items are stored. Some however, are collapsable and may extend and expand in a matter of seconds to be readily available.
(more soon. Hashing out properties of the armor / helmet)

Bio: Gary Cannon is the heir of the famous British line of Cannons, who have always been leaders in technological advances, and during the rise of the English empire, crafted Cannon brand big guns, that eventually became known as simply cannons. Their fortune made, the Cannon family continued to improve and invent new technologies that helped the English government rise in power. At the age of 8, his parents were brutally butchered in front of him by Feral. This single act of brutality made a lasting impact on the young boy, and gave him an immense hatred of mutants.

"Cannon" is the Gary Cannon of 30 years in the future. In his future, many mutants had began to adopt the thought process of kill all humans so that mutants may rise. Mutant kind had grown powerful, hunted down a large majority of humans, and were creating a golden age for themselves. Advances in technology was rapid in part due to mutants, and in part due to desperate humans trying to fight back. Humans were treated as livestock, slaves, and gladiators. If a human wanted to be free, they had to have a safe place to go, and may were driven to jungles, caves, even hastily constructed underwater living bubbles.

In a bizzare time traveling warp, "Cannon", as the child Gary Cannon, witnessed a future self come back and kill Feral in retaliation for killing his parents. That version of Cannon told the current Cannon about his own horrible future and that he must stop it, and so must the boy grow up to repeat the process. The only problem was that this other Cannon who killed Feral, was labled as a lunatic and a mutant hater. He was placed in an assylum, and fearing the rise of more humans like that version of Cannon, the mass majority of mutants banded together and eventually adopted the ideals of Feral, the first major victim of anti-mutant racism, thereby causing history to repeat itself. The current Gary Cannon knew he must do things differently when he came back in time.

Cannon had a secret laboratory where he eventually moved all of his research that he had been conducting over the years. Several of the technologies Cannon possesses originate from Doktor Klaus Heidegger. About three years after the purge of mankind by mutants, Cannon finally finished his grandest project: a time machine. Cannon came back in time 30 years, to the day his parents were murdered, to make sure that they were murdered so he, as a child, could grow up to become "Cannon", and also to ensure that Feral lived, and that humankind saw what kind of monsters mutants REALLY were, so that when he surfaces to carry out his mission, he would be greeted as a hero, and not a heretic to be sent off to an insane asylum. His mission is simple: kill every mutant so that his future does not come to pass, and secure the safety and logevity of the Human race.

Rush
Sep 25th, 2008, 07:39:00 AM
Name: Jonah Murphy

Code Name: Rush

Allegiance: Cullen's Institute

Age: 17

Height: 5'9"

Weight: 175 lbs

Nationality: American

Powers:

Superhuman Speed: Rush has the ability to run up to four times the speed of sound (3069 miles per hour or 1372 meters a second). He has sufficient physical energy reserves to allow him to maintain this speed for up to one hour, before being forced to reduce his speed to replenish his body's store of energy. Typically, Rush moves at safer speeds, especially when in highly populated areas (he can cause windows to shatter with his supersonic passing), of around 200 miles per hour and seems able to maintain these slower speeds indefinitely (in excess of 6 hours) - where he must then eat a considerable amount to replenish his physical energy requirements.

Rush can use his powers of acceleration/movement for various feats: he can pluck an arrow out of the air from a standing start; he can dodge machine gun fire, being able to see the path of the bullets; he can create cyclone-like gusts of wind, which are able to knock a man off his feet; and at top speed, he is able to run across the Atlantic Ocean and to oversea continents without the need for solid mass beneath his feet.

Speed Physiology: Rush's body has adapted toward the rigors of high-speed running. His cardiovascular and respiratory systems are many times more efficient than those of a normal human being. He metabolizes an estimated 95% of the caloric energy content of foodstuffs (normal human use is about 25%). The chemical processes of Rush's musculature are so highly enhanced that his body does not generate fatigue poisons, the normal by-products of locomotion, which force the body to rest; rather, his body constantly expels waste products during his accelerated respiration through exhalation. His joints are smoother and lubricated more efficiently than those of a normal human being, his tendons have the tensile strength of spring steel, and his bones contain unknown materials significantly more durable than calcium to withstand the dynamic shocks of his feet touching the ground at speeds of over 100 miles per hour.

Rush's practical reaction time is about seven times faster than a normal human's and the speed at which his brain processes information is heightened to a level commensurate with his bodily speed, enabling him to perceive his surroundings while traveling at high velocities. Also, Rush's lachrymose is more viscous than normal, which prevents rapid evaporation and replenishment of surface fluids on his eyeballs under the influence of high wind velocity to occlude his vision.Bio: Jonah was born into a middle-class family in New York, to parents Peter and Sandra Murphy. He is the youngest of three children, and was brought up being dotted on by his mother. He attended school just like any other child, eventually grew up to have friends and a fondness for electronics. When Jonah was seven he witnessed the death of his best friend, young Josh Miller, who died of an asthma attack. This both scared the boy, and forced him to have to deal with aspects of life, years before he should have. In some ways, those closest to him believe Jonah began running as a sport, as a means of escaping from his personal fears.

