The new season of Heroes begins September 24, 9:00 PM on NBC.

Any thoughts/speculation on what will occur based upon last years finale?

What will occur season two will be awesome, and I shall be glued to my TV watching it

I can't really speculate at this time, cause frankly, I don't want to. I love watching this show not knowing where they are heading with it!

Also, the DVD set rocks. I'm just trying to get through the episodes right now, Just finished episode 18 last night. Once I complete the season, I'm goping back for deleted scenes and comentaries and special features and whatnot.

I will say that I am very glad that they did not go down the road of their pilot that never aired. That would have been the end of the show at the beginning. -_-

^ What Yog said!

I've got my DVD set but haven't watched anything yet. First thing I'm going to watch is the unaired pilot, that's for sure.

The unaired pilot was pretty different - I enjoyed it but I'm not regretting that they re-shot and re-cut and re-did it for the general public. What we got was ultimately much better, and it really would have shaped the show in a totally different way.

:eee I can't wait until Sept. 24th! Hiro in the past! :eee

I just finished re-watching the entire season 1 on DVD and am now ready for season 2.

"Save the Cheerleader, save the world." I am more convinced now than ever, having had the opportunity with the DVD to watch the episodes back to back with hardly any interruptions and not having to wait from week to week, that this tag line must refer to the change of heart by Nathan. Both, hearing Hiro call him a bad man, a villian, and then to have Claire tell him that the future isn't written in stone, and asking him how he can allow all those people to die, and how he can allow Peter to be responsible for it all. Without Claire, then Nathan doesn't change his heart and the bomb goes off.

That being said, we know that the future that Hiro goes to is one with Claire in it. So, the "Five Years Gone" episode is showing a future where the bomb has exploded; what went on in that timeline that has changed as a result of Hiro visiting the future; since it must not be only Claire that changes Nathan's heart, for Claire was there in the Five Years Gone timeline.

I believe it's, as I mentioned above, the fact that Hiro tells Nathan that in the future he is a bad man. And when Nathan refuses to help them, Hiro tells him "you're already a bad man. A villian." It's not only the cheerleader that changes Nathan's heart, but a combination of the cheerleader and Hiro.

At the end of the episode, we see blood leading into the sewer as Mohinder the Narrator talks about kindred spirits finding one another. Can this mean that the person that Molly talks about being worse than Sylar may live in the sewer, and that he has taken Sylar's body, recognizing it as a kindred spirit?

Can't wait for "Volume 2" starting in five days!

(Spoilers are from season one. Don't know if they'e necessary or not.)

Not sure I followed everything, partly because I only saw Season One during the 24-hour marathon, and I missed a couple episodes. But it looks intriguing. I'm looking forward to finding out more about Maya and Alejandro.

But are they really planning to run this against Monday Night Football every week? :(

So who is the new bad guy? Also based on what Hiro's father said there were 12 members of the old generation of heroes. 3 of them are dead and there are now 9, although make that 8 now. It looks like one of the old group is hunting his friends down. I can't wait for next week.

I liked the episode very much. We're supposed to get an episode further into the season that will fill in the blanks in the 4 months that we missed, I can't wait to see it because I really really want to see how certain characters got to where they were in tonight's show. Especially Nathan and Peter. Some crazy crap had to have happened for them to be where they are now. And Nathan's initial reflection in the mirror...eek! :eek

Bummer about Kaito Nakamura, that was unexpected and I'm sorry to see him go. But yeah, I'm assuming that the new evil that's even worse than Sylar is the person who's now killing off all the members of the group. Angela Petrelli had better watch her back, that's for sure.

Favorite single moment of the episode, though, had to be when HRG finally put that dorky manager guy in his place. That was great :dance.

BTW, Heroes ran against MNF last season and did just fine. Here on the West Coast, unless the game runs long, it's long over before Heroes comes on anyways.

So, Sylar is back...but why exactly can't he absorb anyone's powers anymore? And why does Peter seem to have all of Sylar's different powers now? Hm....

My only complaint about last night's episode was the Claire/West stuff. Cripes, I felt like I'd accidentally landed in an episode of Dawson's Creek or something. At least they ended their scene with the revelation about the man with the horn-rimmed glasses. Whee! :)

Hiro forcing Kensei to face the 90 angry ronin was hilarious. :lol

Nathanial K'cansce
Oct 9th, 2007, 08:48:03 PM
Hiro's the man!

Also, Peter was around/in close proximity to Sylar, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch that he acquired what powers Sylar had.

