My parents told me this video was being shown on TV, and they told me to seek it out, it was so impressive...this is a video of a young man named Paul Potts, who just won the competition on Britain's Got Talent. Why the guy has been hiding away selling mobile phones, I have no clue...but I'm certain that that career is over, and another is about to begin.

Enjoy! :)

I'm happy that he won, but at the time I found myself rooting for little Connie. Adorable.

He gets even better as the competition goes on. I saw his next performance and it was in-CRED-i-ble.

It annoys me that we have what could be considered the sister show to Britain's Got Talent, The X Factor, featuring nothing but singers and here we have this other show with a vast variety of talent and who should win but a singer? A singer who has recieved professional opera training in the presence of Pavarotti in Rome, nonetheless.

I was bored by the Paul Potts story, frankly I think his choice of song helped enormously, and hopefully next year, singers won't be so prominent in Britain's Got Talent. We have The X Factor for that.

Don't you have Pop Idol as well, or has that run its course in Britain?

Pop Idol went to pot after either its first or second year. It was replaced by The X Factor.

Cause Paul Potts is far more amazing and IS the perfect act to put in front of The Queen? I have NO problem voting her off.

BGT was one talent show that actually HAS talented people on it. The variety was excellent and I actually was really impressed with most of the acts that went through to the final. But while Potts was the deserving winner my favorite was the BAR WIZARDS!!!

Was this shown in the UK? I haven't heard anything about it. Anyway, the opera guy did give me a bit of a shiver. The six year-old was pretty impressive, though mostly because of her age, I think.

PS. The two guys who host this show come from my city. Don't you love our accent? :mneh

:love Ant and Dec, although I have to confess they're minis are even cuter.

Connie is the most adorable little thing! What a gorgeous smile :D

EDIT: Here she is performing 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' again, in the finals. So good!

I think Paul Potts is a deserving winner, but this irks me. Let me see if I get this right; he's been to a top opera school, toured with opera companies, studied under Pavoratti and other greats, and performed many times. The producers of the show portray his talent like a chest of gold dropping from the sky on a cloudfree day. Deceptive much?

I love that he won, and hope his next performance is in the Metropolitan Opera House. He is worthy to perform in front of the queen, but tone down on the cellphone salesman factor a tad, please. This was not a guy who sang karaoke at a night club suddenly discovering he could do Nessun Dorma.

Really??? Wow, now I'm actually quite upset that he won. Fine, he has low self esteem or whatever. Britain's Got Talent should be for the true undiscovered talent.
