I feel a little late to the game, but here we are. Sanctuary (http://www.sanctuaryforall.com/) is a broadcast caliber T.V. series developed specifically for the Internet. It will not be aired on broadcast or cable, but on your computer. Each 15 to 20 minute episode will be availble to download for a fee (I'm not sure what the fee is but it is for HD quality video. I imagine it will be very comperable to an iTunes purchase) Sanctuary utilizes state of the art computer aided graphic design for the majority of its scenes. Green screen, people, green screen.

From the production blog (http://www.sanctuaryforall.com/blog/index.html):

On May 14 2007 the first 15 minute webisode of Sanctuary will go live - with a new webisode being released every few weeks after that. A total of eight webisodes will be released for this initial run. The show can be watched online or via download and is, IMHO, best viewed via our Sanctuary Media Player.
The Sanctuary Media Player, from what I've seen of it, is pretty nifty. There is a screenshot mechanism built into it, so you can instantly capture high quality images and download them or email them to a friend. There is an eight minute preview of the series available right now for free: PREVIEW (http://www.sanctuaryforall.com/player.php?fname=preview)

Ok so, about the series itself! What is it about?! Who is in it! Executive Producer Amanda Tapping (a.k.a. Samantha Carter of Stargate SG1) stars as Helen Magnus... oh heck, here's the summary from the scifipedia article (http://scifipedia.scifi.com/index.php/Sanctuary_%28web_series%29).

The premise of the show is one of science (http://scifipedia.scifi.com/index.php/Science) meeting the supernatural (http://scifipedia.scifi.com/index.php/Supernatural), as Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping (http://scifipedia.scifi.com/index.php/Amanda_Tapping)), who is well over 150 years old yet appearing only 35, seeks out and gives protection for (or in some cases, from) various creatures whom have heretofore gone un-noticed and unregognized in a somewhat Gotham style city, with occasional flashbacks to Victorian London. She is aided in her quest by assistant Will Zimmerman (Robin Dunne (http://scifipedia.scifi.com/index.php?title=Robin_Dunne&action=edit)) and daughter Ashley (Emilie Ullerup (http://scifipedia.scifi.com/index.php?title=Emilie_Ullerup&action=edit))...

..Each "webisode" will be around 15 minutes, with three "webisodes" comprising one 45-minute episode. On May 14 the first "webisode" will be available for download. The first four will be free on various video sites (i.e. youtube (http://www.youtube.com/)), but only in a low definition format. High definition will only be available for a small fee on the official website.
Check out the preview available online for free, I was intrigued and very interested in this new format of entertainment.

This look really cool http://www.mneh.org/s/cool.gif

My only concern is the fee thing. I am not sure if I would be so interested to pay a fee to see beyond the 4 first episodes.

It would be making up for the lack of commercials, I believe. I wouldn't mind, personally.

Oh and there is a trailer (http://www.sanctuaryforall.com/player.php?fname=trailer) too - some better shots of Ashley, the daughter of Helen Magnus, and the main bad guy, John Druitt.