I don't know, save for the Hiro stuff, Mohinder/Molly/Matt stuff and some of Peter stuff, this season isn't holding up to last season... Hopefully the next few episodes can change this.

Ryan Pode
Oct 9th, 2007, 11:16:29 PM
The Mohinder/Matt/Molly stuff is setting up the Clair/Bennett/West story line. It's just developing a bit slow, but with Micah and Jessica/whatever her name is in the mix, it should pick up considerable speed.

Yeah I think he just died of his wounds that he suffered at the end of last season. BUT - this is four months later. Who knows? We'll find out eventually.

Sylar not being able to use his powers is awesome, and I knew that Candace-illusion chick was fat. :mneh

Rutabaga, I don't think Peter has manifested any more of Sylar's powers than he has in the past. I don't remember there being any evidence that Sylar could shoot electricity from his hands - this is a new power. And he had the mind reading from Matt Parkman.

I don't know if she's dead or not. I mean, as soon as she got scared or even hit, she could have made an illusion that Syler had defeated her and that he was getting what he wanted. It doesn't seem like the company's style to have someone way out in like the amazon.

True, true...it was just something we were talking about at work (thank goodness there are some people at work who watch the show so we can gossip about it on Tuesdays :)), it just seems like Peter is manifesting stronger powers now, which I do figure has to do with what happened in Kirby Plaza at the end of last season. The lightning shooting from the hands...we're wondering if that's something left over from Nuclear Ted's powers. You just had to love Peter trying to make the lightning thing happen in Monday's episode, it was like the scene in the first Spider-Man movie where Peter Parker (hey, another Peter!) was trying to figure out how to make the webs shoot out :lol.

But there's definitely something that happened to Peter in the intervening 4 months that has affected his powers to some extent, along with making him lose his memory. And finally get a haircut :lol.

I'm enjoying this season quite a bit so far, the only stuff that I haven't been all that jazzed about is the Claire/West stuff. But maybe they're trying to reach out to the teenage audience, I guess.

Episode 4 was really good. So far we got..

**SPOILERS**

**SPOILERS**

- Sylar up to his creepy evil schemes again. What is he planning to do? Kill the couple to try absorb their powers (that did not work last time)? Or is he going to find Zuresh to get some answers? What is up with that wrist watch clock ticking, is that related to his powers? And what is the deal with the cockroach..

- Nathan Petrelli watching himself in the mirror with heavy burns. Whats going on there. On that note, there is still a lot we don't know about what actually happened at the night of the nuclear explosion (Sylar, Peter and Nathan).

- Revealing who the Nightmare Man is.. what happened to Molly? Is he inside her head now?

- An exceptionally cool new power. Learning stuff by watching TV? I'd watch TV all day if I could do that.

- What is the meaning of the helix? Who is out there killing them? And what could be waiting for Bennet in Ukraine..

- Nice intereaction between Claire and West (flying student). Have a feeling he could become a key later.

Interesting theory, I like it :). Although Matt's dad was part of the original 12 and we've been led to believe that it's one of the original 12 who's doing this...but then again, Matt's father did appear to be a little on the portly side in the photo and the person who pushed Kaito Nakamura off the roof was pretty slender...hm, maybe all definitely isn't as it appears to be :).

My theory is that the person who is doing the killings is an Empath like Peter. It would explain all the different types of attacks. So it could be any of the 12 who are still alive. The big problem is there are several of them we don't know besides Mama Peretili and Bob.

If the Nightmare Man is an empath, it could also mean that he simply projected the image of Matt's dad to Molly...obviously he knows that Matt is involved with Molly, and it would be the perfect morsel to throw Matt's way to throw him completely off-kilter.

The more I think about it, the more I agree that Molly's ID of Matt's dad as the Nightmare Man could very well be red herring.

That is a good question or was it more of a psychic vibe. Its also funny she is the Cerebro of this show. I say that because nobody in the comics has that power unless you want to count Xavier.

I don't think the person killing the older heroes is him though. I think it is someone else. I think it is someone who wasn't part of the 12. My theory right now is that it is Takezo Kensei, I think he is imortal and can't be killed. Since he has powers like Wolverine he could live a long time. Wolverine is like 300-400 years old. I think the older heroes did something to him and he is killing them off to return the favor. There are also even crazier theories out there saying that Takezo is actually Papa Pateril which is why you couldn't make out what he looked like.

You don't have to put spoiler text on theories :p I mean, you can if you want to, but unless its a confirmed spoiler for an upcoming episode you don't need to. :)

If you look at the picture of the so-called "original 12", its pretty obvious that Mr. Petrelli isn't played by the same guy as Kensei.

