So, I'm set to make an apperance but I have no clear understanding of the whole situation and was wondering if I could get a break-down of what exactly is going on.

Conflict has been going on for a few months (correct me if I'm wrong), much greater than either side considered. Fighting has turned in brutal and violent trench warfare and combat is sporadic and random at best. Conditions are extremely unpleasant for both sides as the planet is primarily volcanic in nature.

Sarapin is one of the largest energy producing core worlds and is and holds value for both sides. The Imperials are headquartered on Mount Corvast and have held the fortress their since the start of the conflict. Most of the fighting takes place on the lava-fields beneath the mountain and lines of battle are constantly shifting as one side gains positioning within the trench system over the other. The key pieces of real estate are the energy distribution plants that are spread out along the lava-gorges that border the central plains and the processing stations located away from the heat hazards.
