Some of you are being too kind to my Chiefs. I doubt I will be picking them for the rest of the season. Honestly, I hope they lose their last two games so maybe they can be pressured to fire Carl Petersen and Herm Edwards with him. They then could rebuild the team from the ground up.

Hey Carr, I noticed yahoo corrigated your score by one point. I am not sure which of your players lost a point, but now I am in the semi finals.

Edit: Actually, maybe it was even one of my players. What was the score again? 86-86 or 87-87?

It was 87-87. That doesn't make any sense though. I don't see how they could change it after the fact. Any way to find out who it was?
It has to be Brady because the same thing happened to me in another league. That is the craziest thing I have ever seen.

Edit
I sent an email to yahoo, mainly trying to find out why the score was corrected. I am not necessarly disputing it unless it is out right wrong.
I did this for both leagues.

I think they sometimes change it when player stats were reported wrong initially. When it happens, they change the score accordingly. I know Pats defensive team had a stat correction in week 15, not sure what other players.

You can check for yourself whether the score is correct. It is fairly straight forward, 1 point per 10 yards rushing / receiving, 1 point per 25 yards passing, 6 points per TD etc.

Here is a link for checking stats, just click on the box score for the relevant games, and check the numbers for each player:

well hopefully they will let me know why. It is just strange that they changed it two days later. Wednesday night it was that score. What took them so long is my point.

Just as I said that Steelers score a TD.

Speaking of the Steelers it looks like their scoring person screwed me in the fantasy league. They took one of Ward's receptions away which is what did me in. I am mad at yahoo for fooling me for three days thinking I won that game.

Should've had Ben today - 16-20 for 261 yards and 3 TDs. That's his third career perfect 158.3 passer rating, tying Peyton Manning's record.

Terrible news for Willie Parker who left the game early in the first quarter with a broken right fibula. That'll finish him for the rest of the season and playoffs. :(

But in his absence, Najeh Davenport ran for 123 yards and a touchdown on fourteen carries. He also caught a twelve-yard TD pass from Ben. I honestly don't know if Najeh is capable of being the Steelers' feature back in the postseason, but he has been impressive in several of his games this year.

EDIT: Interesting bit of history - this is the first time the Steelers have ever defeated the Rams in the Rams' home city. And they've played the Rams in three different home cities: Cleveland, Los Angeles, and St. Louis. They've beaten OTHER teams in each of those cities - the Cleveland Browns, the Los Angeles Raiders, and the St. Louis Cardinals. They beat the Rams in Pasadena, a neutral site, in Super Bowl XIV. But before this game, they were 0-11-1 on the Rams' home turf.

According to Weather.com, there's a -2 degree wind chill in Chicago right now - winds are 29 mph with gusts up to 42. Brett Favre has apparently said these are the worst conditions he's ever seen for throwing the football.

I'd take Favre's word on that.

EDIT: Egad. Favre had a 0.0 passer rating to begin the second half.

EDIT: It's now 28-7 Bears following a punt block returned for a touchdown. Good news for the Packers, though - Favre has improved his rating to 1.7.

ANOTHER EDIT --

BROWNS: Here, Bengals. Have the game.

BENGALS: Oh, no, we couldn't.

BROWNS: Please, we have so many wins already.

BENGALS: We insist! You're our guests!

At least some of the playoff spots will come down to the last weekend.

With the Giants clinching a wild card spot today, they are locked into the #5 spot in the NFC, it's hard to believe that they won't rest some of their starters next week, making it all the more likely that the Pats will finish the regular season 16-0.

Well there are two playoff spots up for grabs. Tennesse and washington need to win and they are in. They are facing two teams who will probably be resting most of their staters though in Indy and Dallas.

I dunno, I don't think Indy wants to play the Titans in the playoffs, so they might want to keep their guys in for at least 3 quarters to secure keeping them out.

Park - that was me last week, finished 6-10. This week, improbably, I'm 14-1 going into Monday Night. :eek

But I wouldn't have called either Seahawks over Ravens or Eagles over Saints upsets, especially not if you've been watching the Ravens lately.

Well, this is what Dungy said last friday, and Manning / Wayne had a great week soo...

Colts coach Tony Dungy said Friday that Willie Parker's season ending injury won't cause him to reconsider playing his starters in Week 16.

"No, it really doesn’t," Dungy said. "You feel bad for the Steelers in that situation, losing a good player. But it can happen. I think what you have to do is just to go out and play hard and not worry about the injuries too much." The Colts say they may rest some starters in spots, but all still are expected to play substantially in Week 16, and may not get any rest if the game is close.

Well I heard another report that said they may just play a half. I guess we will see what happens.

Yog
Dec 25th, 2007, 12:47:37 PM
I don't think Dungy wants to lose the game if he can help it. I think he wants to set the record straight between Titans and Colts. Titans gave them great difficulties in their previous matchup, and now Titans are desperate for the win. We will probably see at least a half of Manning on the field, if not 3 quarters depending on how much of a challenge Titans provide. Either way, I would be nuts not to start Manning in fantasy football next week. Addai though, I could see him being rested earlier, since RBs tend to get the worst of it, and he got some rough treatment in week 16.

Here is another report:

We've got the same type of situation this week, where the game really doesn't mean much, and we got some rest for some of our regulars at the end of the game," he said. "That's probably what we'll do this week only a little earlier.

http://canadianpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5jUTeFKXxGvPj9MODYzdt89M0hnJQ

Manning did not get much rest this week, so at least a half, maybe 3 quarters depending on the game.

Yog

Bah, looks like I will have to bench Manning, whether I like it or not:

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning looks set to spend most of Sunday's game against Tennessee on the sideline.

Backup quarterback Jim Sorgi is expected to see extensive playing time for the Colts (13-2), who already are entrenched as the second seed and have a first-round bye in the AFC Playoffs.

"I know Jim Sorgi's going to play at least a half," Colts coach Tony Dungy told reporters Monday.

Manning is expected to make his 160th consecutive regular-season start, before giving way to Sorgi at some point during the first half.

While the Colts have the luxury of resting players as needed, the Titans (9-6) are in a battle with Cleveland (9-6) for the remaining AFC wild card spot.

With a win Sunday at the RCA Dome, Tennessee will clinch its first playoff berth since 2003.

The Browns, who host San Francisco (4-11) on Sunday, need to win and have the Titans lose or tie to secure the number six seed in the AFC.