At the age of thirteen, Jonah’s powers manifested. Coming home from a training run, he unintentionally stepped out in front of a car; while the vehicle managed to swerve out of the way, Jonah ran in the opposite direction as quickly as he could... and ended up in the next county across almost a blink of the eye later. Stranded and unsure of what had happened, Jonah found the closest Police station and discovered he was quite far from home. He started the journey back, still caught up on what had happened.

By the time he got home, in the late afternoon the following day, his parents had called for a search. He explained to them, reluctantly, what had happened, and how he had run faster than the wind to end up so far away. Needless to say, his parents reacted badly, astonished that their son (or any of their family) was a mutant. From then on, Jonah was treated like a disease; his family, who he thought loved him no matter what, seemed changed and didn’t treat him as well as they should have. It wasn’t uncommon for Jonah to try to join the family watching television, only to have them each walk out after the other, seemingly to do something else.

The message was clear, however, and Jonah knew that things would never be the same.

On New Years day, exactly one year after the 'accident', Jonah decided it was best for all concerned that he disappear. He took a few of his personal belongings, before he hit the road and started moving around through the streets. Initially it was tough, he had to learn how to survive quickly, but with his ability to move at incredible speeds he managed.

For the next four years, Jonah accepted his state of life; he stole what he needed, such as food and clothing, but never more than what ensured his survival - it may have been his sense of morals that kept him in check, but who knew. After a close brush with the law, Jonah decided to try going legit. He joined a local burger shop as a part-time worker, earning minimum wage but enjoying the satisfaction of earning his money. When he saved enough, he managed to put down a payment on a run-down apartment, before settling down and continuing life until he was randomly approached by a representative of a mutant school. Deciding to take his chances, Jonah accepted the invite and moved to Cullen's Institute, keen to catch up on his education and learn more about himself and his powers...

Macie Finch
Oct 19th, 2008, 08:02:30 AM
Name: Macie Finch
Code Name: None yet.
Allegiance: Independent
Age: 16
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 120lbs
Nationality: Canadian

Bio: The only child of Kathy and Alan Finch, Macie's life began without trouble or worry. Despite being high-flyers - Kathy a Human Rights Attourney and Alan a wealthy CEO - her parents were loving and devoted, ensuring that their daughter had everything she needed for the best possible growing up. Shortly after her third birthday, her parents divorced. Alan won custody of his child and moved with her to New York, where his company was based. Macie was enrolled at the New York School of Dance before she turned four, learning tap and ballet whilst a home tutor prepared her for schooling. Alan buried himself in work, as the company was developing rapidly and people more demanding than Macie took up his time.

She spent a lot of time alone, taking solace in her dance and waiting for her father to return home so that she could show him what she had learned. Unfortunately, time spend with her father was little and precious, and when she enrolled into elementary school, the lack of interaction with others made it difficult for Macie to make friends. Further problems developed as she found it difficult to understand classes; numbers and words made no sense, her learning was slow, and her worst fear manifested in reading out loud before the class. Retreating from the ridicule of others, she remained solitary, scared to ask for help as teachers didn't seem to be able to solve the problem. At eight years old, she broke her leg and wrist after a failed landing in a ballet class, and relished the time away from school. She worked hard in sports classes, where she was able to keep up with the other students, and continued her study of dance, rising up through the grades with considerable speed. By the time her final year reading assessment came, Macie couldn't control her fear of being ridiculed and promptly burst into tears while stood in front of the class. At that moment, a voice murmured in her ear, "Don't worry. I can help." At her side was a young adult man with features similar to her own, a calming hand on her shoulder, manner gentle and understanding. With his help she managed the reading exercise with little trouble, and he remained with her, telling her that his name was Sam, that nobody else could see or hear him, and that he was going to stay and act as her shield.

Enrolling into middle school, with Sam's help, Macie quickly caught up with the other students, and reached an level of understanding on par with her classmates. Suddenly, her existence made sense again. Ever a benevolent influence, Sam praised her efforts and encouraged her in her dance study. He helped to save her life when she reacted badly to a bee sting, staying with her until an ambulance came to treat her, and later explained the effects of her condition: anaphylaxis. He helped at home, performing small tasks such as fetching utensils for cooking, and finding things that were lost. Macie has yet to realise that this second, stronger personality only exists within her mind, and that she is developing into a powerful psychic in her own right.

Powers:

Telekinesis
- Can lift and move small objects; from her perspective, Sam is picking them up and carrying them. When in a heightened emotional state, she loses control of this power and may cause objects around her to vibrate, shake, and/or shatter. When the Sam personality asserts control, this telekinetic power is considerably stronger: he has the ability to move and manipulate larger objects - people, cars, etc. He can also at the extreme conjure telekinetic energy to his hands that he can deliver on contact, or project over short distances.

Sixth Sense
- Has the ability to sense the basic emotions and surface thoughts of people around her. This often manifests as sharing a "sense" with them - experiencing the same smells, touch sensations, etc. As the power evolves, she is able to share more advanced senses - sight, hearing, etc - and can sense them over longer distances when the subject is someone with whom she is familiar. She can sense if she is the subject of an individual's conscious thoughts - if someone is watching her, for example. She usually percieves this as Sam having spotted the person in question, warning her, etc. Sometimes, this sense can provide her advanced warning: she may recieve a flashed image of someone thinking about harming her before they have the opportunity to, which gives her a few moments to react, as if with precognition. It also manifests in a manner not unlike dowsing and scrying, giving her the ability to "find" people and objects seemingly by instinct: she percieves this as Sam telling her where the object / person is.

