Palace District, Imperial Centre.

It had been a week or so after putting down on the planet's surface in Invisisec, the alien section of Coruscant, that Rakkel now ventured out in search of the ancient artifacts he desired. He was on the hunt for anything related to the Sith, Jedi, and other groups connected to the Force. That hunt eventually leading him to Coruscant, the home of the once proud Jedi and the former seat of power for the Dark Lords of the Sith, rulers of the Galactic Empire, Palpatine and his apprentice Darth Vader.

The Empire wounded by the loss of its leaders still maintained a firm grip on most of the Galaxy, de facto powers keeping the system together and running smoothly. It was those people Rakkel found to be most interesting as they must have been prepared, even trained, to handle the Empire after the Emperor's death. Planning only a foresight of things to come would allow. Grand uprisings, defections within the ranks of the military, none occurred after the Emperor's death. Someone or some group held a firm grip on the rest of the Empire, and was no doubt gifted by the aid of the Dark Side like the Emperor himself had been.

Safe to say those powers had their eyes elsewhere and not on their throne world. Rakkel had yet been caught by any of the many guardians of the Empire against Force users, the Inquisitors, either. Luck, some would say. The path laid out by the Force, Rakkel knew. Divine plans include their mishaps though and surely Rakkel was to encounter one on this world, it would not be avoided.

The Imperial Palace stood in a brilliant bath of sunlight this day, no darkened clouds hung overhead pouring rain and shooting bolts of lightning. An effect no doubt created by the Emperor's demise, no large collection of dark energy remained to focus on anymore for the forces of this world. The Palace almost seemed a bastion of all things good and just in the universe, the image complete if it weren't for the many vigilant guards with weapons at the ready. These guards wore a crimson red uniform with a helmet design unlike any other in Imperial service. Not to be confused with the menacing looking Royal Guards of the Emperor, these were Coruscant's own protectors, the Coruscant Guard. As Rakkel recalled they were Elite members of the Stormtrooper Corps.

Observations complete Rakkel sipped the last of his caf, tipped the waitress, and left the establishment he was in for the street. This part of Imperial City had to have been the best well kept on the entire planet, as everything was shining and fresh, the roads appearing as though they had been laid the day before. Impressive as the architecture was, so too were the citizens who occupied the streets. Highest of high class, who else would dare set foot in the Palace District. There fashion and they way the conducted themselves were sharp contrasts to Rakkel. As fate would have it though he one of a handful that appeared out of place in the masses, there were other tourists who had come to see the Throne.

The Palace gates were a short distance from the cafe, an eager group of tourists waited outside them to be admitted entry for a tour of the Emperor's home. For Rakkel it was the perfect oppoutunity to gain entry into the building. He joined the crowd and waited to receive his tour pass to be handed to him after a quick security check. Tour checks weren't as tight as the ones required for admittance to the planet itself. A pat down for weapons and any devices that could be used to tamper with security systems, and that was it. Both of these articles Rakkel had stowed in the deep pockets of his robe. If security weren't the drones they had been trained to be they would have detected the dagger blade and modified datapad, but thanks to their weakened state of mind Rakkel slipped them by. There was no doubt that a camera captured an image of his person and was being cross-referenced. However the time it would take for him to be identified as a wanted man by the Empire would be lengthy, and he would be gone by then.