The whole nightmare fight between Matt and Nathan was awesome. I was like.. OMG they're fighting each other! Very well done, imo. And my guess for Elle's dad is Bob, but who knows?

My initial thought was also that Bob might be Elle's father, but then I started having this weird idea...what if her father is Matt's father? And that would mean that Matt and Elle are half-siblings. I've been watching too much Lost, I tell ya! :lol

I never watched Veronica Mars, but from what I know of it, the character was pretty much a goody two shoes. So to see Kristen Bell play someone who ended up being so twisted... :eek

Oh, and Carr, I'm also not convinced that Matt's dad is the one killing everyone off. Unless he's projecting an image of someone else when he does the actual attacking. Or, are the attacks nightmares like what happened to Matt and Nathan last night? There's definitely more of the story to tell, that's for sure.

I don't think anyone could project something that two different people could see. Ando saw the hooded figure and I don't think the hooded figure knew he was coming up the stairs. I stick with my theory that it is Takezo Kensei. Now I am not saying he is Papa Peterli. I think it is more likely that Takezo killed him too. I think they did something bad to him and he wants to get even. The reason that Hiro's dad was so surprised was he never thought that Takezo would go evil.

I'd forgotten about Ando being there too, you're right. And I love the theory that it could Takezo Kensei, that would just be so weirdly awesome. Especially since the killer went over the edge of the roof along with Kaito Nakamura and was gone before Ando was able to look down...and since we now know that Kensei has the same powers as Claire...hm. I wonder how long it will be before we finally found out who it is.

He can also be controlling Kensei. If he can project thoughts, is it far from plausibility to think he can control another's mind? What if he is projecting nightmares into Kensei's head, and Kensei is thinking he is killing others -- like enemies from his past, or some who are trying to kill him.....

I was discussing your Kensei theory with someone at work, Carr, and she brought up another point that just might lend credence to your theory.

The symbol drawn on all the pictures is Kensei's symbol.

:D

If it's Kensei who's doing the killing, it might also silence some of the critics who I've seen complaining that this season is overstuffed with new characters, many of whom have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Perhaps the creators are actually working on a giant quilt with a design we will only recognize once it's almost put together. :)

It seems to me that the sword belongs to the sword smith and or his daughter, meaning, to me at least, the symbol could be their's. Maybe thats one of the twists. All the time and energy Hiro is putting into making Kensei the hero he is supposed to be, rescuing the sword smith to win the love of his daughter, and it turns out that the sword smith is the big baddy?

So, Takezo Skywalker has become Darth Monroe. A gold star to you, Carr!

I was just a little puzzled by the fact that Hiro assumed that Kensei had been killed in the explosion, what with Kensei having regenerative powers and all :D. And that makes me wonder, how can Kensei be killed? Is he a Highlander-type immortal who can only be killed by decapitation?

Nifty episode, it's good to see that they're making good on their promise to start bringing all the characters back together...the naysayers who have been complaining about the season so far are probably going to look back when it's all over and realize that everything that came before was necessary and is leading to a great payoff.

I'd read in TV Guide that a major character will die during sweeps, so I guess here's the question: Niki or HRG? Personally, I don't want it to be HRG, because I just love that character. It's pretty ominous, though, about how none of Isaac's paintings have been wrong up to this point. Or are we being misled that it might be Niki or HRG, and will it be someone else?

And personally I'm a little tickled that Peter stranded Caitlin in the future...she's not exactly one of my favorite characters :lol.

Thank you :) I just had a feeling that it was him. About Issacs paintings, there is the Bomb, Nathan becoming president, and Claire getting killed all of them end up being wrong. So, I wouldn't say that it is final for him. As for the death it could be someone else too. I wouldn't be shocked if somebody else died. About Kensei, I want to compare him to Vandal Savage who was impossible to kill. Savage has been disingrated and was able to regenerate after that. I think Kensei is probably pretty close to immortal. Have to see how he was locked up in the next episode and maybe get some clues how to defeat him.

You're right, not all the paintings have come completely true (so far that we know of), although I might argue a bit about the explosion painting...previews for upcoming episodes do show Nathan on the roof of the Deveaux building looking out at a ruined NYC skyline. Whether that's due to an explosion or civil unrest in light of the virus or what, I dunno.

But at least the series of paintings starting with Kaito Nakamura's death have been accurate so far, including the Hiro vs. Kensei painting ;).

You're right, I'm wrong...I just realized the goof and came in to fix it. Too late, you caught me :). That image just kept getting stuck in my head because they're still using it in promos for the show.

