It's going to be released this afternoon at 2PM EST. It looks like they got Clemens. I feel like I've been punched in the gut. Petite is also rumored to be named. And I'll tell you right now, Mitchell better have gone out of his way to get the names of some Red Sox players because that's the team he's worked for. If he doesn't you'll have NY media and fans crying that he protected his own while going after everyone else.
Ughh, this day is going to suck.

Indeed it will. I'd say at least 50% of players were probably on them between 1998-2005. It'll be ugly.

Veritek and Nixon are Boston fan favorites. Seeing their names must be making parts of Red Sox nation cry. I swear, if I see Jeter's name anywhere today I think I may have to take a year off from watching baseball.
And Pujous, PUJOUS?!?! This was a young guy that so many people were pinning their hopes on for a clean future, I just can't believe it. I wonder how many of these guys are going to man up and come clean and how many of them are going to start backpedaling and hiding behind their agents and the union. Ughh.

I find it interesting that a couple of the guys on that list have died while still rather young (ie. Ken Caminiti, who we already knew was on the 'roids, and Darryl Kyle). Makes me wonder how many of these guys are going to drop dead in their mid/late-forties from heart attacks.
We'll see if Selig has the guts to push this in the face of the player's union and demand sweeping changes (and not just to the drug testing policies).

I'm not shocked to see anyone's name, especially not guys like Clemens and Pujols. To me, everyone in baseball is guilty until proven innocent.
Such a bad day for baseball, but in the end I doubt it will have any effect on attendance and revenue. If it were released days before the season opener, it might be a different story, but this will have blown over by opening day.

Not really shocked Tek's name came up. I thought he'd dropped a ton of weight the last 3-4 years.

I think it would be easier for Mitchell to just name they guys he think ARE clean. It would probably be a 1/2 page report, double-spaced with 24 point type! :lol

Bagwell
Why does this shock you? Look at a picture of him as a rookie and look at him now. He turned into a mountain of meat and it is fairly obvious.

Bagwell was probably roiding up with Kaminiti at some point. I think it's fairly obvious too, he looks a lot like Len Dykstra. Now HE'S obvious.

Hey, what's he doing with my report!

Well Bagwell, Pujous and Tek weren't on there. A lot of the names were mostly older veterens trying to keep from getting cut. The biggest name new name is Roger Clemens and that is it. There are a few other guys like Justice, Pettite, and Tejada that are new. Not sure if anything will change though.

Clemens is denying everything through his attorney and Petite hasn't said a word. If Roger is innocent, and that's a BIG if, I would expect him to fight this. There's not much he can do against Mitchell or MLB, but I don't see why he wouldn't be able to sue the trainer accusing him of slander. If I were innocent I'd be going insane right now. But odds are it's just another millionaire using his money to try to buy himself out of trouble. I still can't get over Petite, this hurts like hell. I wonder if anyone will actually just step up, admit it, and ask for forgiveness.

LOL okay, Justice is somebody who doesn't really surprise me.

Justice screwed up a marriage with Halle Berry.
David Justice therefore is an idiot and what he says does not count.
As for Pettite and Clemens, they were best friends and workout partners. Of course they were sharing "training tips". Pettite's silence speaks volumes, as I'm sure he's totally embarassed right now. As a guy who's apparently very religious and thanks the lord for his abilities, he's right up there with the biggest losers of them all. Though he seems like a decent enough person...it IS awfully convenient that guys like Pettite, Gagne, Tejada etc, all got traded or signed new contracts just before this report was made public. They knew they'd be a part of it and wanted to secure themselves another payday.

Well Pettite came out and apologized for it taking it. He said he took it to get his elbow better. Now he may be telling the truth here. Now this makes Clemens look really bad.
JMK
Dec 15th, 2007, 07:54:11 PM
Yeah, sure he took it to heal his elbow. That may be true, but once he realized how well it healed his elbow, he wondered what type of miracles it would do to a healthy body, and probably just kept using it.

Goose Gossage is a Hall of Famer!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sadly, Jim Rice fell short again. The good news is he picked up some votes. I think he's one or two years away. Both of these guys were vital parts of the Yankees & Red Sox teams I grew up watching. They both passed the "Oh Sh*&!" test I have for the HOF. That is, fans and oppsosing players both said "Oh Sh*&!" when these guys came up to the mound or plate in key situations. And they said it for YEARS, not just a season or two.

Isn't next year the last chance for Jim Rice to be voted in by the writers? I think this was his 14th year on the ballot.
McGuire got the exact same number of votes as last year. He's not getting in on the writers ballot ever.

Yeah, Rice's last chance is next year, I heard it on Mike & Mike this morning. He'll get in next year. And Mac is toast, he's never getting in.
