Got a phone call from Wyl earlier this week. She is enjoying Kaua'i, but has not gotten Internet yet (or power for that matter). She hopes to get it soon, but really likes it.

She also says, "I miss you all!"

And that the goat is good too.

I got some goodies too - I'm just waiting for the new address so I know that anything I send back to her will actually get to her. :P

Glad to hear things are good... it sounds delightfully rustic. *sigh*

Macadamia Nuts ^_________________________________^

This is the first time I've ever eaten said nuts. I feel like I've just discovered a whole new world!

Incidentally, if anyone else wants to do a cultural exchange of local goodies, let me know :)

All the cultural goodies from my neck of the woods come around in the fall, but I'm game for swapping treats too!

I don't mind just sending people packages of "candy" if there's anything in particular that people want.

Like Aero's, for instance :mneh

Yeah, the signature candy we have where I live is the Cow-Pie

....yes that is correct. A candy named after cattle dung.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... Jen, can you send me some Cadbury's drinking chocolate over here in return for .... ehh.... well whatever there is I could send you from Germany? The local English shop has swapped the oldfashioned type for the Instant fatfree version that is made with water and tastes yuckie..... :p

Apart from that - whoever wants some German stuff, I'm game for some cultural goodie exchange

We've got a neat little General Store downtown where you can get just about an old fashioned / retro candy you can think of. Some of the things I haven't seen since I was a wee little thing! LOL

Hallo! I miss you all like crazy! You'd better be taking care of yourselves!

Everything is a little nuts but I'm writing down the various adventures (shaving my legs in the cats water bowls, harvesting our first batch of cacoa beans, sending the kids out to pilfer breakfast from neighbouring fruit trees as we've no power and trying to explain that it isn't stealing since it's technically on our property, etc) so that I can keep y'all updated one day.

Goats (three more now!) are all doing great. The Captain (oh, it's such a long story) wants to start making our own feta cheese but since he has a habit of starting projects and handing them off to me (the chocolate trees, renovating the new house, making our own soap) I think we'll have to put an end to that idea!

:hug's to all! Be back as soon as I can!

I too would be interested to hear. I don't think we've ever talked since I haven't RP'd in awhile, but I'm keenly interested in the Hawaii happenings. If you have the time, drop me a PM or get my cell number from Millard and give me a ring.
