thread icons are tied to member groups

Yes it was changed in the last few weeks to be tied to member group. That way people who don't WoD RP won't be cluttered up with all of those icons, and vice versa.

Yes, icons can be tied to a specific forum, and to a specific member group as well. So there are actually two icons specific to the Enclave forums. And the roleplaying icons (open/closed etc) are tied to the roleplaying forums and are not available to the general forums at the top of the page.
