... to force Barton out of hiding.

My idea is that some kind of conflict breaks out in Cloud City, Barton goes to the scene to help-out and ends up having to use the Force... for instance if something large is going to fall on a bunch of people.

As you can see, the idea is pretty vague right now! But I figure it will be a good excuse for him to get off planet and finally start making his journey back to the Jedi. Maybe this could be the catalyst for him and Harlequin getting talking? Also I guess James would have to vacate too, otherwise the Imps would arrest her for fraternizing with a Force User! :o

Lots of possibilities.

A) Rebels and Imps could break out into a mass brawl - Paris & Davis are chatting it up right now and you can see the writing on the wall that that story line isn't going to end up "happy."
B) The Sith/Dark siders seem to be chomping at the bit to do something lately - they could do a sneak attack somewhere in the city
C) The Inquisitor's could suddenly decide to investigate the Imperial officers who have been cooking the books
D) Black Sun could cause some trouble - We already have Smitty running away with on of their cargo ships.

As long as all you folks come back and see Mu sometime, I'm game. :D

I like the idea of either a Rebel/Imp conflict breaking out, or the Black Sun being involved somehow... don't see enough of the scum and lowlife!

Let's go for the Black Sun angle. If we have too huge of a conflict between Rebs and Imps too soon, it would change the nature of the place by the Imperials bring in a stronger presence to regain order.

At one of casino's in the upper levels? Maybe Harlequin drags Barton out for a night on the town before leaving for Vortex and you two get caught in the crossfire?

Let me see if we can get Harle in here and see if she's down for that. Would be a great segway for both of you to head off to the Enclave.

Plus, now I'm envisioning a great departure scene at the docks where Mu gives you two her ship or something so you can jet quickly.

Maybe just a cameo of Sasseeri at the climax of the shoot out ect. Something quick and fast, like "CHARGE!"

And regarding James, I think Mu's got enough pull around the city with the Imps she could work something out to protect James if needed. After all, a lot of people "know" Barton. He's a bit of a softy taking in strays, helping them get back on their feet. So it's up to you to decide if you want to throw James back out into the galaxy with them or not.

I like what you guys have come up with already. I can toss a couple ideas into the pot:

a) In said brawl, Harlequin could try to intervene force-wise somehow, and make a hash of it, drawing Henning to save the day, and thus expose his Jedi-ness (this would work with your scene Mu of a quick departure taking your aforementioned ship in order to hussle us outta there).

b) If Sass is too busy and you need a Black Sun instigater we could utilize Bambi Maddox. That girl is always trouble.

Harlequin - waiting for the "others" convinces/forces ;) Henning to take her out for a night on the town, to the ultra fancy Cumulus.

Something goes wrong at the tables

Sassy goes ape on the crowd

All heck breaks loose "let the bodies hit the floor"

Harlequin makes it worse

Henning comes out of retirement to save the day

Mu tucked away in her little corner of her office senses something seriously wrong, (a la Luke/Leia style), with Henning - shows up with a few of Smitty's crew to provide a nifty swift departure to the port docks
forces Henning to take the <i>Starry Night</i>
