I can't believe how much that movie made.

45 million was what I thought it do total not for one weekend. Although, it will probably have bad wom and do somewhere over 150 million. If it breaks 200 I will be even more shocked. I am Legend doesn't surprise me as much. I think it will have decent legs and make 250-275.

I want to see this movie for some reason. It just looks funny.

Plus I used to love Alvin and the Chipmunks.

The guy in front of us at the box office today bought 10 adult and 4 child tickets to this flippin' movie. That was over $100.

The world is coming to an end, I tell ya. :eek

wow I guess that is part of it. I think the weekend numbers are overestimated though because of the ne snow storm but still it will be 42 instead of 45. I just don't get it. If it had made 20-30 I don't think I would have been surprised.

If you said 4 adults and 10 children, maybe I would understand it, but that is just crazy.

Nostalgic people I suppose. I know the chipmunks have been around since the late 50's.

I know, I thought that was what he said at first, but then he repeated it, and sure enough, he said 10 adults and 4 kids. Wow.

I used to enjoy the Chipmunk cartoons, but to me, this movie raises no sense of nostalgia. Personally, when I saw the trailer for it before Enchanted, I thought that they were simply killing off yet another part of my childhood. :cry

If it came on television one day, I might just watch. I typically don't like the processed-sounding voice of the more modern efforts, though. The original voices were charming..the new voices grind on me like old bitter coffee.
