Apparently it's taken from one of Ian Fleming's short Bond stories.

Doesn't sound like you're typical Bond title, that's for sure.

I'm fine with it. Bond needed a serious shakeup in story and character development, which it got with Casino Royale. A somewhat unorthodox title will hopefully indicate more of this change of course for the Bond films.

The novels are awesome and if they keep Bond as a thuggish gentleman and walk the tightrope between society and the worst things in humanity, it will be fantastic. Bond lost its way by focusing on bond girls, gadgets, and stupid humor. I love the renaissance!

The title is very science-fiction. But then again, the Bond films aren't without their fair share of cool sci-fi-ish gadgets.

I can't help thinking of Superman's Fortress of Solitude when I think of that title though :p

The problem with quantum is that it hasn't been used very often in recent years as its latin evolution - to describe a small portion. It was pretty much hijacked by physics and other techno-babblers.

These novels were written in the late 40's & 50's, so that explains the use.

Honestly the title don't bother me. Like Star Wars, Harry Potter and Indiana Jones you could call them anything and it won't affect the film any.

Does anybody know if Bond is carrying a PPS in this film? The only thing sexier than Daniel Craig as Bond is Daniel Craig as Bond with the proper 21st century successor to the venerable PPK.