Name: I'nu
Code Name: None yet.
Allegiance: Independent
Age: Appears to be 17-19
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 160lbs
Nationality: N/A

Bio:

He has no recorded parents. Ethnically he has been speculated to be Afro-Araban, or of some East African ethnic group. Beyond that, there is no grasp or knowledge of his doings in the states or birthplace. However, he managed to have some pass of citizenship.

Powers:

Self-Abstraction - Can physically become sound, color, air and water, with complete control within these abstract concepts. He can raise his frequency as he bounces off objects, or musical instruments. In the case of becoming color, he must have the color within sight to be attached to it. Then he can essentially absorb the color, or become one with it, and leap like a bucket of paint onto the next object to color it as he is, or become one with the new color as a form of traveling. The more color he absorbs, the bigger he becomes, and he can reach the point of flooding a whole city in color.

Yet as air, he can direct himself like a flying bug into bodies. He can not, though, remateralize in his own human form within a body. However, that isn't the point of the mutation. He is able to slide through, pass, and around large objects like a phantom. He calls this the spirit mode.

As water he absorbs, much as he does with the color abstraction, and can reach the size of a river. He travels in this mode like a puddle, but can leap a short distance.

John Jackson
Oct 20th, 2008, 05:34:50 AM
Name: Detective John Jackson
Code Name: --
Allegiance: NY City Police Department
Age: 38
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 172lbs
Nationality: American

Bio: John lost his mother at a young age in a car accident; so young in fact that he has no memories of her. Until he was six he lived with his Police Officer father, but after he was killed in a shooting, he was adopted by "Uncle Jack", his father's partner. Orphaned by the Police, the department became his surrogate family: John spent a lot of time around the station waiting for Uncle Jack to finish his shift and take him home. No surprise then that he chose to join the NYPD himself.

John's powers were late-onset, manifesting during his twenties. A "hunch" based on one of the emotional imprints he detected led to the arrest and conviction of a homicide suspect. When the experience recurred, he considered coming forward and revealing his abilities, but was convinced by an aged and retired Uncle Jack that he could do more good if he kept his powers secret and used them to help people. Shortly after, he took and passed his Detective's exam.

Detective Jackson has taken a special interest in crimes that involve mutants, like himself. He believes that undue prejudice is applied by the Police Department towards mutants in general simply because of the actions of a few, and has made it his mission to see that the dangerous mutants are put behind bars while the innocent ones are afforded the same protection that "normal" people recieve by default.

Powers:

Psychometry
By making physical contact with an object, John is able to obtain information psychically about the owner. This information comes in the form of flashed images, which are a psychic imprint left on the object during events of intense emotional resonance. Mostly, these flashed images take place in the past, but lately he has begun to experience flashes of events that may not het have happened. He has no control over when his power will manifest, or whether he will experience a past or future flash.

Jozua Cure
Oct 20th, 2008, 09:46:36 AM
Name: Jozua Cure
Code Name: None yet.
Allegiance: Currently independent.
Age: 20
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 112lbs
Nationality: Dutch/American

Bio: Born a sickly child, Jozua was diagnosed with leukaemia shortly before her ninth birthday. The third of five children, she spent little time in her parents' home country of Holland and the family moved to America, hoping for better prospects for themselves and better medical care for Jozua.

Constantly in and out of hospital, Jozua began to tire of doctors' predictions of her life expectancy. With a low mood and mostly bedridden, she lost a lot of weight and spent much of her time sleeping or staring out of windows, knowing that there was no possible way she could become strong or well.

Her powers made themselves apparent in her late teens, and she kept them secret as they amused her and provided some relief from the constant testing and therapy. The small thrills of excitement gained from what she saw were enough to encourage her to try and make a change in her life. Through ambigous means she came into contact with Doktor Klaus Heidegger, and upon realising that her powers were of gene mutation sought to find out more. Knowing that there was nothing to lose she volunteered for the Doktor's gene experimentation, and is currently residing at his facility in Warsaw.

Powers: The ability to know a person's name(s) as she sees them. This only applies to humans, as other animals are called many things. This power does not work if she is looking at photographs or seeing the individual on the internet or television

Her treatment at the Euro Jericho facility has led to a symbiote, created out of her own body tissue, to be infused with her body. This manifests itself as black, vein-like lines appearing upon her skin, and the pupils of her eyes appearing to 'flood' out to the rest of her eye, completely filling the visible space of her eyes. Also, wing-like appendages appear to burst through the skin on her back, and so far events have revealed that they allow her to fly, but their other qualities remain to be discovered. The symbiote also regenerates her body tissue at an accelerated rate whenever she becomes injured. Since she has been introduced to the symbiote, it appears to have rid her body of leukaemia and restored her health to normal.

Name: Kahlia Winchester
Code Name: Etch
Allegiance: Unknown
Age: 17
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 130 lbs
Nationality: English-German

Powers: Her art becomes reality.

Limitations: Pieces must be signed - individual pages - ink signatures make creations permanent until the original piece is destroyed, or pencil signatures can be erased, and thus have a time-limited effect. Once a piece is signed, the process cannot be reversed. Once a piece is signed, and the signature is removed, it cannot be resigned and used again. She cannot use her powers on herself.

