I am not sure what to expect from the new movies. Bratz looks like it is DOA. I haven't even seen any advertising for it around here. Underdog looks horrible. I am not sure about Hot Rod though it doesn't look funny. I wouldn't be shocked if none of those 3 make the top 5. That makes this weekend tougher because both Order of the Phoenix and Hairspray could still crack the top 5 since they will both be around 9.5-10 million.

Slow week predictions wise - even other than losing Dizzy. Everyone forgot about this week.

People are starting to give up because they don't think they have a chance at winning. I think that is the main reason why.
Here are Friday's estimates
1. BOURNE ULTIMATUM, THE UNIVERSAL 3,660 23,671,000 6,467 n/a 23,671,000
2. SIMPSONS MOVIE, THE 20TH CENTURY FOX 3,926 7,876,000 2,006 -73% 110,827,787
3. UNDERDOG BVI 3,013 4,123,000 1,368 n/a 4,123,000
4. I KNOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK & LARRY UNIVERSAL 3,289 3,197,000 972 -47% 84,362,000
5. HAIRSPRAY NEW LINE 3,115 3,043,000 977 -40% 72,660,287
6. HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX WARNER BROS. 3,125 2,647,000 847 -47% 254,106,000
7. NO RESERVATIONS WARNER BROS. 2,425 2,100,000 866 -48% 19,689,357
8. HOT ROD PARAMOUNT 2,607 1,954,000 750 n/a 1,954,000
9. BRATZ LIONS GATE 1,509 1,725,000 1,143 n/a 1,725,000
10. TRANSFORMERS PARAMOUNT 2,419 1,587,000 656 -50% 291,819,134

Looks like I was right about Hotrod, not doing well. The movie just didn't look funny. Potter should beat out Hairspray for the top 5 because it will have a better multiplier since it is more kid friendly. Mojo has a higher figure for Bourne with 24.5 so it could do anywhere from 65-70 million for the three day.

Oh awful drop for the Simpsons. I think our predictions are all too high for it.

9 Hot Rod 5,015,000 2,607 1 1,924 5,015,000 Paramount
10 Bratz 4,310,000 1,509 1 2,856 4,310,000 Lionsgate

Great for Bourne. I think it will do 200. If Potter was underestimated or Hairspray overestimated, I could get the order right :)

Well to be fair I knew this weekend was going to be hard. At the same time you didn't do that bad, mainly just overestimated HotRod. I picked Harry out of bias and had a feeling that Hot Rod was going to bomb.
