So, it's that time of the year again. Long summer days, warm summer nights, grilling barbecue, and fireworks. Good ol slice of Americana.
Of course, we know what that means for me. If you don't, lets have a flashback:

What is all of this?
http://panicked.org/sa/tannerite2.jpg
You have picked up grey powder!

You have picked up white powder!
(shake shake shake...shake shake shake)
Everybody likes fireworks, right? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2t3YdgPmbA)
So yeah. More of the same lined up to celebrate our cessation of mercantile serfdom at the hands of that rapscallion King George. Mayhaps we will send up a striking effigy of Lord Cornwallis as a stern reminder!

You know I got in trouble for that quote during the 'Fourth of July' Political Gang Show. Not because of what I said, but because I referenced Homer Simpson.

I plan to blow up something. Hopefully it won't end up being my vehicle or a piece of my body.
I like taking a bottle, throwing in about 20 bottlerockets, a few spinners, and some blackcats, light it up, then run like there's no tomorrow. Because once the cats go off, no telling which way the rockets will end up firing off to.

In 1814 we took a little trip
Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip.
We took a little bacon and we took a little beans
And we caught the bloody British in the town of New Orleans.
We fired our guns and the British kept a'comin.
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more and they began to runnin' on
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.
We looked down the river and we see'd the British come.
And there must have been a hundred of'em beatin' on the drum.
They stepped so high and they made the bugles ring.
We stood by our cotton bales and didn't say a thing.
We fired our guns and the British kept a'comin.
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more and they began to runnin' on
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.
Old Hickory said we could take 'em by surprise
If we didn't fire our muskets 'til we looked 'em in the eye
We held our fire 'til we see'd their faces well.
Then we opened up with squirrel guns and really gave 'em ... well
We fired our guns and the British kept a'comin.
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more and they began to runnin' on
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.
Yeah, they ran through the briars and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go.
They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.
We fired our cannon 'til the barrel melted down.
So we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round.
We filled his head with cannon balls, and powdered his behind
And when we touched the powder off, the gator lost his mind.

Yays! Things go kaboom!
Well for you all at least. I live in a well populated area that has made all the good fireworks illegal. *sigh*

Wow, the forums went quiet. I guess you all went to do either of these:
1. Barbecue
2. Watch fireworks
3. Go and see Transformers
Whatever the case, I hope you are all having fun! Happy Independence Day!

I cooked some great homemade burgers on my new grill, as well as some incredible sausages. Dinner was awesome, and I felt so proud of my meat-cooking accomplishments.

Ahem. Fireworks are definatly NOT American, nor is BBQ. Nor are muscle cars anymore either, but that's just a low blow from the real home of stupidly overpowerful family hacks turned snarling monsters. Typhoon baby is where it's at.
But blowing crap up in a movie? TEAM AMERICA DUCK YEAH! Now THAT'S AMERCIA!! And no one bar none deos that better.

I know fireworks originated in China, dude. Sheesh. |I

Funny thing is, our torch sparklers put off red, then yellow, and then white fire. Somehow I don't think these were made in China, or even the United States for that matter. Why are we, Americans, on our holiday, shooting off Mexican fireworks? Shouldn't our sparklers be the typical red, white, and blue? As is our national flag? We should, but our sparklers are in synch with the colors of the Mexican flag.
But I, in the true spirit of americanism, fired off illegal mortal fireworks, because the whole world knows that the greatest American pastime is breaking the law.

I guess it's like this:
Watching a Transformers movie = America
Living in a Transformers movie = Japan