Hurucan
Oct 30th, 2008, 06:26:02 PM
Name: ?
Code Name: Hurucan
Allegiance: Unknown
Age: ?
Height: 6'4"
Weight: ~180lbs
Nationality: ?

Bio: Very little is known of the man who calls himself Hurucan: a name taken from a Mayan god of storms. He first came to the attention of the authorities in Europe, where he was suspected of being involved with a number of mutant militant activist groups. He is known for his largely anti-Human sentiments, and is wanted by law enforcement agencies in six different countries in conjunction with murder enquiries.

Recently, suspected sightings of Hurucan have been made in the United States. Authorities are concerned that he may become involved with the so-called Brotherhood of Mutants.

Powers:

The most prominant side-effect of Hurucan's mutation is his ability to manipulate electric fields and currents, commonly classified as Electrokinesis. This usually manifests in the form of projectile "lightning", although he has been observed to draw electrical energy out of power sources, disrupting electrical appliances and draining internal batteries. He appears to be capable of storing up an electrical charge within his body, to be released later: no indication of the limits on this ability have been observed.

Hurucan is also capable of moving at high speeds: reports on just how fast (supersonic, faster-than-light, etc) differ from source to source.

Powers: Ability to touch an object, or substance, and assume it's composition as his body composition. Depending on the strength of the substance, his strength may also increase. Ex: Touches Steel, body composition changed to steel, strength increases. Or, touches Ice, body composition changes to Ice, no strength increase. Not capable of manipulating the substance his body is comprised of, only altering his form.

Dwayne Stiles

Name: Dwanye Stiles
Code Name: --
Allegiance: New York City Police Department.
Age: 35
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 169 lbs
Nationality: American

Bio: It was Philadelphia, born and raised, where Dwayne Stiles spent most of his days -- ahem. Born in the Southern end of the city, Dwayne grew up with the company of an older brother and two busy, restaurant-running parents. Working for his parents as a waiter from his early teens, Dwayne developed a love of cheese steaks and hogies, and spent much of his time trying to impress the majority of the cheerleading squad in high school. An average student academically, but athletic enough to be picked for the football team, Dwayne competed to a regional standard before being pulled out of the team by his mother, who claimed that she didn't want her baby to 'get hurt'.

A fan of action movies, Dwayne left home as a twenty-year-old thrill-seeker, and joined the Philadelphia Police Department, where he rose steadily thorugh the ranks before taking and passing his detective's exam - it should be noted, on his third attempt. He was transferred upon request to the NYPD, having seen and heard reports of the violent crimes committed and wanting to do something about it. He was partnered with John Jackson and the two are currently investigating mutant related crimes and fighting for their equal treatment.

Powers: Dwayne does not have any powers, but his work investigating mutant crimes has led him to believe that the prejudice against mutants is wrong, even though he is not entirely comfortable around them.

Tristan Heller
Nov 4th, 2008, 10:57:46 AM
Name: John Tristan Heller III
Code Name: Hotshot
Allegiance: Independant
Age: 37
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 174 lbs
Nationality: American

Bio: The eldest son of the eldest son of General John Montgomery Heller, John Tristan Heller - better known as Tristan to distinguish from his father, John Heller Jr. - never really fit in with the rest of his family. Though his relatives bought in to the upper-class traditions that the family had adopted, Tristan would have preferred to live a normal life, without all the private schools, fancy dinners, and the other pomp and circumstance that he was forced to endure.

A lot of friction existed between Tristan and his father. John Heller Jr - a senior partner in a highly successful law firm - resented Tristan for not abiding by the family traditions, considering his attitude disrespectful to General Heller's memory. Tristan on the other hand resented the level of meddling in his personal life that his father exercised. Their differences reached a peak when Tristan shrugged off the entry into Harvard Law that his father had arranged, instead leaving home to join the military.

Tristan served initially as a driver in the logistics and support branches of the US Army, eventually progressing later in his service to serve as a Helicopter Pilot. His career was cut short however after several incidents of reported insubordination that eventually led to him being discharged. That was the final straw for his father; John Heller effectively disowned his son, cutting him off entirely from any access to the family fortune and leaving him to fend for himself.

With little to live on, and no skills easily transferable to other careers, Tristan ultimately turned to crime as a means of gaining access to money; he has been tied to a number of petty crimes over the years, but the police have never been able to find enough evidence to make the charges stick.

Tristan currently lives in New York City.

Powers: Tristan is mildly pyrokinetic, but has invested very little time in actually developing his abilities. He is able to consciously channel heat into his hands, and with conscentration can exhurt minimal control over flames that are already lit. However, anything beyond that usually comes as an instinctive reaction over which he has little direct control.

Additionally, Tristan is an extremely accurate shot with a pistol, and rarely (if ever) misses. It is unclear whether his accuracy is a mutant ability, or a result of his military training and natural skill.

