Top 5 from last weekend
1 N The Bourne Ultimatum Uni. $69,283,690
2 1 The Simpsons Movie Fox $25,110,873
3 N Underdog BV $11,585,121
4 2 I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry Uni. $10,626,345
5 3 Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix WB $9,522,220

New Releases
Rush Hour 3
StarDust
Daddy Day Care Camp
I doubt the latter will make the top 5. I mean Eddie Murphy wouldn't even reprise his role for that movie. Poor Cuba Gooding Jr, got an Oscar and is now doing movies Eddie Murphy won't do.

Cool go for it :)
The only film I am not sure about is Stardust. I thought by its cast it has potential but it might be a tough sale to for most people.

Some of those predictions are a little too high for DDC. That movie will be lucky to do 4 million this weekend. It didn't even make 1 million in either of its first two days. It will probably do 3.5-4 million and not crack the top 10.

Rush Hour disapointed. I think it was that 6 year gap that hurt it. It should still clear 50 million but it won't do no 60 like we were all thinking. Looks like Yog wins this one.

No, it is the fact it is an unwanted sequel to a not particularly good Rush Hour 2. Even Rush Hour wasnt all that good to begin with.

Brett Ratner destroyed X-Men 3, so this is no surprise to me. :shakefist Except that I watched X-Men 3 and I didn't watch Rush Hour 2 or 3. :p

Rush Hour 2 was well liked actually. The Cinemscore for it was an A-. It also had very good legs and made 226 million and finished second that year.
It just wasn't a loved movie that could have a sequel 6 years later. If they had made a sequel two years after the second one, I bet it would have done better. To me Stardust is the bigger disapointment. I mean Rush Hour 3 will turn a profit, but Starudst is a bomb.

Stardust is an excellent movie, as well. You should go see it and help it turn a profit. :mad

I want to go see it, but it will take more than me unfortunetly. I think we can blame Paramount's bad marketing for its failure. I saw hardly any previews for it on TV and the ones I did see were horrible. It looked like it gave a bad representation of the movie.

3 Way tie now. Man is it close. I might try to figure out the cutting out of 4 weekend thing here. Though we could start doing that next weekend since we have three weekends left.

I took out everybody's worse 4 weekend (I have to say that is cumbersome process) At the same time it was easy because only four of us have not misses more than 4 weekends. So here are the results now
CMJ 545
Lilaena De'Ville 525
Jedi Master Carr 510
Yog 405
this new rule really helps Yog and CMJ the most because they had a couple really bad weekends. It hurts me because I have been too consistent lol. At the very least it gives everybody an idea where things stand going into the final three weekends.

Jedi Master Carr
Aug 13th, 2007, 09:31:41 PM
You have the lead if you minus your 4 worse weekends. It is going to come down to the last three weekends, of course I think it might come down to Labor day since its double points.
