Who eles thinks this weekend will be rough? Chuck and Larry looks awful to me. The worse Sandler film previews I have seen in years. But it could still do 40 million based on Sandler's name. I think OOTP will drop 50-55%. The Book will hurt it but I don't think it will kill it more than 55% that means somewhere between 33-38 million. I have no idea what to expect from Hairspray.

I feel Harry is being a little overestimated. I think the book will impact it on Saturday. Friday might be a different matter, since nothing really starts till 9PM and not everybody buys the book at midnight. I was thinking about Chuck and Larry at #1 but it looks so bad (not just reviews) and the movie just doesn't seem funny. I get an Evan Almighty feeling from it and that movie was only saved because it was PG. So my picks
1. Order of the Phoenix: $35.88M
2. I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry: $31.55M
3. Hairspray: $26.66M
4. Transformers : $23.99M
5. Ratatouille: $12.77M

um ok I think Jedieb is trying to cheat, I mean the picks are more than a day late and well after saturdays numbers and lo and behold hes the only one who took chick and larry to finish #1

I don't think Jedieb is trying to cheat probably just forgot the deadline's time.

the post was almost on sunday though, and hes the only one to take chuck and larry as #1 which is just fishy because chuck and larry finished #1 on friday doing a lot better than most anticipated

I would vote to disqualify the picks

I think picking them late friday early saturday morning is a lot different than picking late Saturday. So, no offense to Jedieb but they shouldn't count as per the rules.

I mean no offense to eb, and I am not trying to say he is trying to cheat (that was so humor on my part) but its just too fishy for me to see him taking Chuck and Larry as #1 when Friday's numbers had been out more than 12 hours and going against how everyone else thought the weekend would unfold. The picks were beyond late, I am with Lil I can see forgetting and getting your picks in early Saturday morning but when the pics are so late that weekend estimates as well as Friday's numbers are readily available then I cry foul.

I don't either, simply because they were so late. Then again, his picks were still WAY off which makes me believe he didn't look. No one would've extrapolated those sorts of numbers from Friday.

They really shouldn't count although I am not going to be around tomorrow to post the points. Yog will be doing it and I will let him decide.

I will post the winners when the actuals are out. Unfortunately Jedieb's pics are too late, so they can't count this week.

Sorry about the lateness of my pics. I was pretty busy and I promise I didn't get any early results. I put Sandler's flick at #1 because I banked on the Sandler crowd completely ignoring the thrashing the film was getting by critics. Hell, I was planning on seeing it until I saw just how badly the film was scoring at RT. I'll definitely be waiting for video on that one. But, I was waaaaay late so my picks shouldn't count. Damn, I could have gotten back in the game. Oh well.

It's really getting hammered. 14% with critics and only 56% with users. When a Sandler flick rates that low on opening weekend you know the movie probably blows chunks. I saved myself a wasted night out and at least $50. The next two movies I see at theaters will probably be Rat and The Simpsons.

I am getting closer. I knew I should have put Chuck and Larry first. Thre things influenced me. The first was the reviews that came out, the second everybody here was picking Potter, and the third is my Potter bias. I just knew the book would hurt it where it would drop close to 55%. Oh well, still did great :)