Monty Heller
Nov 9th, 2008, 09:28:43 AM
Name: Montgomery Charles Heller
Code Name: Shift
Allegiance: Independant
Age: 34
Height: 5'7" (and a very important half-inch)
Weight: 176 lbs
Nationality: American

Bio: The youngest son of the eldest son of General John Heller, Monty was more than happy to grow up with all the comforts that his upper class family provided him with. Despite his elder brother's conflict with their father, Monty and Tristan got on well together, which was useful as Monty benefited from the protection from bullies that Tristan provided in school. While not particularly athletic - due to their aunt's tendency to feed her growing nephew rather well, despite his type 1 diabetes - Monty excelled academically, predicted high grades from his private school.

Unfortunately, Tristan's enrolment into the military led to Monty having to fend for himself for the last couple of years of school, and while he was able to out-think his tormentors and find some safety with the teaching staff, he suffered the occasional beating which his smart-alecky attitude provoked. It was at this time his powers manifested, allowing him to escape from his oppressors, but not before a long-lasting fear of Halloween masks was instilled in his mind.

Being the technological nerd, Monty devoted much of his time to discovering more about his powers. Articles on the X-gene were scarce in his youth, however he did not fear his abilities and instead sought to enjoy and improve them. Excitement over his powers led to a few escapades which nearly revealed them, and a stern word from the head teacher allowed Monty to realise the importance of keeping them secret, so secret, in fact, that he even relented from confiding in his best and most tusted friend; his brother, Tristan.

After graduating from high school, Monty sought his father's permission to apply to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he studied for a degree in computer engineering. Leaving again with top marks, Monty spent some time back at home, toying with the head hunters before settling into a position at an already successful company which developed and produced advanced security systems. It was during these years that Monty lost contact with Tristan, forbidden to communicate with him by their angry father, who had disowned the eldest son. Upset but loyal to his father's wishes, Monty could do no more than hope that he and his brother's paths would cross again.

After his thirtieth birthday Monty received an offer to move to New York, helping a new branch of the company become established in that area. Initially, he refused, being a homebody and not wanting to uproot himself from the comfortable home he had made for himself, but a message from his sister informing him that Tristan was living in New York changed his mind. Restarting in New York, Monty set to work with his new role in developing and extending the company, and also into tracking down his brother.

Powers:

Phasing
Monty has the ability to pass through solid matter, be it walking through walls or letting objects pass through him.

Teleportation
Monty can also teleport himself instantaenously to places that he has been before, and to places that he can see. His range is limited to a few miles, and requires a mild degree of concentration. This power can be accessed by his subconscious to teleport him away from danger to a place of safety.

Sigmund Landers

Sigmund Landers

Code name: Ziggy
Allegiance: Cullens, "Unknown Government Group"
Age: 28
Height/Weight/Appearance: 6'4"/185 lbs/Brown hair, blue eyes, average looks that are rarely seen
Nationality: German

Powers:. He has all the normal features of a normal person, but Ziggys' body chemistry is extremely volatile and is composed of a corrosive substance. While his skin has a less harsh effect, his bodily fluids can be quite deadly (insert facial jokes here).

Weaknesses: Any skin to skin contact can cause severe chemical burns. Any contact with bodily fluids (spit, sweat, blood, etc) can cause severe and potentially fatal chemical burns. He wears protective clothing at all times when he is around other people/mutants. As with all chemicals, his body has different reactions to different substances (bases nullify the effects of his powers, etc).

Bio:
- Gained powers as a pimply teen, was referred to the Cullens' Institute shortly after he melted his way through his chair, the floor and into the classroom below. Naked. Fun times.
- Graduated from Cullens with average grades and returned to Germany.
- Began to work for the government, using his unique gift for things he will not discuss with anyone.

He can project both telepathic and telekinetic barriers, either in wall-shaped segments or in spherical shapes completely surrounding himself and whomever else he chooses to enclose. The telepathic barriers block all psychic incursions across their borders. The telekinetic barriers are, essentially, force fields.
<o></o>
His telepathic sensitivity is limited, but he can passively sense active telepathic activity in his vicinity.
<o></o>
Weaknesses: The mental effort Dr. Saint-Louis must exert to maintain these barriers is proportional to the forces resisting him. He is susceptible to symptoms of psychic overload when pushed to the limits of his abilities.
<o></o>
Bio: Dr. Saint-Louis is a professor of particle physics at the University of Chicago. He is currently working on methods of safely capturing usable energy directly from nuclear radiation.

While in his wolf form, he has the characteristic senses of one, that is, increased senses of hearing and smell, decreased eyesight, and phenomenal endurance, able to run for miles without stopping. In his werewolf form, he gains normal human sight, retains the normal wolf senses of hearing and smell, but grows much stronger, faster, and even more enduring. Sadly, in his werewolf form, he is either angered beyond rationality, or mindlessly fearful, and cannot control his actions. He can control his transformation into a wolf and back again, but still will transform uncontrollably during heightened emotional stress. It is unknown whether he can shift his body into another form. He does not care to find out.

Daniel Hartford
Jan 13th, 2009, 03:45:06 AM
Name: Daniel Hartford
Code Name: Enigma
Allegiance: Unknown
Age: 41
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 157 lbs
Nationality: English - American

Current Location: Los Angeles

Bio: Enigma's powers began manifesting at a particularly young age. Perhaps they had always been there but his parents weren't aware until at the age of approximately two and a half, he innocently commented on his mother's thoughts (Mommy ok?), much like a curious child would. At first, his mother thought nothing of it, chalking it up to a bad day and thinking she was hearing things. But then it kept happening. Strange things kept happening. Eventually, it was Jericho for the child and although he had grown up in London itself - now being the age of four - his father and mother had separated and he ended up in the New York facility, his parents giving up legal custody of him. However, the child already seemed to have impenetrable defenses and a strong will. This made any action the staff at the Jericho Center for Genetic Medicine took to study him fruitless.

