Is this dancer spinning clockwise, or counter-clockwise (http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,22535838-5012895,00.html)

I love optical illusions like this :)

And yes before you ask, I can see both, because I am a mutant with powers beyond most men.

I saw it spinning counter-clockwise for the longest time and then suddenly it switched! And now I can't switch it back.

This is so cool. There was this really neat site my brother used to tool around on that was dedicated to this sort of thing. Can't remember the name though...

I'm evidently very much right brained.

The rest of yous are wrong brained. ;)

Immediately saw it spinning clockwise and at first was convinced it would not spin the other way judging by the angles and the momentum. Then I just stared at the arms and thought "You're spinning the other way," and it did. I am strong with the Force.

This in fact can not and does not tell you what side of the brain is used. And if you concentrate on the shadows and the edges, you can make the dancer change direction at will.

Apparently, I am incrediably right brained. Even though I judge myself as mostly left-brained. My world has been shattered. Thanks Charley.

Can see both. For me, focusing on the pivot foot seems to help to "change" it's direction.

Same here. First it was rotating clockwise, but I covered up everything except the pivot foot with my hand and it was easy to believe it was going anticlockwise. Other than that I can't make it change direction.

I saw it spinning clockwise, blinked, and then it was counter-clockwise. My eyes got out of focus staring at it and it switched again. No idea what that means.

It was going clockwise, and I thought all you people were nuts who said it could go the other way, but after a minute or two I mastered it! It now switches back and forth at my command :)

If I didn't focus really hard on the foot, it would go anticlockwise (while concentrating on the foot) then poof, back to clock-wise. I can't make it change direction at will, and I figure that is a good thing. The list of right brain stuff is more me anyway ^_^; lol.

Right brain represent!

Though after a bit of Hiro Nakamura style concentration, I got it to go the other way.

Can't get it to go counter-clockwise. I declare myself superior.

It goes back and forth..............I'm confused.

I've also noticed that I can take advantage of my astigmatism, peer over the top edge of my glasses for a moment, then look through them normally again to change the perceived spinning direction. Forcing my eyes to refocus does the trick every time.

That's because your seeing what the image is really doing. The spin is the illusion.

This thing is pretty awesome. I first saw it clockwise, took me a while to see it spinning counter-clockwise.. then after that I discovered if I stared at the foot long enough I can see it just going back and forth.

If I look with my peripheral I can get it to switch around a whole bunch.

If I look directly at it... not so much. It goes clockwise.

If I look at the body first, I see her spinning clockwise. But if I look at the shadow near the foot, I can get her to spin the other way at will.
