This thread is for me to dump my ideas and sketches of Lupines. Some pieces will be rough sketches, some finished, some step-by-step comparisons, and who knows; some I might even decide to scrap.
To start with though, here are a few that I pulled from my old sketchbook.
A spike-back lupine:

Ceremonial helmets:

Nice work (as usual).
I like. The scale is done quite well.

You know what this means, right? You're going to have to draw Arya in Lupine form. ;)

Kantür Losstarot
This Lupine was one of the three most hated by all Guardians. He was a butcher to the core, methodical and cruel, yet to his own kind he was the most courteous and kind of beings. One would not think that simply from watching him interact with his family, he could turn about and viciously punish a Leh'beni for accidentally coughing. He is easily recognized in illustrations by the skeleton of the first Leh'beni child he'd slain, and it is a well-known historical fact that he wore his macabre chestplate with pride.

Very cool design, s'Il. I continue to be impressed with what you've brought to the Lupines.

Thanks :D
Ok, this is a 3d model I made of The Gate of Souls. I haven't had the time to add textures to it, so right now it looks very VERY plain. A lot of the details are going to be in the textures, since I wanted to minimize the building process. Also, I've not modeled them yet, but there are going to be four statues; two humanoid and two vornskr. The human statues will go on the pedastals that are on the ground level, and though it's hard to see, the vornskr statues will be on the elongated bits extending out of the main body, standing in front of the wall sconce thingies.
I actually have about 16 renderings saved, but those I made as I was building the thing, and show it progressing from the ground up. If anyone is really interested, I'll post them. But for now I give you two of the finished model itself :)

Sweet, do you use Maya or 3dsMax? I've blundered my way through maya but haven't had a chance to use 3ds.

I heart Maya. But, I believe S'illy uses 3DsMax.
Of course, now they're all owned by one company (AutoDesk). I wonder what the future will be.
S'illy, I think you should check out http://www.mudbox3d.com. It looks spiffy.

WOW that mudbox thing is impressive

Yup, I use Max. Though after seeing mudbox, I just might look into it.
Texturing is going slooowly, but it's coming along. the ones that are gonna take the longest are probably going to be the huge pillars in front; it's going to have a 'relief' of Lupines that have died, all swirling around each other.

Sweet, can't wait to see it. Do you know anyplace I can get 3dsMax or Maya cheap? Even my University discount doesn't do much for me.

Ok, in light of recent events I'm pulling this thread back up. I have a few more pictures to post up. I also worked more on the Gate of Souls, but pics of those aren't ready yet. During the winter break I worked a lot on creating fire effects for the bowls, so once I can fine-tune my tweaking I think I should have something manageable to post up.
Until then:

This is a bit of a play page that I threw together. However, note the tooth at the bottom. It's got a small inner poison line - much like a venomous snake's. Aside from the barb in their tales, Lupines can also transmit their 'gift' through biting. They have special muscles in their gums that push their poison through these tooth canals and into their victim.
