Cloud City. A hive of activity, and no doubt a hive of corruption too. Sirus had visited the floating city on several occasions, most of the time protecting some client or another. Back when he was younger and his services were in more demand. He still had no idea why his work dried up. As far as he was concerned, he was still as reliable as he always was, maybe even more so. Experience was a valuable tool. And god, he was only 29. In the prime of life. He guessed the usual clients preferred younger blaster fodder.

The dark-haired man paced through the city. He was supposed to meeting a small Duro by the name of OW. A Duro with a knack for pickpocketing no less. Sirus had checked his that his pockets still held everything several times before parting company with the Duro. A task was to be set, but Sirus had no idea what it would be.

"Cloud 9, eh?" Sirus muttered to himself as his eyes rested on an unfamiliar bar. "Well, I guess it looks as good a place as any."

Heading through the entrance, he cast his gaze around the place, and decided a seat at the bar would suit him. Pulling off his coat to reveal black trousers, a black shirt, along with white braces and a tie, he slung it over the stool and took a seat, casting his eyes over the drinks the opposite side of the bar.

Well well, in walked a stranger.

That was nothing new around this place, especially lately. Molly had seen it all. Other than her boss walking in a blood stained and half dead mess last week, nothing of equal importance had happened. Well not unless you counted the whispers of a feared crime syndicate making a home away from home, in the city in the clouds.. Of course, Miss Black, wouldn't know anything about that..

Molly walked up to the new patron and used a soft polishing cloth to make the bar before him shine bright. She offered an equally bright smile.

"Hey there.. What can I tempt your palate with tonight?"

Sirus let his gaze rest on the woman. He'd always been a sucker for barmaids, especially when he was younger. Still, he was on business. Clearing his thoughts, he returned the grin and pointing out a bottle of blue-green liquid he'd spied a few feet away.

"Hey sweety. A double Johrian whiskey, please. With ice" he replied, running his fingers through his hair.

"Absolutely hun, commin' right up."

Molly spun on a heel, sending her bouncing dark curls flying around her head. She moved down the bar, grabbing a double-shot glass. She tossed in a couple of rocks and grabbed the bottle of Johrian whiskey, sending a liberal splash of the potent aqua liquid over the ice. She slid it across the bar to her customer and resumed her pleasant chatter.

"So can a bring you a menu, we have a wonderful selection of food if you're hungry. Or I could just rattle off the nights specials.. Or.. I could just let you drink your whiskey in peace!" She winked and waited for an answer, nodding a quick hello to the customers walking in the doors.

"Thank you sweety"

Damn, he sure was hungry.

"Sure thing. What are tonights..."

Sirus trailed off as his hand felt around in his pocket for credits. Pulling out what he had, he counted out the cost of his drink, which left a tiny amount. He'd forgotten, he hadn't been payed yet.

"Well, this is embarrasing. Uhm, is there anything I can get for this? It's not my pay day for a few days yet" he said, half cringing

Oh no.. One of those?

Molly was not in the habbit of letting people charge accounts. It was not Cloud Nine policy and what was more Mu would have her head. Fortunately for Molly, Mirko was on the clock tonight. He seemed like a nice enough guy, but he also had a look about him that said he could be trouble if he was made to be.. Molly didn't want to test the fact. He had enough credits to pay for his alcohol and about half of a special. She'd make up the rest and then some by then end of the night in tips.

Oh, what the hell...

"Don't sweat it, hun. Keep it simple on the menu and we'll make it work, okay?" She smiled and left him to peruse the menu for a choice, cursing herself for a sap. Better to wax sentimental than to be the cause of anything untoward happening. She needed this job.. Sorsha wouldn't be pleased if she got herself dismissed.

"I appreciate it. You're an angel" he remarked, breathing a sigh of relief.

Sirus looked down at the menu, scanning over the options. He knew his choices were limited.

"Just a steak, please. And make it a small portion, I don't wanna get you in any trouble or anything. I know it can be hard to keep down a job. I've only just managed to find a new one myself as a matter of fact, hence the shortage of creds."

Hadrian Mortmain

"A most trying area to come across lasting means of occupation. Though, I guess it really depends on who you are." Came a sudden deep voice from the front of the Cloud 9 establishment. The voice was followed by heavy foot fall upon the clean floor. The comment was obviously directed at the two carrying on with the conversation. He swayed for a moment and then started forward with his naturally lazy swagger. When he reached the bar, he slipped onto a stool beside Molly's dark haired friend.

Hadrian Mortmain's smile was congenial enough, but his orange-toned eyes dished out threats and warnings like clockwork to all who happened to pass under them. For a moment, they lingered on the man.

"Rough day.." He commented again, his head then canting and that gaze tripping along to explore Molly's face.

"You look lovely.. as usual, Miss Black."

and a voice that could pour over you like hot chocolate...

Molly grinned, facing the back of the bar and typing into a keypad the order for one steak dinner. She didn't need to turn around to match the timbre with the face. She heard it every morning when she woke up and it was the last thing she heard before she drifted off to sleep.

"And a good evening to you too, Mr. Mortmain." She turned around and leaned forward on the bar. She didn't have table duty tonight, she was, as she called it in jail behind the bar and for once she was glad of it. It was rare that Hadiran got off the clock at the casino, before she did at the Cloud Nine.

She gave another smile to her customer, while she mixed and slid a Dentarian Ripple in front of Hadrian, without asking what he wanted.

"Don't worry about it. I've been down on my luck before too. If not for the Angel that was sent to rescue me, I'd still be there."

She held out her hand. "My name is Molly, by the way. Molly Black. Pleased to make your acquaintance mister..?"

Sirus watched as the newcomver approached and sat. He was obviously a regular. Sirus took up the whiskey in his left hand, taking a sniff of the liquid before placing the glass against his lips as his eyes met with the new man's eyes for a moment.

Sirus took a quick sip, before replacing the glass on the bar, and letting his rough hand curl around Molly's.

"Blackjack. Sirus Blackjack. A pleasure, Miss Black."

Releasing his grip, he turned to face Mr Mortmain, offering both a hand and a toothy grin.
