Plot Synopsis (official)
In the unsanctioned, underground and unhinged world of extreme Ping-Pong, the competition is brutal and the stakes are deadly.
Now, Rogue Pictures’ outrageous new comedy Balls of Fury serves up this secret world for the first time on-screen. Written by Thomas Lennon & Robert Ben Garant (Night at the Museum, Reno 911!), the film is directed by Mr. Garant.

Down-and-out former professional Ping-Pong phenom Randy Daytona (Tony Award winner Dan Fogler) is sucked into this maelstrom when FBI Agent Rodriguez (George Lopez) recruits him for a secret mission. Randy is determined to bounce back and recapture his former glory, and to smoke out his father’s (Robert Patrick) killer – one of the FBI’s Most Wanted, arch-fiend Feng (Academy Award winner Christopher Walken).

But, after two decades out of the game, Randy can’t turn his life around and avenge his father’s murder without a team of his own. He calls upon the spiritual guidance of blind Ping-Pong sage and restaurateur Wong (James Hong), and the training expertise of Master Wong’s wildly sexy niece Maggie (Maggie Q), both of whom also have a dark history with Feng. All roads lead to Feng’s mysterious jungle compound and the most unique Ping-Pong tournaments ever staged. There, Randy faces such formidable players as his long-ago Olympics opponent, the still-vicious Karl Wolfschtagg (Mr. Lennon). Can Randy keep his eye on the balls? Will he achieve the redemption he craves while wielding a paddle? Is his backhand strong enough to triumph over rampant wickedness?

Balls of Fury is going to be the tough one to predict. I could see it finishing 3rd or 5th this weekend. Halloween is the easy one. I don't think it makes less than 20 million for the 4 day. Oh and I think you mean Labor day weeekend instead of Memorial day :)

Ahem, yeah, I did :lol

I wonder why they release Halloween now though, instead of on halloween.

Ahem, yeah, I did :lol

I wonder why they release Halloween now though, instead of on halloween.

The only thing I can think of is the studio is hoping to duplicate the most successful Halloween movie which was H20. That was released in late August and made around 80 million. They figure it will make more now than in October. I also think they are afraid of two other scary movies being released in October, Saw 4 and Trick R Treat.

Looks very tough, near impossible to catch up with the leaders here. I am going with a high pick for Halloween.

1. Halloween: $26.31M
2. Superbad: $12.96M
3. Bourne Ultimatum: $10.76M
4. Balls of Fury: $10.22M
5. Rush Hour 3: $9.05M

I pray this is the last one.

We better work on our praying skills a little more, cause I just read they already wrote the script for 5 & 6, and got a director. I guess when they can make these movies at $10M each, they are just going to keep it going unless they start to totally bomb at box office, which ain't gonna happen for a while. :|

Heh I noticed that too. I thought about changing my halloween pick but I am not sure if it can do much more than 25-26 million for the 4 day.

You might win, if SuperBad does almost 15 million. It needs to make almost 3 on monday. I will win if it does a little less. If it has a really lousy Monday LD will probably win.

4 Day estimates

1 Halloween $ 31,012,000 3,472 1 $ 8,932 $ 31,012,000 MGM $ 26,462,000

I can't crown him yet but I am also willing to say CMJ is going to win. He got at least two of the movies right (according to the estimates) and at worse will tie with me or LD. Yog will probably get the most points but he needs like a 100 more than CMJ to win. Unless they really overestimated some movies I say CMJ will win this year.

It's a very tough and demanding game. Much more so than good ol' pick 'em. Congrats on winning CMJ, even if it's against only a few. But if you think about it, how many players of this game have been banned over the years? I can think of two, possibly three.

I can only think of one off hand, of course I could be forgetting some people.
It is tough, not sure if there is a way to make that part easier. I am always opened to suggestions.
