It is a good poster, although I am not sure what to expect from the movie. Caspian was always my least favorite book of the seven.

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/34155 Some pictures of creature concept art from Prince Caspian. Looks a little darker than the first movie, which is appropriate. :):thumbup

I think I may get a babysitter for my son when this comes out and actually go and see a movie in the theatre again.

It looks good but I still rank this movie 5 for the summer for me. Prince Caspian was my least favorite of the Narnia series so that is probably why.

You rank Prince Caspian lower than The Horse and his Boy? Although I love The Horse and his Boy now - when I first read it I don't think I fully got it. :)

I don't remember the Horse and the boy heh which is why I said that. I can't remember reading it so maybe that means it is bad. I just remember the next two books were a lot better. The Voyage of the Dawn Trader is my favorite of the series.

I think I read Prince Caspian far too many times as a child. I think it was the only book in the series that my grandmother had, so it ended up being my favorite. The trailer looks pretty cool :)

The trailers I've seen are getting me really excited for this movie. I like the fact that it has a darker look to it...Makes me think I need to read the Narnia books...

Read all the Narnia books when I was five or something. I still have the same set from all those years ago. The artwork on that particular set of paperbacks is still my favourite.

And yes, this movie looks yummy dark. :D

I saw it and I liked it overall. The last hour was the best part of the movie.

I saw the trailer before Iron Man, and it actually put me off seeing the movie. Though they looked as if they were trying to give it an epic feel, I just felt it didn't seem exciting at all. I'll probably see it on DVD sometime.

Well, I enjoyed the final battle but I had some issues with the movie. I would have liked to have seen better actors playing the villains. The two they had didn't stand out. They should have gotten a couple decent character actors to play those parts. There were some others things I didn't like. I probably give it a B and a B+ for the last hour.

I had exactly the same reaction to the trailer when I looked it up a while back and was going to mention it here but thought better of it since I've been panning everything upon first impressions lately.

I saw it today, and I loved it. Not quite as good as the first one, but it's like comparing an "A" movie to an "A+" movie. Very enjoyable, and very well done. I'm just sad knowing that this is the last movie with all 4 kids.

And it didn't take me long to realize that that was Eddie Izzard doing Reepicheep's voice! :lol

I loved Reepicheep and Eddie Izzard was an almost perfect voice casting!!! Amazing.

I really liked the movie - they obviously changed several items from the book, including shortening up the time span of the trip to Narnia. In the book the kids spend a week or more on Cair Paravel's island before Trumpkin shows up, and Caspian doesn't blow Susan's horn until his army is camping at Aslan's How. I understand why they did that, though, as the movie could have been pretty long and boring in those first parts without chopping out some of that.

They also move the location of the first battle to Miraz's castle which didn't really change much, I don't think. Made Peter seem more reckless, I suppose.

And did anyone else notice the significance of the empty chairs in Miraz's council chamber? We're set up nicely for Caspian to set off after the missing lords in Voyage of the Dawn Treader. All in all I really liked the movie. Well worth the money to see it in the theatre.

Saw it. Loved it.

Going in, I was concerned about the rather strong accents they'd given the Telmarines. But once I got them in my ears, I don't think I had any problems with them. They were consistent and believable, and they did help drive home the foreignness of the Telmarines (at the risk of localizing them in our world).

I think the screenplay handled the very difficult pacing issues of the book's beginning brilliantly, though I was curious whether people coming to the movie without having read the book might be lost. To me, it felt very fluid, and the fast start really helped propel the story through some important exposition without dragging in the slightest.

I was blown away by all the character arcs and how they mingled so naturally. The idea that Peter might not want to yield his throne to Caspian was brilliant - though it didn't come through in the book, it certainly helps drive the book's central themes. I was impressed by the chemistry and tension between Peter and Caspian. Susan was surprisingly convincing as a warrior queen, and her uncertainty about living in two worlds was touching. I'm especially sorry she won't be returning to Narnia.

Serious suspension of disbelief - Caspian was uncommonly stupid during the castle raid, skiving off for personal agendas when the whole plan depended on stealth and timing. But I understand what they were doing with it - raising the stakes between Caspian and Miraz and also showing that both Caspian and Peter made some foolish mistakes. I just wish he'd shown a little more gumption.

The whole castle raid, of course, was discussed as a plan in the book but never enacted. It was a great choice for the movie, not just as an additional action piece, but as a powerful plot element - racheting up the tension and desperation in the Narnian camp, cementing Miraz's power in the court, and directly leading to Nikabrick appealing to the White Witch (whose cameo was stunning).

I actually enjoyed this more than Wardrobe, which I didn't expect going in. I just had the feeling that in the first movie the writers and director were being so cautious with the source material that they didn't adequately make it their own, with a few sterling exceptions and a few awkward ones, and so there was a slight sense that the movie didn't quite have room to breathe. With Caspian, they had to take liberties, but they kept the themes of the original book central. Personally, it hit all the right sentimental notes for me while still being fresh, surprising, and compelling. I'm sure there are some more faults I'm overlooking, but I don't really care - I enjoyed it immensely, and I can't wait for Dawn Treader. :)

And you have to remember, the Telmarines accents can be quite easily explained as they are pirates that leaked into Narnia at some point after being shipwrecked on an island in our world. So for them to have spanish accents is pretty believable.
