Description (brief):
Weather weary mountaineer, clad in furs, frost covering his beard, eyes forlorn.

More details:
His name is Sydnae (this is from the novel I'm working on right now). He's been traveling for weeks through the frozen forests, hauling a sleigh behind him with a dead friend wrapped in a canvas cover.

He's gaunt from hunger, emotional from the torment of survival and the death of his friend. There's a sense of loss that clings to him like a heavy cloak, soaked through with despair.

Syd carries a knife of human bone on his person. His clothing consists of furs, stained from the effort of life in the far north. His hair is ragged and long, beard scraggly and untrimmed. Ice clings to him.

Hair dark as a raven's wings, eyes icy blue.

He's relatively young, mid twenties. His body is hard and all edges.

Oh, and if you want to work his ice tools into it, too, that'd be cool ;) They're curved and made of a material called "shimmersteel." (probably longer shaft than this image, they'd be a few inches above knee height, possibly, so that they could be used in deep snow) http://www.outdoorgb.com/pi/Petzl/61820-b.jpg

Oh, some other stuff: He probably has gaiters, possibly crampons (depending on what he's walking through), and boots of seal leather. He could possibly have sunglasses on, though I'd like to be able to see his eyes, so they might be around his neck.

He'd have two layers of gloves, possibly the outer ones could be hanging off his wrists by a cord. The outer ones would be heavy, lined with fur, have goat skin on the palms for friction. The inner gloves would be fine wool.

Erm, this is a fantasy setting ;) So, go wild. If you want to work a frost wrym in there, go for it, haha.

Mmm... I think that should be enough to work with :)

I like the character, Khendon. When I have more time to really work on details, I want to do a more finished version than a simple sketch :)

I know it's hard to tell, but he's wearing a harness that attaches to the sled holding his dead friend so it's easier to pull.

- outer climbing glove with claw tipped fingers for that hard to grip ice.

Reference for his costume, though it's old and sketchy. Feel free to take creative liberties where you see fit. I fudged on the boots, but they're decidedly of the cowboy variety.

Alright I'm finally done with midterms so now I shall post here then go out and get wasted.

I think I spoke to you before about a sketch for a scene in a thread that is not written yet (once Y'roth gets back). Don't want to give much of the thread away, so description is a bit lax. Basic premise is that the Inquisitoriate calls a meeting of the most of the Imperial higher ups (Politicians, Military heads, Intelligence, R and D, every department). They don't have a clue, what's going on, but a direct message from the Grand Inquisitor almost never happens (IE they're a bit nervous). The scene I'm kind of wanting to capture is the moment Valten walks into the meeting with several Inquisitors in tow.

Probably three for the purpose of the sketch (Valten, Helghast, and Ligelia[female]). At this point they're trying to make an impression and scare the hell out of the people (1 Inquisitor is rare, but a group never happens). They'll be wearing full ceremonial armor and weapons. For the armor think gothic/archaic style plate armor with trailing capes(go nuts, I'd really like to see your interpretation of Inquisitors). The weapons are different for each, Valten uses a saber (hilt in the shape of a Krayt Skull), Helghast typically has retractable katar on his right forearm, and Ligelia uses a halberd.

It may be a bit much, so one would be fine as well, maybe a sketch from the politicians' POV would have more of an effect.

The god of death and judgment in my new novel.

(Oh, teaser, discussion between the god of warriors/strength/smiths and the god of death/judgement):

Warrior: “You attribute misfortune to a woman, Good Brother? Speak soft; our sister would not happily treat with you if your words were to fall upon her hearing.”

Death: “She treats with her own treats, dear brother. Her glowing personage is elsewhere. It’s no secret, she entertains herself sweetly, and with such a honey as to have little care for where my shadow falls and what moves beyond my pallid lips. Still, if for some off reason she were to learn of my ramblings, their sourness she will ignore; for, like a connoisseur, she appreciates the bitterness of my vintage.”

And a description from the novel of what everyone thinks he looks like:

There was Syndrell, patron of the church, menacing and judging from his spot left of the Gate. Bloodwood framed his tall portrait and brought out the white of his stern, disapproving visage. Shocks of raven black hair fell across his face in angles, the same color as his heavy eyes. The God of judgment, retribution, truth, and death wore a thick cloak of black wool that wrapped around his gaunt figure. Syndrell’s left hand, a mess of bleached bones, gripped an ornate axe with screaming head on one side and executioner’s blade on the other while his right grasped a squirming serpent. The scene behind him was one of a bloody, violent hell with headless corpses and merciless demons.

But, in truth, he's all smiles. Sure, his skin might be gray in some areas, and his fingers bone thin; but, he's a fun guy.

He closed his dark eyes and let the beating of the wind’s wings on his face drive his mind deeper into thought. The steady rhythm of the cold felt good on his grayed skin. There was a handsomeness to his features, a sadness that made him appear beautiful in his own right. It was in the way his eyes sought the distant horizon, or maybe it was the long hair that fell haphazardly over his face and shoulders in a long flood of black. Whatever it was, it clung to him like the dark robes that flowed around him as if caught by an invisible current.

...

He seemed to soak in the darkness around him, become a part of it in body and mind. He embraced it and basked in its depths and rolling tones of gray and black. For a moment he was with the bats, flying free through the night sky on the hunt. Then, without a second’s thought, he was back again, the deep voids of his eyes drinking in the stillness of the graveyard. He walked in fits of stopping and starting, a man broken in time, arms flowing as he tiptoed through the world.

Okay, no more. I don't want to give away too much of my novel, haha.