Instead, when their efforts produced no results, Daniel Hartford was given the best education a child could have and plenty of opportunity to let his powers grow. He was being groomed for secretive purposes, and that landed him in the military. According to the powers that be, Enigma did not exist and the deeds he did in their employ were false stories. What exactly happened during those times is something even Daniel himself will not speak of.

Presently, Daniel Hartford in Los Angeles. He is known as a well-to-do businessman with a fairly large corporation, and is generally well-liked with citizens. He tries to be a good man (benefactor, etc... as he has no family of his own), and leave his past behind. However, his past does not wish to leave him be.

Powers: Enigma is a high-level mutant with a long list of mental abilities in the full range of parapsychology and beyond. The full scope of his capabilities is unknown, just like most of the details about his past.<link rel="File-List" href="file:///C:%5CDOCUME%7E1%5CVinnie%5CLOCALS%7E1%5CTemp%5Cmso %20%20html1%5C01%5Cclip_filelist.xml"><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:PunctuationKerning/> <w:ValidateAgainstSchemas/> <w:SaveIfXMLInvalid>false</w:SaveIfXMLInvalid> <w:IgnoreMixedContent>false</w:IgnoreMixedContent> <w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText>false</w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <w:DontGrowAutofit/> <w:UseFELayout/> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:LatentStyles DefLockedState="false" LatentStyleCount="156"> </w:LatentStyles> </xml><![endif]--><style> <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:"MS Mincho"; panose-1:2 2 6 9 4 2 5 8 3 4; mso-font-alt:"MS 明朝"; mso-font-charset:128; mso-generic-font-family:modern; mso-font-pitch:fixed; mso-font-signature:-1610612033 1757936891 16 0 131231 0;} @font-face {font-family:Verdana; panose-1:2 11 6 4 3 5 4 4 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:swiss; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:536871559 0 0 0 415 0;} @font-face {font-family:"\@MS Mincho"; panose-1:2 2 6 9 4 2 5 8 3 4; mso-font-charset:128; mso-generic-font-family:modern; mso-font-pitch:fixed; mso-font-signature:-1610612033 1757936891 16 0 131231 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0cm; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"MS Mincho"; mso-ansi-language:EN-GB;} @page Section1 {size:612.0pt 792.0pt; margin:72.0pt 90.0pt 72.0pt 90.0pt; mso-header-margin:36.0pt; mso-footer-margin:36.0pt; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> </style><!--[if gte mso 10]> <style> /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} </style> <![endif]-->

Alec Goreman
Jan 13th, 2009, 04:46:03 AM
Name: Alec Goreman
Code Name: Scorpio
Allegiance: Hurucan
Age: 29
Height: 5"9'
Weight: 169lbs
Nationality: English

Bio: Alec grew up knowing that he was an illegitimate birth; the product of a few minutes of recklessness. Despite this, he was grateful for the mother and step-father who cared and provided for him, and spent much of his childhood as any normal boy growing up in Western England would; playing on the streets with his friends. Encouraged by his mother, Alec studied hard at school and was accepted into the University of Reading, where he earned a degree in English. During this time the stress of continuous assessment and competition caused his X-gene to become active and his mutant powers to manifest.

After graduating, he took a teaching course and settled into a job in a secondary school in the town of Bolton, where he quickly gained a strong rapport with the students due to his youth and appreciation for their needs. He kept the post for several years, taking the most pride in the students who struggled in their studies and came out with greater achievements than were expected of them.

Trouble began for Alec when he was twenty-seven; with the death of his mother and step-father – killed in an arson attack on their home which disturbed Alec deeply. He was given compassionate leave from work. After some weeks of leave, Alec returned to the school to find that word of his abilities, although mild at this point, had reached them. Facing the offer of an indefinite extension to his leave or dismissal, Alec chose the former. Maintaining a journal for his thoughts and feelings, Alec grew steadily more and more unstable. Identity all but lost, he focused on something he had previously pushed to the back of his mind: his mutant abilities.

Powers: Alec possesses powers of hydrokinesis: he can manipulate water, both its movement and temperature. He must remain hydrated in order to use his abilities; if not, his control becomes very weak. However, he can absorb water from the air around him, but only when humidity levels are high.

Jamie Morrigan
Jan 13th, 2009, 11:49:00 AM
Name: Jamie Morrigan
Code Name: Chimera
Allegiance: Redención House
Age: 10
Height: 4'5"
Weight: 69lbs
Nationality: American

Bio: As a baby, Jamie was dropped off anonymously at a hospital in Philadelphia. She became a child of the foster care system, but, when she was as young as five, her foster parents began complaining of very strange and inexplicable phenomena surrounding the little girl. When medical tests revealed that she was a mutant and that her X-gene had manifested itself at an extraordinarily young age, she was remanded to the Jericho Center for Genetic Medicine in Connecticut.