BTW, I think it's funny to hear that there are people complaining about this season, that there are too many ancillary characters, no one is together, nothing seems to be connected, blah blah blah...when that's exactly how the first season was. Most of the characters didn't start coming together until the final episodes of the season. So people just need to quit kvetching.

As I posted in the thread about the writers' strike, what I saw at a Heroes fansite at MySpace is this: Heroes Origins has been scuttled. It will not happen. The December 3rd episode has always been planned to be the finale of the Generations storyline, but now they're apparently going to tack an extra scene onto the end of the episode that will act as a season finale if the strike goes on long enough. Which I think it will. :(

So enjoy it, December 3rd might be our last original episode for a long time. :(

BTW, the new TV Guide has 4 different covers this week done by 4 different artisits, you can view them <a href="http://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/heroes/281246">here</a>! I got the Sylar cover in the mail. The accompanying article has some nifty photos from upcoming episodes and some mini-spoilers that make it sound like these next few episodes will be awesome :D.

A lot made more sense now, going 4 months back. Everything from how Niki ended up on the facility, the escape of Maya, more background on Kensei, how Peter ended up in the container (and lost his memory), how Nathan survived the explosion (turns out it happened the complete opposite way I thought). What I really like about this series, nothing is what it seems. I keep getting surprised. A good show is really determined by its writing, I feel, and Heroes truly excel at that. That's why the writer's strike is so distressing. How long before they not only cut Origins but start cutting corners in the regular season.

I agree, it was a great episode, with DL's death being the only dumb moment in the show. It just didn't make any sense at all. When we saw that he'd become a fireman, I was expecting him to die in a fire...when he just got shot like a sitting duck at the nightclub, I was pretty peeved :grumble.

But like I said, the episode overall was great. The stuff with Peter and Nathan was terrific, and I loved how Kensei's blood healed Nathan's burns. And I'm really starting to like Kensei a lot, he's turning into a fabulous villain with the potential to eclipse Sylar. And now we have the explanation for why Peter can shoot lightning bolts out of his hands, and the story of how he ended up in the shipping container in Ireland with no memory makes a lot more sense now. And I even enjoyed seeing how the Wonder Twins ended up being wanted fugitives. Good stuff this week, for sure.

Mohinder is a moron. Not sure what will happen with character now. I am tempted to say Sylar will kill him in the next episode but I think the actions that he chose will carry for a while. Oh my next theory is that Sylar is the cause of the virus. I think he will get his powers back and then kill the Wonder Twins (good riddance). He will have their powers, I think Adam will be involved in this and will tempt him to use his powers against NYC. I think Adam figures he can survive since he is unkillable and the Virus won't affect him.

Was it just me? Was I being a grumpy gus last night?

Last week's episode was strong stuff, in my opinion the best episode they've done this season. Last night's episode seemed really kind of lazy and dull. I didn't think anything was all that really interesting, but at least Sylar did finally kill Alejandro :dance. And of course, the final moment of Hiro vs. Peter was pretty good...and Adam did reveal how to kill him, so I think we do need to be prepared for a decapitation :D.

And at least we can speculate on the 2 characters who are going to die next week. I think Maya is a given...Sylar is going to regain him powers, and the first victim will be Maya for sure. As for the other...could they be referring to Adam? I don't think they'll kill off Micah's cousin or Molly, because the fans won't tolerate seeing a child die, plain and simple. So we'll just have to wait and see.

Jedi Master Carr
Nov 27th, 2007, 11:02:38 AM
I think it will be Nikki that is just my gut feeling and the other will be Maya. I have a feeling that decaptating Adam won't work. think he could regrow his head. Heck I think he was just about disengrated in that explosion so if he can come back from that getting his head cut off can't be worse. I don't think he can be killed now there might be ways to get rid of him by locking him in something he can't escape without help.

Except he explicitly said at least once, and I believe twice, last night that "there's no coming back" from being shot in the head. So I really can't help but think that dialogue was in there specifically to lay the groundwork for his potential death.

I'm also leaning toward seeing Niki bite the dust as well, but that might just be because I'm not overly fond of her character.

Well he told Peter that you couldn't come back from that. Also I am getting that from two places. One is Peter's mother said that he couldn't be killed. I also read something on a board that suggests he might be impossible to kill. I think he has just lived so long that his cells have made it almost impossible to kill him.
About the death there is another candidate. I could see Sylar taking out Mohander.

