Portal is like the ultimate game for a speedrun.

I think this is how the game was meant to be played. Even if you don't finish in 18 mins, your goal is just to get to the exit.

Has anyone gotten 100% comp on this? I'm still struggling with a few of the gold chalanges and I miss three cameras somewhere all the itme. ( am at about 90% )

Completed it, and I'me about 25% through the challenges/bonuses stuff. Not too keen on finishing them any time soon. I just re-play the main game every now and again when I have half an hour to kill, just fooling around on it. I'm more interested in unlocking the portal gun in Half Life 2 and playing around with that. :)

That’s a cheat its fun but the npcs don't react to the portals so it's kind of dumb. I wish some of the people who do the texture packs would write scripts for the npcs so they can interact with the portals.

Did you mean you finished the camera shy achievement? Cause I meant 100% on the entire game. I got all the cameras tonight I found the three I keep missing. I'm at 94% on the game. ( all achievements etc am just missing a few gold ratings on the challenges)

No, I just meant I've completed the normal game, not the bonuses etc.

It's not easy and I'm not sure why it's fun. I generally hate doing things that I can't compleat. On most of the chalenges the phys eng really works against you. There are a few where you need to throw the cubes to avoid using portals or taking steps... so all those collision points give you a huge margin of error.

As great as the game was, the story was what interested me the most. In Half Life 2: Episode 2 there's a reference to Aperture Science, so it's cool to think about what the tie-ins will be. It's mentioned that Aperture Science were a rival company to Black Mesa - so their chief focus must have been teleportation as well.

GLaDoS may very well feature in some future Half Life installment, or even the player character.

I just opened the Orange box and started playing Portals. Love it.