She lived an unhappy and solitary life there until she was rescued, ironically, by both Dragon of the X-Men and Spectre of the Brotherhood of Mutants. After freeing her, the two mutants argued over where the girl should go - to Cullen's or to the protective custody of the Brotherhood. Jamie, not wanting to alienate either of her rescuers, asked for a compromise. That compromise ended up being the Redención House in Los Angeles.

Powers: Jamie is highly gifted in illusion; she can project any image and sound she can imagine. Her illusions do not, as of yet, have any physical presence, and it is unclear whether she is trapping light in some form of natural hologram or whether she is manipulating the perception of everyone in range. Her intuitive control is phenomenal for such a young mutant, but she occasionally lets her imagination run away with her.

Jacob Foley
Jan 13th, 2009, 03:22:10 PM
Name: Jacob Foley
Code Name: n/a
Allegiance: Redención House
Age: 23
Height: 6'
Weight: 150 lbs
Nationality: American

Bio: Jacob Foley was an orphan rescued from a drug den by social workers, he was adopted by the Fernandez family when he was aged eight. They were warm and loving people who provided him with a happy home and sent him to a good school. Despite this, Jacob was a troubled child who had difficulty inside the classroom and fought with his peers outside. Aged ten he burned the school caretaker's shed to the ground and was sent to psychiatric counseling. It was during these counseling sessions it was revealed that he was a mutant.

His teen years were riddled with minor criminal offenses such as petty theft and antisocial behaviour. Despite the patience and support of his adopted family, Jacob, or "Jake" as he insisted, struggled to come to terms with his abnormality; terrible nightmares and visions kept him awake at night, his frustration turned into violence and he fell in with the worst gang in his neighbourhood. One night, aged sixteen, a drunken joy ride in a stolen car turned tragic when the driver lost control of the vehicle and slammed it into a tree. Only Jacob survived the accident, thanks to his gift he snapped his seatbelt into place just in time.

He served six months in a juvenile penitentiary, where he turned seventeen, and by the time he was released, Jacob was a very different young man. He was quiet, introverted, and timid. He spent all his free time locked in his bedroom, he liked to sleep a lot to shut out the things he saw in his head. He left home when he was nineteen and took his first job working at a gas station but after a run-in with a couple of familiar faces from prison, resulting in a bloody brawl, he was sacked and returned to his family. He struggled to keep employment in the months that followed until he was invited to live with his sister, Anna, who had just bought a house of her own in California. He moved into the attic and pays rent as often as he can when he is not "between jobs".

Powers: Telepathy: he can read minds but cannot control them. Precognition: he has visions of the future, both distant and near, he cannot control this ability and the visions are random. He also has latent telekinetic potential.

Durandal
Jan 17th, 2009, 04:14:48 PM
Name: Durandal Leela
Code Name: n/a
Allegiance: n/a
Age: 475 (?)
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 153 lbs
Nationality: Romanian

Mutation: A vampire in the traditional sense. Needs to drink blood to survive. When blood is consumed, if the blood is a mutant's, Durandal gains the abilities of said mutant until the blood is digested. Durandal has a rampant healing factor that is slow, but relentless, healing even the most grievous of wounds given enough time.

Weakness: Unless powered by the blood of a mutant, Durandal is effectively no more than an average human. He is, however, sun-sensitive in that his skin burns (not catching on fire) easily and quickly when in direct sunlight.

Bio: Born in 1532 in Ploiesti, Romania (South-East of Transylvania). The atrocities of Vlad the Impaler were still fresh on the minds of the Romanian people, and as such, Durandal was subjected to outright hatred in his youth, since an early (current society would call it a mutation) curse and / or deformation left him becoming more dependent on blood to survive. His body was slowly losing it's ability to properly digest foods. Raw meat was an acceptable substitute for a few years, but eventually, the meat began to upset the young man's stomach. He eventually moved on to blood, only eating real food when society was watching. These habits had people speculating that he was Vlad reborn, or the son of Vlad, or even some offshoot of demon, and at a young age, earned him the ire of his people.

Aidan Fox
Jan 21st, 2009, 02:13:50 PM
Name: Aidan Fox
Code Name: Firestorm
Allegiance: Redención House
Age: 22
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 180 lbs
Nationality: American

Bio: Aidan is very tight-lipped about his past. When he showed up at Redención House in the autumn of '08, Anna took him in for just another hard luck case, but he quickly showed himself to have a number of useful skills. Not only has he kept Anna's van and pick-up truck running against all odds, he also has a special affinity for helping young mutants learn to control and understand their abilities.

Aidan has a forged ID and is very careful about leaving paper trails. He's very idealistic about mutant rights, which has led Anna and Jacob to suspect he might be an expatriate of an extremist group like the Brotherhood, but he's always been careful not to endanger the safehouse. For now, he's useful, and he pays his rent at the house with the help of a job as a mechanic at a local garage.

Powers: Aidan is a fire elemental mutant. He can emit blue flames from his body with very limited range. To extend the range of his flames, he has to find a fuel source - for instance, a plank of wood, a gasoline spill, or potentially an entire room. The more fuel he consumes, the more powerful he becomes.

