I know I'm a day early but...
To quote myself, circa 2005: "What wonderful/woeful (delete as applicable) gifts did you receive this festive season? I know a lot of us are too 'old' to get the sweet, sweet hauls of years gone by, but I'm sure we all still get some pretty neat stuff. Come and bask in the warm glow of consumerism!"

The folks bought me Star Trek: The Next Generation 20th Anniversary Complete Series boxset. That's approximately 7,850 minutes of maximum warp fun and frolics. Also got Season 2 of Star Trek: TOS to complete the set, as well as a book - Buzz Aldrin - Spaceflight: The Complete Story from Sputnik to Shuttle and Beyond.
My girlfriend's family got me an assortment of t-shirts, Lynx/Gilette gift sets. Her mum and dad got me a model of the Enterprise (Original series). And my girlfriend got me Spaced on DVD, Ross Noble: Fizzy Logic on DVD, Alien vs Predator: Requiem for the PSP and a ultra-cool model bust of the T-800 from T2: Judgement Day...

My Christmas was warm, fuzzy, snuggly and at least partially cotton. I recieved:
- Fleecy pyjamas: White with blue reindeer on them:
- Fuzzy new robe (Purple! :D)
- Nintendo t-shirt: has Mario and Yoshi on it. A nod to my years and years of video-game playing, ha ha.
- 25th anniversary Care Bear with a dvd of a 'lost episode': the very first episode, which has rarely been seen since the first airing...
- A Hello Kitty stuffed animal: I'm STILL going to go to the Build-A-Bear workshop before the Hello Kitty choice becomes exclusive to Hawaii.
-Candy: Nice, big box of Smarties..Stocking isn't complete without Smarties. A few candy canes, oranges and Lindt chocolate balls.
Absolutely no books or art supplies this year. I'm truly astonished, especially since I really do love such things. The bonus is...NO CANDLES!...I swear, I have enough of them, already! But really, I WAS eyeing up the 25th Anniversary Care Bear when I went present shopping for my kid. :p

I got a pile of Wii games. Spider-Man: Friend or Foe and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn are the two that specifically are mine. Spider-Man totally rules. It's fun, it uses the Wiimote and Nunchuk in a fun, simple manner, and it has the Black Cat. Instant win. Fire Emblem is hard as crap. I'm still getting used to managing the system and making good use of my units.
While we're talking discs, I got Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 1, Transformers, and Spider-Man 3. My mother of all the people got me the Burning Crusade for Warcrack (suprising since she hates the stupid game) and I'm totally hooked on the Draenei I made. Luckily, it's not stealing my soul, and I'm still spending lots of time on my family, friends, and other gifts. I got a set of music CDs which I have yet to actually listen to, but tonight they're going into my iTunes library and tomorrow they'll make it out to my car, where I'll listen to them 10 times over the next week and get sick of them.
On the intellectual end of the spectrum, I got some books, puzzles, and LEGOs. Naturally, the books aren't TOO smart; mostly it's a bunch of Marvel-related stuff. The Ultimate Guide to Spider-Man and Marvel Vault are fairly informative references regarding Spider-Man and the history of Marvel comics. The Vault one actually is fairly cool in an "informative without being nerdy" kind of way. Like...it's useful stuff, not just comic trivia. I could use it as a reference to track the success of a business or write a report. Yeah, it's got that kinda detail.
The put-together stuff is more Spidey and assorted geekery. Is anyone surprised? Spidey features as the first 3D puzzle I ever built. The LEGOs were a Y-Wing from Star Wars and a siege engine in the latest line of medieval sets. Altogether, it comes to about 2 hours of dinking around with tiny building blocks. I'm totally not satisfied. My brothers got LEGOs too and I wanna put them together for the hell of it.
And...that about wraps it up.

I don't remember much of the evening of the 24th and 25th. For serious. Although I do know that moving couches while sauced up on wine and whiskey isn't a stellar idea. I do seem to remember Mitch calling, and then Rachel getting a hold of my phone somehow and making calls to people in my address book. And then Arie the youngest got suckered into doing whiskey shots.
Christmas morning I woke up still drunk (after crashing in the living room), Rachel woke up not quite as drunk, and Arie woke up with a hangover and still puking.
Those two days were the best Christmas presents I could've ever gotten :D

Skipping over the full list, which would have some boring stuff on it, the highlights were:
- iPod Touch from the parents
- Guitar Hero III for Wii from the girlfriend
- a large super soft fleece blanket that matches my couch from the brother
I was pleased with what I got. The iPod Touch was huge surprise, and is quite cool.