Maybe it works like in Highlander. Everything grows back except the head. Can you imagine Hiro proclaiming "there can be only one!" :lol

But seriously, I think it has been shown that the regrowing skill has some limits. Remember, in episode 4, Claire's head did not heal until the tree branch was pulled out of her head by the coroner. Also, in episode 19, Peter did not heal until the glass shard was pulled out of his head.

Matt is going to become a villain before season 2 is over >D

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if that happened. And it was interesting to see that Volume 3 is called Villains...perhaps a hint of things to come?

Very nice way to end the first half of (and perhaps the whole) season last night. Hiro's solution to the Adam problem was bloody brilliant...what better way to punish an immortal? But it does leave the door cracked open for Adam to return, which would be fine with me, because I think he's a terrific character.

Angela Petrelli must die, ASAP. For crying out loud, this is a woman who was willing to sacrifice both of her children! Her message to Matt about Peter was actually understandable, if it meant keeping the virus from being released. But sacrificing Nathan was just a selfish, selfish thing. They were very careful to not reveal if Nathan died or not...gotta give a cliffhanger thingie after all, doncha know :D. But if it does turn out that Nathan dies, I'll miss him, I had really started to like his character. What happened to him last night wasn't that big a shock--as soon as you saw the room was under surveillance and he said, "I'm going to hold a press conference," I thought, "Oh crap, Nathan is going to get shot"--and what speech he was able to give before being shot almost sounded like a farewell speech, with the montage and everything. But I'd like to see Nathan get his second chance. Niki, on the other hand, if she blew up in the explosion, I wouldn't mind at all :evil. But that would make Micah an orphan, and I dunno if they would plan on doing that.

I actually cheered when Sylar shot Maya...then Mohinder had to go and bring her back. Thanks a lot! :shakefist

Elle is becoming a good girl, that's kind of neat. :)

And I guess we have the question of who did the shooting? Was it Bob, was it Bennet's first assignment now that he's sold his soul to the Company, or was it someone else?

I just wonder when the show will be back...I heard last week that the WGA has an offer on the table that they'll be considering this week. If they accept, maybe things could get back on track by February or March.

Nikki's death was... meh. It would be more interesting for her to die of the virus. The killing off of her and DL seemed rather arbitrary, imo.

Rutabaga
Dec 4th, 2007, 06:50:54 PM
Well, we don't know for certain that both Nathan and Niki are dead. Nathan looked pretty dead, I know, but I listened very carefully when the news report was on about it, and all the reporter said was that Nathan was shot. He didn't say he was shot and killed. Nathan was given some of Adam's blood, which healed all his burns...will that blood save the day this time? Or will they be able to give him some of Claire's blood in time to save him? So not all hope is lost :).

And yeah, the building Niki was in did blow up, but we don't know for sure that Niki blew up with it. Although I wouldn't miss the character if she did blow up, but like I said earlier, that would make Micah an orphan, and I'm not sure if the producers would want to beat the kid up that much.

The only think I am mad about is the whole Maya storyline. Really those wonder twins had no point but to bring Sylar back to NY (which I think he could have done on his own). I thought for a few months that she was going to be the cause of the virus that would wipe out 99% of the world but because she didn't her storyline really made no sense. I hope they write her out next volume. Our luck she will have a fling with Mohinder.

Hahaha yes Nikki is dead dead dead good riddance your character was stupid also your power was stupid and your acting you are a stupid stupid person.

Nathan blah blah Peter's blood who cares we already know.

Now what I REALLY want to know is whether Sylar now has the ability to heal, or if that's a temporary attribute from the injection. Because if it's not...we're back in the no-win scenario from season one!

Nathanial K'cansce
Dec 5th, 2007, 04:43:55 PM
I think that was a side effect of the injection. Mohinder combined his blood with Claire's, thus the healing ability.

Lilaena De'Ville
Dec 5th, 2007, 06:07:32 PM
I believe that being injected with the blood is sort of a one time healing deal - it cured the virus/Nathan's burns, but it won't give you the power to heal yourself.

Being injected with Peter's blood wouldn't do anything because he has to THINK about it to heal himself - his healing ability is somehow tied in with his brain, not just his blood. In my opinion.

I like Maya still being around, I want the writers to stick to their guns when they have a new storyline/character. The whole Nikki/Paulo fiasco of Lost was so silly - introducing new characters only to immediately kill them off when people didn't like them. Pish posh. I just hope that Maya's ability doesn't get absorbed by Peter and then he kills everyone. :p

Jedi Master Carr

Well I suspect Nathan will hang around long enough for Claire to get West to fly her to NY to heal him. My problem with Maya though is here storyline didn't seem to go anywhere so far at least.