Jocelyn Marshall
Jan 22nd, 2009, 04:19:21 AM
Name: Detective Jocelyn Marshall
Code Name: N/A
Allegiance: NY City Police Department
Age: 36
Height: 5'7
Weight: 125 lbs
Nationality: American

Bio: Jocelyn Helena Marshall is the only daughter of Boston taxidermist Graham Marshall and famous crime novelist Diana Saunders. At a young age her parents divorced and Joss - as she was fondly known - split her time between her mother's home in New York City and her father's in Massachusetts.

She enjoyed a happy and fairly uneventful childhood, avoiding the relative strain that most children with divorced parents encounter due to Graham and Diana's devout dedication to remaining amicable towards one another. A quiet, inquisitive child, Jocelyn spent much of her time reading. The characters in her books had a great deal of influence on the young girl, most notably Frank and Joe Hardy (she was madly in love with the younger brother) and Detective Toni Grace, the tough-talking heroine from her mother's novels. It was primarily because of these literary role models that after high school she promptly enrolled at Boston University School of Medicine and obtained a degree in Forensic Sciences before enlisting in the Boston Police Academy.

Though she loved Massachusetts, her mother's health declined to a point where constant care was required and Jocelyn transferred to the NYPD. It was in New York that she met Nathan McAllister, a fellow officer and mutant who would eventually steal her heart. They were married after a whirlwind courtship and settled into a new life together, juggling careers and a mortgage, and occasionally treating themselves to a fancy dinner out on the rare evening when they were both home.

Their marriage would come to a devastating end only four months later, however, when Nate was one of the victims in a city-wide anti-mutant campaign. He was shot and disemboweled by a street gang who were known to target mutants. He was thirty-one.

Joss stayed on in the city and eventually worked her way up the ranks to detective, joining the MCU Forensics Division immediately thereafter. She has since thrown herself into work and has a virtually non-existent life outside of the office.

Dee Cusiak
Jan 23rd, 2009, 11:49:27 AM
Name: Dee Cusiak
Code Name: Nocturne (Don't think that is taken)
Allegiance: Redención House
Age: 17
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 110 lbs
Nationality: American, Boston Native, resides in L.A now.

Powers: Nocturne is double jointed and has the ability to adhere to any surface. She has extraoridnary vision that can see farther then any human (can see items crystal clear a mile away), along with nightvision and a heightened sense of smell that she can use to track down anything. Dee is naturally gifted in concealment within plain sight.

Personality: Dee has trouble relating to humans or mutants. Having a more feral affinity, she relates to predatory animals easier because of her abilities. Because of this, she befriended a Gray Wolf and named her Timber that is never far from her side.

BIO: To clarify, she doesn't run around the woods for fun howling at the moon :lol She isn't an actual 'feral' child. Dee had a normal upbringing in Boston until her father had to relocate her family to L.A. for business reasons. She grew withdrawn at ten, finding herself unable to assimilate to the California lifestyle and personalities that surrounded her. She felt she could only open up to her parents, but even that relationship drifted once she graduated from High School.

Her abilities manifested themselves in subtle ways. Squirrels would scamper closer to her for free food; birds would hop closer and perch upon her knee; she didn't need glasses any longer since her near-sightedness corrected itself, and she had this uncanny ability to recognize any scent.

Eventually a fellow classmate picked up on the fact Dee may be 'different' and offered a chance to meet others like her, and pointed out the Redención House. Wary at first, Dee reluctantly allowed herself to be introduce to Anna. Feeling somewhat less out of place, Dee returned infrequently at first during the last year of school, but now with graduation over, she finds herself there more often then not now, unsure of what to do with herself.

Name: Jeremy Cullen
Code Name: Mirror
Allegiance: Cullen's School for the Gifted
Age: 52
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 213
Nationality: American

Powers: Mirror can sense the powers of all mutants within twenty feet of him and use them as his own. He can only use one power at a time if more than one mutant is close to him. Through years of training with his brother, Mirror can now choose which power he manifests. He uses this power to help train other mutants to control and master their powers.

Parasite
Feb 14th, 2009, 08:34:00 PM
Name: Caleb Edwards
Code Name: Parasite
Age: 29
Appearance: 6', 175 lbs, blue eyes, silver grey hair

Powers: Can dampen or completely negate for an undetermined amount of time the powers of any mutants in close proximity to him. His power is under his conscious control unless he is under duress. In addition to leaving his victims temporarily de-powered, his leeching can have physical effects. For example, at certain times when his power has been targeted at mutants with super strength, his victims have become temporarily weak and frail.

Lucian
Mar 2nd, 2009, 04:35:47 PM
Name: Br/Fr. Lucian
Age: 2,489
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 155
Eye Color: dark yellow/brown
Skin Color: Lightly Tanned
Alliance: N/A
Occupation: Priest
Mutation: Extremely high cellular regeneration, can heal from any type of wound. Only way to die is to sever his head from his body. His powers are grounded in the healing factors of the cells which are controlled from the brain.
example: If he is shot in the heart the moment the bullet hits his skin his brain sends the message to heal. By the time the bullet hits the heart the outer wound is healed and another message is sent from the brain for the heart, and so the process will continue until the bullet exits the body, leaving Lucian in pain, yes, but relatively unharmed. IF the bullet is logged in his body then his body will heal from the inside out, pushing the bullet out. Which will cause him enormous pain and most likely make him pass out.
